Larch Designs
Larch Designs is a budding upcycled fashion business. I strive to give old clothes a new life.
So we're doing a secret Santa at work and I'm making a battle vest for my coworker's cat. What kind of patches and phrases would a cat have on a battle vest? I'm going to include little rainbow studs.
We are working (slowly) on fixing the living room. Jazpurr is getting his own area next to my crafting storage area. I have the floor covered with pillows and a gigantic dog bed I hauled home from work right now we're sitting and listening to the rain together. Jazzy has his heating pad and I'm about to set mine up. A cozy night in.
This week's project is in the works. I don't know who it's for yet! But I can't wait to find out.
It's going to be the second piece in my abstract cats collection.
Hoping to have an Etsy shop up by July.
Tonight's first project is hand embroidery on a piece of trim I reclaimed from an old prom dress. It will be applied to a patch on a lace tee shirt.
Working on a new design tonight. Eventually it will be a three piece set with flowing skirts and a shawl!
A new upcycled look, coming soon from Larch Designs!
Stay tuned for updates.
Today I've been working with dyes. Eventually this will be a batik. It won't be as intricate as I'd like, but the next one will be.
I'm using water based resist to block out the designs. Then I will continue to add ink until I'm happy with the colors. After that I will wash to fabric and it will come out with these beautiful designs showing off the colors below.
Coming soon to a blouse near you...
Working on some patchwork for the front panel of a dress.
This is how my brain works too! Now I have to work on my soft skills so I can create what I'm seeing.

Working on a new project
Here is the first draft
Pin cushion that can travel with me and not get lost? Hell to the yeah!!!
Currently working on an embroidered patch for a project. The entire piece of fabric will be covered. Hopefully it will go quickly. It isn't my best work, but it will look amazing on the finished garment.
Something in the works...
I'm going for a 1940 silhouette. It's not perfectly pinned yet but the pleated panels are going to be replaced with lace in between. I am as yet undecided on whether or not I will dye the lace to match either the sage green or the mushroom red in the dress.
New transformations! These will all be available at Thriftology Seattle this week!
Wow! My first post on my new business page! We're working on actually getting a business license and I'm going to start freelance styling for people.
