Wellness isnât just a state of being, itâs a mindful balance between mind, body, and soul âš
Life isn't an either/or kind of deal.
You can't feel happy without know what it's like to feel sad.
You can't feel excited without knowing what it's like to feel stuck.
Whether you're struggling with depression, anxiety, or barely hanging on during a difficult season, give yourself some grace.
It's no secret that I struggle with anxiety as a result of traumatic events in my life.
I overthink.
I get trapped in my mind.
l isolate myself.
I have bouts of pressure in my head.
Negative self-talk starts.
The 'what ifs' creep in.
I just want to go to sleep and reset.
Here's the key to breaking out of the dark void that you're inevitably spiraling into:
Give yourself permission to identify the source of the anxiety and PROCESS.
Feel all the s**t!
Walk through all those feelings that are attached to the anxiety.
Hold a safe space for yourself so that you can let all the emotions out.
Write the story of your anxiety trigger down.
Process through music, whether playing an instrument or listening.
*MY FAVE* Park your car at the beach and cry. it. out.
The more you know what the anxiety trigger is and where it's coming from, the closer you'll be to overcoming it.
Walking in the discomfort of the ugly stuff that comes up and pushing through, brings you healing and POWER.
It creates and opportunity for you to become more aligned with yourself, and to GROW.
I remember the exact moment when I realized that I was drowning in lifeâŠ
Kiddo 1 was working on his math homework at the kitchen table, kiddo 2 was at the desk looking for pictures for a research report, and I was running between the two of them while trying to clean up the dishes from dinner.
Then I heard a scream from down the hall where the two littles had been playing in the bathtub until I could make my way to wash them up. âMom! âBrotherâ pooped in the tub!!â
âOh fu***ng my god! I canât do it all!!â I took off running down the hall and implemented the water rescue of two horrified children from the floating t**d.
Hard truthâŠYou canât do it all.
The more you try to take on all the things, the lower you fall on the totem pole.
You start to feel unappreciated. You feel like you arenât enough. You start feeling resentful.
I get it. I was that woman that was trying so damn hard to keep up with my family, and measure up to all the other women around me. When all my family needed was for me to be me. I was enough.
If you donât make yourself a priority, no one will.
Mama, put yourself in a time out every day. Take 15 minutes and sit in the sun. Take a candlelit shower. Sneak that piece of chocolate when the kids arenât looking.
Implement little bits of self-love every day I promise that your self-worth will grow, and youâll feel more and more empowered to set boundaries in your life.
And remember, YOU ARE ENOUGH.
