⭐️⭐️Updated bus schedule! ⭐️⭐️

10/08/2023

I want to apologize for any inconvenience the registration process has caused for parents and guardians. Not to make excuses, but we have been importing a new student information system for the District. If you need to print off any forms or need the use of a computer, all building sites have them available from 8:00 to 3:30 Tuesday through Friday. All of this is a work in progress to moving the District to online registration.

Also, we have computers available for those that need to do the 1 to 1 computer review. This needs to be done by both the parent and student before a computer will be issued. This is only for grades 9 through 12.

Open House is Thursday, August 17th from 2:00 until 7:00. Bus routes will be available at this time.

Remember, it takes all of us to create an atmosphere of learning for all our students here at Louisiana R-II.

I am available for questions or concerns at [email protected] or 573-754-4261.

Yours in education,

These are required yearly back-to-school forms to review and update information.

Please complete and submit your forms by FRIDAY, AUGUST 18, 2023.

Please enter through the Middle School doors. Your student will not be issued a Chromebook until both of you have completed these forms.

We have some information patrons, parents and students need to review on our District website.

Grades 9 thru 12 will be going 1 to1 this year. The first thing the students and parents must do is to review the 1 to 1 Chromebook Information on the website. Go to Select a School and choose the high school. Select the technology section and review the slide school and at the end it will take you to a link to fill out a google form. These will need to be completed before a Chromebook will be issued to the student. If you have questions, please contact me in the Central Office at 573-754-4261 or email at [email protected]

Also, the School Board has put out a "Louisiana R-II Community Engagement Survey" they would like ALL patrons to complete. You will find it on the front page of the website at www.louisiana.k12.mo.us.

All taxpayers of the district can view the 22-23 budget and the newly approved 23-24 budget. To view this go to the District Information section and click on budget.

It seems the time after the 4th of July we are starting that transition back into the school day norm and before you know it the kids are getting ready for those first days of school.

I am asking a favor to all of you and that is to “be an involved parent.” Parents make a difference. Studies show that children whose parents are engaged in their education have higher grades, better behavior, and improved social skills.

Here are a few suggestions on being engaged and involved.
1. Show interest in school. Regularly ask your child about school and what they have learned.
2. Prioritize attendance. Regular attendance is crucial for success in ell levels of school, especially elementary. Make sure your child is in school every day.
3. Get to know your child’s teachers. Be a part of Open House and Parent Teacher Conferences and talk to your child’s teachers about any questions or concerns you have.
4. Stay informed. Regularly check the school’s website for district and school news, upcoming events, and important notices. Make it a habit to always check those backpacks.
5. Read together. Fostering a love of reading is one of the most important ways you can help your child to succeed in school.
6. Make homework a priority. How you approach the subject of homework says a great deal about the value you place on education. Your child needs to know that you consider homework a vital part of what you feel is important.

We are looking forward to another successful school year here at Louisiana R-II and remember it takes all of us to educate the children. If you have questions or concerns do not hesitate in contacting your child’s administrator. Elementary 573-754-6904; Middle school 573-754-5340; High School 573-754-6181; and Central Office 573-754-4261.

Have a great rest of the summer.

I would like to thank all parents, guardians and most importantly the students for a successful first year here at Louisiana R-II. We are already preparing for the start of the 23-24 school year and we will be seeing some changes. The high school will be totally 1 to 1 in technology with Chromebook’s going home. All buildings will have safety film placed on exterior windows and entrances. The elementary playground will be fenced in with safety barriers at all entrances. The parking lot at the high school will be restriped with some work done on roof drainage at the high school. New doors will me installed at the high school and middle school. These projects are being funded through the Safety Grant, previous bond issue funds, and ESSER funds.
Summer school starts May 30th and runs for three weeks.
Have a great summer!

The Missouri State Board of Education and DESE are requesting stakeholder feedback on its Strategic Plan. The insights gathered from the survey will be used to guide the state’s education policies and initiatives over the next several years and participation will help ensure that the Board and DESE have a comprehensive understanding of the needs of students, families, and educators across the state. The survey is easy to complete and should take only about 10 minutes. Your responses are completely anonymous, and your input will be kept confidential. The survey closes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21.
