Imagine stepping outside to a garden that's as beautiful as it is bountiful, where every plant has a purpose. 🍓🌼

Did you know that forests are nature's blueprint for a perfect garden? Mimicking a forest's layered structure, from the canopy to the ground cover, can create a garden that's both productive and self-sustaining. Forest gardening is a core principle of permaculture, focusing on plant diversity and symbiotic relationships to create a low-maintenance ecosystem that provides food, habitat, and beauty. Thrive Lot's Eco Pros™ are adept at designing edible forest gardens that fit your space and lifestyle, bringing the wisdom of the forest into your backyard. 🌳🌿🍒

Water conservation is a key element of sustainable landscaping. Techniques such as rainwater harvesting, drip irrigation, and the use of native, drought-resistant plants can significantly reduce your garden's water footprint. Thrive Lot's Eco Pros™ specialize in creating landscapes that are not only beautiful but also efficient in water use, ensuring your garden thrives even in the driest conditions. By designing with nature, we create spaces that are resilient, sustainable, and in harmony with the local environment. 💧🌿

Pollinators play a crucial role in the health of our ecosystems and the productivity of our gardens. Thrive Lot's designs prioritize biodiversity, incorporating a variety of flowering plants that bloom throughout the seasons to ensure a consistent food source for bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. This approach not only supports local wildlife but also enhances the pollination of your fruits and vegetables, increasing yields and ensuring the health of your garden. 🐝🦋🌼

The 'Three Sisters' is a timeless companion planting technique practiced by Native American tribes for centuries, showcasing the power of plant symbiosis. Corn provides a structure for beans to climb, beans fix nitrogen in the soil to nourish all three, and squash's large leaves shade the soil, reducing w**d growth and preserving moisture. This efficient use of space, nutrients, and water exemplifies permaculture principles, creating a balanced and productive garden ecosystem. At Thrive Lot, our Eco Pros™ design gardens that harness these natural synergies, crafting spaces that are not only productive but also sustainable. 🌽🌱🎃

Soil is much more than just dirt; it's a living, breathing ecosystem all its own. A mere 1% increase in soil organic matter can help your garden retain an additional 22,000 gallons of water per acre, significantly enhancing drought resilience. That's the equivalent of 8 massive concrete trucks of water held on your yard to cool the air and water your plants!

Our Eco Pros™ at Thrive Lot are experts in regenerative practices that boost soil health, leading to lush, vibrant gardens. By incorporating organic compost, mulches, and cover crops, we naturally enhance the soil's structure and fertility, promoting healthy plant growth and reducing the need for synthetic fertilizers. 🌱💧

Welcome to May, the heart of spring! Did you know that diverse ecosystems within your garden can enhance not only the beauty and yield of your space but also its resilience to pests and diseases? Thrive Lot's Eco Pros™ meticulously design gardens that mimic natural ecosystems, ensuring your outdoor space thrives with minimal intervention. This approach draws inspiration from natural forests, where diverse plant species coexist, supporting each other's growth and creating a self-sustaining environment. 🌱🌺🌳

Thrive Lot Story

Thrive Lot was born out of a deep desire to create the most massively good impact in the world possible. When founder Justin West was a child, he competed nationally in 4H Wildlife Conservation Judging, which taught him about the interconnectedness of the natural world and the vital role of diversity in the health of ecosystems.

Like many people, Justin was burdened by watching the modern system spin out of control–destroying the natural world that is the foundation for all life on the planet. He spent a decade researching various environmentally and socially beneficial models, and started over 20 business projects before encountering permaculture in Southern Spain in 2015.

Permaculture involves growing food by working with the natural world instead of fighting against it. The approach of permaculture food production is facilitation of complex natural systems, not extraction and enforcement of unnatural environments, like a wheat or corn field that needs to be sprayed with pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to kill the natural system.

Like many others, Justin quickly realized that the facilitation approach was infinitely more effective in the long term. Ecological, holistic food production systems required fewer and fewer inputs over time while increasing in productivity–the reverse of industrial agriculture, which requires massive chemical inputs every year and depletes the soil over time.
