Last night was epic we haven’t been posting much lately. But we did some cool stuff last night. We won all the races last night! Cheers to the crew!
Also to everyone that came and had a yarn last night was bloody cool talking to you all!
Cheers to Blake's Speedway for the video. Not often people capture after the race for us!

We will have a full run down of the North island champs in another post. This post however is one we worked on closely along with others in the club to put on a fan zone to “give back” to the fans and allow them to be up and close with the cars and drivers. Thanks to all the drivers and crew who participated and for all the fans for showing up.
This will now be a feature integrated into the club going forward so look out for it!
Stratford Speedway what a great way for the fans to get involved and Stratford Saloons put a show on.
Watch out for our next post on the wrap up.

We are ready for a hit out at McDonald's Kihikihi Speedway tomorrow hope to see you all there!

Photos from Waygood Racing 226s saloon page's post 14/11/2023

Our second hit out in the Waygood Racing 226s saloon was at home in Stratford.
A difficult and frustrating first two races due to our setup not being right (my fault and no one else’s, apologies for being it being such a handful around other competitors). But in the third race we finally dialled it in to how the car used to be. A pleasure to drive and easy to be in behind someone.
Motor Neurone Disease NZ on the side for Baz this year!
Thanks to Valley Panel & Paint for the fix ups during the week, Simpsons Tyres and Autocare,Automotive Brake & Clutch Centre, LRC Motorsport, Elite Farm Solutions, Hunts Farm Services 2014 Ltd, CAB Surfaces & Benchtops Ltd.

Massive one goes out to mum and dad for turning up and dad pushing through his disease to come and give me advice and help!
Next race is Taranaki Champs.

Well sometimes you have a good night and sometimes you have nights to forget. Unfortunately this was a night to forget. First race I missed the setup big time and although It looked cool three wheeling the whole track it was not fast on a track that needed a lot less drive. We dropped back a lot and didn’t have a great finish. I don’t think I’ve had to work so hard for a car to turn in before. We changed a fair bit and went out for the next race and low and behold the car had its speed back. Unfortunately we got hit in the back straight by a car that turned down as I was shooting up the inside. This in turn rattled the bolts loose in the steering rack and I ended up with no steering after I clipped the pole in turn 1.
Massive thanks to the crew and everyone at Robertson Holden International Speedway was a good night overall.
Thanks to the sponsors Simpsons Tyres and Autocare, Valley Panel & Paint,Hunts Farm Services 2014 Ltd, Elite Farm Solutions, CAB Surfaces & Benchtops Ltd, Jackson Lovelady Racing, Automotive Brake & Clutch Centre.
Also great to have Motor Neurone Disease NZ on the side for dad.
Not a great start but this is racing.

This is for you Baz! The new Waygood Racing 226s Saloon for the season! Zodiac signs with the killer design. We have some new sponsors for the year - Motor Neurone Disease NZ, Hunts Farm Services 2014 Ltd, Elite Farm Solutions, CAB Surfaces & Benchtops Ltd and Simpsons Tyres and Autocare. Returning from last year Automotive Brake & Clutch Centre, Valley Panel & Paint, Jackson Lovelady Racing from Lovelady Racecars. Gotta thank the crew and mum and dad. Unfortunately Barry Tippett cannot join us this time at Robertson Prestige International Speedway. His motor neurone is just a bastard and is not helping but let’s get this!

25/10/2023

So unfortunately we will not be racing at opening night at Stratford Speedway. We couldn’t make the minimum number to run. Unfortunate but these things happen. But rest assured we are racing this weekend! We are headed to Robertson Holden International Speedway to run with the local palmy cars. Cant wait and hope to see you all there. We have a massive surprise in store for you!

Side 2 is on and now it’s just the finishing touches and we have a trailer ready for the season.

Photos from Waygood Racing 226s saloon page's post 27/08/2023

We have been very quiet around the Waygood Racing camp. Due to a few things which has been mum and dad getting their new home done! We are very stoked they can do this but now we are back into it. The trailer has now got 3 axles (after our mishap on the way back from Auckland) huge thanks goes to Nigel from Cletus Metalworks for getting this done. The sides have come off and gone back on the first side to complete the upgrade. Now we have one more side to go. The updates will continue and we will be getting the car back to 100%. For now this is a couple of photos of the trailer.

30/04/2023

Got a bit choked up in this one but thought I’d post it anyway because it’s raw and exactly how I feel with the overwhelming support. We have some exciting stuff in the off season so keep an eye out!
J A Digital, LRC Motorsport, Valley Panel & Paint and Automotive Brake & Clutch Centre cheers for the season!

10/04/2023

We also had a major on our way home from Auckland losing a wheel and having to get Nigel Paul Hazelton to rescue us and now work on a somewhat damage trailer. We thank you heaps Nigel what an absolute gc and look forward to what you do with the trailer for us.

Check out his page Cletus Metalworks.

Feature race at Waikaraka on Saturday for the Auckland champs.

Photos from Waygood Racing 226s saloon page's post 10/04/2023

Last week we made the decision to enter at both Meanee and Auckland for their champs. Friday morning we woke up and checked the weather. It did not look great and I decided to take a risk and say it would be cancelled at Meanee. Luckily for once I was correct. So Saturday we started our trek to Auckland.

We got to Waikaraka-Park Speedway and unloaded the car. Did the grid draws and awaited the racing.

Race 1 we started grid 10 on the outside. The track was soaked and wasn’t very fit to race but they started us anyway. Made two places up to 8th.

Race 2 starting grid 3 and the track feeling better I was keen to see how it would go here. We took off the line and dropped a place. The car was three wheeling every lap and at one point I got caught out almost rolling. Finishing in 4th place.

After these two results we didn’t make the pole shuffle. A lil disappointing but we were starting grid 9 for the feature race.

The feature.
We started grid 9 and off the start lost a place. Pushing hard the whole race, even when we lost power steering in the last three laps we made up some ground passing two cars and one car out with a dnf we finished 7th overall for the Auckland champs. Pretty good going for a track we had never raced or seen before Saturday.

The video we will post next is the feature race and shows the power steering going in the last three laps and me absolutely buggered after the race.

Thanks to Matt Podjursky for being the crew for the weekend. Thanks to Matt Stone for having us stay and the hospitality your family showed us. Thanks to Bert Cardwell for the use of the workshop to store the car and trailer.

We would also like to thank our sponsors J A Digital, Valley Panel & Paint, Automotive Brake & Clutch Centre, LRC Motorsport and HSP- Humphries Steel & Performance for his awesome work on getting us back to form.

Photos from Waygood Racing 226s saloon page's post 29/03/2023

Well where do I start! What a weekend! We went into the second round of the Taranaki Saloon Champs with a 1 point lead and some strong competitors behind us.

Race 1 grid 8 saw a strong start passing a few cars ending up in fourth for a while before a lap car pushed wide on us leaving us in 5th place.

Race 2 grid 4 we shot through with a Wellington car in front of us sitting in second until the last lap where he made a mistake and I capitalised making an awesome pass on turn 1&2 for the win. We did some donuts for the crowd to celebrate this one.

Race 3 grid 3 we gridded up and when we hit the line the grid 4 was empty so I just out there but unfortunately there was a jump start. So we gridded up again. This time no jump start but Amy Eckersly, who eventually went on to win Queen of the Mountain, shut the door on me. We fought hard but just couldn’t make the car stick so ended up in fourth behind Bradley Korff which meant we were tied on points for the Taranaki Champs.

Runoff time came around and I knew I’d have to be absolutely sending it to beat Bradley as he is a very good driver. First lap I jumped into the lead and held it for two laps but then the ruts on turn three got me losing momentum and Bradley gained on me. After a physical dual I got pushed wide to almost being in the fence and knew the kitchen sink would need to be thrown to have any chance. So that’s what I did and put on one hell of a show for the crowd trying my hardest to gain it back. In the end I couldn’t do it but we got second in our second ever season!

So proud of everyone who made this happen. Dad, mum, my wife Emah, Shay and Larni, Toby Scott and everyone who came up and said how awesome the car is and how good the driving looks. Still got a lot to learn but we are getting somewhere.
Thanks also to our sponsors J A Digital, Valley Panel & Paint, LRC Motorsport, Automotive Brake & Clutch Centre.

HSP- Humphries Steel & Performance without Williams help we wouldn’t be back racing so thanks again to him!

Stratford Speedway what an awesome weekend!

Photos from Waygood Racing 226s saloon page's post 24/03/2023

We have been very quiet lately and that was for good reason. We wanted to try the car after the big rebuild. I’m not superstitious but I wasn’t prepared to let anything harm our chances the car would be good again. So a late minute entry into the super saloon class at Robertson Holden International Speedway was in order.
We went out first heat and I wanted to feel the car out but the old helmet went on and the brain got kicked to the curb and we absolutely sent it. Thank god the car was perfect. We managed some awesome lap times and were able to keep up with the cars down the standings. Heat two I threw my changes at it to see if it was the same. Again we were charging hard behind the supers keeping up.
Last heat I tried the absolute limits of the setup changes I usually do as a trial. Wasn’t the best but I know the limits of it now. But we passed a super! Made my night. Thankyou to all the super saloon guys for allowing me to race with them as it was a good shake down for the Taranaki champs tonight!
Stratford Speedway we will see you all there tonight to watch the north island superstocks and see us try to hold on to the little lead we have.
Thanks to the crew my wife Emah Tippett, Deidre Tippett, Barry Tippett, Larni Burkhart and Shay Burkhart
Thanks to our sponsors Valley Panel & Paint Automotive Brake & Clutch Centre, LRC Motorsport and J A Digital we appreciate everything you guys do for us. I cannot thank William at HSP- Humphries Steel & Performance for the cage work he performed we appreciate it!
Lastly thanks to all the fans and the boys who showed up on the night to support us Brandon Niven, Trent Macdonald Watson (who got the photo below and a video I’ll post in comments), Liam Earle and Stuart Paterson McQuillan cheers boys.

Photos from HSP- Humphries Steel & Performance's post 26/01/2023

Bit of an update on the LRC Motorsport lovelady mustang. HSP- Humphries Steel & Performance knocked this one out of the park! If you need any work this is the man to see. Such epic work and done so quickly we cannot thank him enough. Now to get the rest of this thing rebuilt and hit the dirt soon!
We thank the people that help us Automotive Brake & Clutch Centre, Valley Panel & Paint, J A Digital but most importantly I have to thank those that support me in everything I do, Larni and Shay Burkhart and Estelle Brownson and Scott Wiseman for being there and crewing. Barry and Deidre Tippett for the epic car and the huge support. But most importantly Emah Tippett my partner in crime and the one who gets me to every race when I haven’t organised anything, the pep talk before a race I’m nervous for. Also the work she puts in on the car on the night! Many wouldn’t see any of this but she is right there changing tires, checking tire pressures, making sure the setup is how I want it!
Thankyou to all let’s get this car rebuilt and hopefully we can get some new names on the side of the car and get them there name promoted loud and proud!

18/01/2023

Lil update for you all. Forgot to say in the video we are very fortunate to walk away with no injuries but Sean Robertson wasn’t so lucky. Hope your feeling ok mate. Another who faired worse than us was Shane Laking with a pretty bad concussion. Shows the dangers of what we do but also shows how good the safety gear is these days. Anyway enjoy me trying not to act nervous.

13/01/2023

Well this one sucks but here’s goes a recap of our first nz saloon champs.
First heat out we started in 13th near the back of the field. After 12 laps finishing 8th. The car, after some changes over the two weeks prepping was back to its former self.
Heat two we spun some changes and the car felt great in the warm up laps. Then we gridded up ready to go green. Went around the outside of a car close to the wall corner 1&2 then headed down the straight where a crash had developed and a car had come to an unfortunate stop tried to turn out of it but too late. Unfortunately we hit Sean Robertson in the 16G car sending him high in the air. He’s ok and at hospital at the moment but that’s all we know. We hope he is ok and doing well at the moment. I’m sure he is going to do an update at some stage. So unfortunately that is our nz champs done as we bent the roll cage and damaged some other critical components.

Thanks to Emah, Scott, Estelle, Matt, Mum and Dad, Nigel and everyone else who helped us in the pits to get the car movable and even getting us to this point in the first place. Cheers for all the messages I’m sweet as not damage to me.
Thanks to everyone who supports us J A Digital, Automotive Brake & Clutch Centre, LRC Motorsport, Valley Panel & Paint.

Well sometimes you just get handed a bad deal and today was going awesome. The car was on form and we had a 4th in the first race. The second race we were sitting in third and then disaster struck the torque arm broke and the diff was ripped around and the driveshaft smashed. Not how we wanted to end the season but now the car is to be torn down and parts replaced. We thank everyone who has helped this season from lending advice to parts. We have enjoyed meeting everyone and learning racing this year. Thanks to our sponsors Elite Farm Solutions, Simpsons Tyres services, Hunts Farm Services 2014 Ltd and of course my wife and my family. The biggest thanks goes to Barry Tippett for trusting me with the car and being there every week and setting up such a great car to learn in.
