If you peer through the branches of the cottonwood trees, you will see beautiful sundogs! πβοΈ
We had a precious little friend visit this evening before the snowstorm! He or she was hopping about, nibbling on the seeds and berries weβve set out for our little critter friends. Always attentive, their ears were turning this way and that, listening for any signs of danger. πππ
We were pleasantly surprised to see all of our little friends out and about yesterday morning after the snowstorm. They enjoyed the seeds and corn we put out for them and are no doubt getting ready for the next snowstorm we are scheduled to get this evening.βοΈβοΈβοΈ
After the Monday-Tuesday snowstorm, the wind created some beautiful snow drifts! Although it was cold, I enjoyed traipsing through the snowy landscape.βοΈβοΈβοΈ
A low lying fog created a beautiful sheet in front of the sun, as if we were looking out on a shimmering lake of clouds. It was beautiful!π π π
After a late night fog settled around us, the following morning was beautiful and frosty! Iβm bewildered by how the frost grows spiky like thorns, but love how it sparkles in the early morning sunlight.
Hey, Moon! This morning you could see the moon craters really well. It was so beautiful!π
I love going outside the morning after a snowfall and seeing how the snow has caught on the leaves and tree branches. Sometimes it seems impossible that it could hold on, but it does. It is absolutely beautiful!βοΈβοΈβοΈ
There is nothing more wonderful than waking up to glittering snow and a beautiful sunrise! After a surprise snowfall yesterday evening, I got to take some pictures this morning and although it was chilly outside, it was so fun to go trudging through the snow.βοΈπ
The other evening we had the most beautiful sunset!! The clouds glowed as if they were on fire behind the silhouettes of the trees.
The beautiful fall foliage is so bright right now! There are many different shades or reds, oranges, yellows, and greens. It is absolutely beautiful!!πππ
The sunrises this autumn have been especially beautiful!!ππ
We took a drive through Indian Cave State Park yesterday and enjoyed seeing the changing leaves of autumn and the Native American carvings on the cliffs. It was a very peaceful drive with windows down, feeling the cool breeze and listening to the birds singing.
By Brownville, Nebraska they give ferry rides along the Missouri River. One of the ferries is stationary, but the other you can see resting on the water.
"The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with eager feet, Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."
-J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
While driving down by the bluffs in eastern Nebraska, we came across Camp Creek Cemetery and Chapel. It was so interesting walking around and seeing the old headstones, some of them ornately carved. It was a peaceful place along the gravel road, filled with roses and other flowers.
My family and I took a wonderful walk around Holmes Lake for my birthday. We saw ducks and little fish bubbles and a little caterpillar crossing our path. This was the first time weβve walked around the lake and will definitely be going back for a picnic soon.
As I fall back in love with my life and the calm, slow pace of the autumn months, the flowers are beautiful and the leaves on the trees are turning. It's a wonderful time of transformation, internally and externally. Happy Autumn, everyone! ππ
We had several monarch butterflies migrate through our country oasis last week, one of which stayed behind and was here all day yesterday βrefuelingβ on nectar. π¦π¦π¦
The last blooms of the summer flowers are beginning to dry up and the tree leaves are changing. πΈπΌ
The Full Harvest Moon was so beautiful last night as it rose over the horizon!πππ
Our beautiful flowers continue to bloom! The late summer sun is shining a little less intense and signs of autumn can be seen peaking around the corners.πΌπΈπΊ
Last night we took a walk outside and got to see some beautiful clouds! The thunderheads were gorgeous as they formed and grew in the dying light of the sun.
My mom found this little caterpillar on our sidewalk, so he was carefully relocated to my wildflower garden. It was a type of moth called a Yellow Striped Army Moth.πππ
These beautiful Morning Glories bloomed along our fence line! They were shimmering in the early morning light with rain droplets on their petals from the showers over night.πΈπΊπΌ
This gorgeous thunderhead formed near our house one evening and it was incredible to watch as the clouds grew and moved. βοΈπ©οΈβοΈ
