What happened: Sakhi Asif (), an ex-candidate of Awami Workers Party Hunza, shared that two weeks ago a boy went to Gulmit Hospital to get treatment for a urinary retention. The boy took an ambulance from Shimshal to Aliabad for 10,000. However, the boy was unable to get medical help as the hospital did not have urinary bags and catheters.

Details: Sakhi Asif, ex-candidate Awami Workers Party Hunza, sent a message to Rt. Col-Abaidullah Baig, a member of the Hunza legislative assembly. I have written to the concerned authorities several times but didn't get any positive feedback. He stated that no official is taking the issue seriously. He has also given official statements to local newspapers.

Message: “Dear Col Obaid sb MLA GBA, I am writing to you with good hope that you will raise these issues infront of your party leadership. I have already mentioned these issues in my statements in different newspapers but didnt get any positive response. We are lacking basic health care facilities in Hunza.

Kindly raise the following points.
1) There is no medical officer in sost.
2) At the moment we have 1 Dentist in whole Hunza.
3) No Ultrasound machine and digital xray in Hunza
4) No medical specialist, Gynaecologist and General Surgeon Hunza.
5) Shortage of medical staff in CH Gulmit and non availability of x-ray tech in Gulmit.
6) Shortage of Emergency medicines.
7) Basic health units in shimshal and chipurson shall be provided Emergency medicines and equipments.”

What else: The ex-candidate of Awami Workers Party Hunza, stated that Hunza has a population of 243,324 but there isn’t a single medical specialist in the region.
