Cool Dog Trays is a manufacturer of silicone products.

What does that mean exactly?

It means that there are high costs to produce not just the product, but to design the product, product testing, the mold to make said product, and everything else associated with making a silicone mold.

The last year we tried to go direct to consumer. However, it has come to our understanding that this is not the correct direction for this business.

Producing silicone molds is not just incredibly expensive it is also incredibly time consuming. Let alone throwing in any other business practices (customer service, shipping, handling, designing marketing, website design, product photography, sourcing teams, funds, and taking what ever educational courses needed to fill in the blanks and parts unknown to the struggles faced.

It is an awful lot for a single person to run on their own. Let alone have any sort of life outside of the business.

When one part of the business picks up another lacks so at any given time we are struggling to find balance. I’m sure a struggle most actual businesses know. Especially the solo business owners.

We are absolutely transparent about who we are. Our process. What we needed in order to make this work on a direct to consumer situation.

We mentioned that we need to raise a minimum in order to produce a new breed. Elaborated each time that this is strictly the required for each new breed. Not all as a total.

We understand that what we have to offer is unique and everyone wants something they can feel good to own. (It’s why we made our first tray.)

There is a lot of requests for one off items.(breed requests, personal pets)

And in a perfect world we’d love nothing more than to sit around and make these but the timeline we’d need to raise the funds just to offer something for nothing to these people would be insane.

The truth of the matter is. Although everyone wants one item. It doesn’t cover the cost to produce. Let alone any costs to our actual living and breathing.

We’ve poured our literal blood, sweat, and tears into every part of this business. Working endless nights, never having a day off. Responding to people immediately.(even those messaging on our days off, odd hours of the night and holidays) It just gets so incredibly exhausting on top of everything else. So we set hours of operation for the business. To award ourselves some piece of mind and sanity.

As of our last post early January we decided to move back in our original direction. We removed everything available on our website and stopped promoting to you guys, the consumer.

Not only has not raising the minimum for each breed been challenging in bringing them into production, timelines, ect. We were just not getting seen and having the consistent orders each day/month to grow our business, despite our endless efforts to manage what we need to.

Addressing the elephant in the room.

We’ve spent a lot of time focusing our gears on turning this business into profitable success and finding others to help that our communications have taken a hit in this direction.

We are in no way stating that people have not been understanding and patient in waiting for their product. We also understand that not all businesses don’t make it past the first 5 years.

We are not giving up on this business succeeding, given what hurdles have been faced, we will not be continuing to put ourselves in the same boat with consumers.

We are here to bring product to those who have purchased but because we’ve not been able to do what we need to do to keep going in that direction we are definitely asking for more understanding.

There are a considerable amount of hurdles we are facing in getting orders out on timelines previous stated. We are still incredibly hopeful that we will get back on track and send these orders out.

Our timelines have been pushed back yet again from our previously stated. We understand how frustrating this is for everyone involved. And are doing our best to rectify this in the quickest manner possible.

We are left with one of 2 option. To refund those who do not want to wait. Or send a product to those who don’t mind waiting longer.

Ideally we'd love to send the product to everyone who has purchased.

We respectfully understand what decision people come to.

These breeds were previously requested in our trays. We sculpted them out and placed on our web page.

These breeds were available for preorder until today.

We are sad to say that these breeds are now unavailable until we can gain enough interest in their communities to help raise the minimum.

Basset hound, Samoyed, Westie, Scottie, Giant Schnauzer, Bull Terrier, husky, gsp, boston terrier.

All other breeds that have recieved some of the preorder are still on track for finalizing.

Reference photos and really good head shots. I know it's difficult to get good quality photos if white dogs but anything and everything will help with seeing the puffs of hair and shape to it.

Have you ever baked something in a Silicone mold and the scent stuck with it or it came out stained?
