Thank you everyone who helped us in the campaign in Sketty, unfortunately it wasn't enough this time round.
Now it's time to rest my feet from walking up and down the hills of Derwen Fawr and Tycoch.

⛽️ From tomorrow, E10 fuel will be rolled out across the UK as part of the new government policy. E10 contains more ethanol than existing fuel.

95% of petrol vehicles will be able to run on E10, but you can check whether your vehicle is compatible here: https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-e10-petrol

If your vehicle can’t run on E10, you’ll need to use a premium fuel (badged as E5).

No off peak train fares on Transport for Wales with fewer cheap tickets 01/06/2021

Did they not scrap the M4 Newport bypass in favour of public transport? Why then hike up the price?

No off peak train fares on Transport for Wales with fewer cheap tickets “Scrapping the crucially important off-peak fares from many trips will hit many people in Wales, and there is no justification for this short-sighted decision"

Do you have or know someone with pictures or videos of the violence in Mayhill? Lets bring the violent few to justice!

violent disorder - Further arrests.

3️⃣ more men aged 18, 21, and 23 have been arrested in connection with violent disorder in on Thursday, May 20.

This bring the total number of arrests to 7️⃣ and further arrests are expected over the coming days.

Of the seven who have been arrested, two - aged 21 and 23 - remain in police custody and 5️⃣ have been released on bail with a number of strict conditions including a night-time curfew.

🚔 There is a continued, enhanced police presence in the area and there have been no further incidents of violence or disorder since Thursday.

Detective Superintendent Gareth Morgan, who is leading the investigation for South Wales Police, said:

💬 I would like to thank the public for their support and reassure them that the bail conditions will be monitored and enforcement taken if breached.

💬 These conditions are in place to allow us to effectively engage with the Crown Prosecution Service and allow them time to consider all the evidence in its entirety so that appropriate charges can be brought against those involved."

Officers are still appealing for information and wish to thank those residents who have already come forward providing witness statements and video footage.

A dedicated team of detectives are carrying out extensive enquiries to identify those involved and are ready to act upon any information received.

Those who want to hand themselves in can do so at Swansea Central Police Station.

Don't want your Council Tax increasing every year under Labour? Then Vote!

Residents in Gower have had their council tax increased by Labour, year on year! This isn’t good enough and I want people to keep more of their hard earned money in their own pocket.

🚨To help local families with the cost of living, we will freeze council tax for at least 2 years.

Petition: Allow supermarkets to sell "non-essential" items during lockdown 26/10/2020

Petition: Allow supermarkets to sell "non-essential" items during lockdown The Welsh Government, as part of its 17 day "firebreak" lockdown, is banning the selling of non-essential goods from shops that are allowed to remain open. ♻️📆🟢 It’s a GREEN week collection in Brynmill, Uplands, Sandfields & Mount Pleasant tomorrow (Wed 7th Oct) so here’s a handy reminder of what we can and can’t accept for our student and other residents.

⚠️ Above all remember that paper & card need to be kept in a separate bag to glass & cans. If they’re mixed in one bag we can’t collect them and all your good work goes to waste 🎻😢

🚫 Don’t put any cartons or tissues in your green bags or place any black bags out for collection.

Give food | FareShare | Surplus with Purpose 04/10/2020

Today marks two years since then Secretary Michael Gove MP announced the Food Waste Fund, a ground-breaking scheme to save surplus food from waste and get it to charities instead.

The idea behind the Food Waste Fund was simple - by covering the small additional costs of harvesting, packaging and transporting surplus food, growers would no longer have to pay more to get their fresh, edible surplus food to charities than they would to plough it back into the fields or send it to recycling.

As a direct result of this scheme FareShare was able to redistribute an additional 4,500 tonnes of food- enough to create 10.5m meals for vulnerable people.

Food poverty in UK should be a thing of the past and the Conservatives are working hard to support the most vulnerable.

Give food | FareShare | Surplus with Purpose Our Food Team can work with you to achieve the most effective solution for dealing with your unsold food, enabling you to use your surplus for social good.

Still seems strange to see after all these years driving on congested 1way roads.

😇 Most people want to recycle as much as they can at home, but unfortunately it's not possible to collect everything for recycling at the kerbside.

🚫 Please make sure none of the items listed below go in any of your recycling bags. If they do your bag may be left uncollected as otherwise you could contaminate the load causing more harm than good.

ℹ️ If these items go in any bag from home it has to be the black. But some of them can still be recycled if you can take them to a collection point:
- Carrier bags ➡ Banks by the till as large supermaket stalls*
- Cartons & paper cups ➡ Banks at all recycling centres
- Crisp packets & food pouches ➡️ Certain TerraCycle UK collection points*

🧐 If you're unsure about an item check the list printed on the side of each bag, or contact us to ask.

💻 Find more information at www.swansea.gov.uk/recycling

* Some collection schemes may be reduced or on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic

We need to save our local hospitality businesses so they do not close down for good!
We need free parking.
We need public toilets to be re-opened.
We need to let pubs/restaurants use their outside areas.

The Council needs to stop dragging its feet and support local businesses to re-open safely.
