Three of Us x Past Lives
ās Three of us is one of the most beautiful films to have released this year. Itās poignant, subtle, soothing and heartbreaking. Time moves in one direction, memory moves in another. The director captures this idea in a perfect way and the way the starcast owns every character in a manner, where it almost disappears if they are playing a role in a film or itās their real life.I would highly recommend everyone to watch it ā¤ļø
A while back I read somewhere
that āFacebook is to mental health, what fossil fuel is to climate healthā. And I guess I understand what it means now. The very first day of it used to be, it feels useful, with a potential to connect us with the world, but slowly we realise how we are trapped in a vicious cycle where itās just consuming the world, it was supposed to be helpful to.
It feels ironical how I am writing about a film that focuses on the ājourney of the Gen Z through their phone addiction and social media validationā on a social media platform. But I think thatās what makes it special, thatās what makes it a unique attempt. This film just stepped at the right time when I needed to understand how mindlessly I watch social media most of the time. The film doesnāt solve the problem, itās a tiny little step to understand our obsession with social media validation, scrolling through content and this constant need to watch other peopleās lives ,in a better way. As we always say, before solving a problem we need to acknowledge the fact that we are facing a problem, this film is that step of acknowledgment.
When I saw Imaad finally accepting the fact that he is going through something that feels tough, it almost felt like someone put up a mirror in front of me to acknowledge the fact that we all have problems, we all need help. And the only way to help is to let our guards down for the people who really care about us and let them in. Imaadās character is the one I loved the most, itās like he represents everyone who wears confidence on their sleeves everyday, but reality is that we are facing our inner demons everyday. He says that he understood he was funny when he was really sad, that reminds me how we often find something to escape from the reality rather than face it. We all have our defense mechanisms, some laugh it out, some distance themselves from it, some get angry over it, and some might just avoid, like it didnāt even happen. We all know which type we really fit into. Itās important how we find people around . Itās beautiful how the film ends with Ananya saying , āFind your tribe, because who needs followers when you have friendsā

I still have my thoughts reserved for what actually I feel about this film. Altogether itās a light hearted film, but it has itās flaws
are literally so good
is good as Dilton Doiley. I really wanted to love Bettyās character, but there are times when she seems dumb, which is not at all was Betty Cooper is about(if you have read the comics). brings the sass to her character but thereās still some missing. Archie Andrews is good, but I guess thatās not enough for that characterš«

Borderlands- National Award (2023) winning documentary By Samarth Mahajan
This film is one of the prime reasons, I think why cinema and film making plays an important part in our way of looking at a society. The lens through which we get a much broader view must be clean and more importantly honest, and that is what .arth.mahajan has done in this insightful documentary.
Borderlands, presents us with beautiful six stories seated with different layers of separation, displacement, remembrance, longing, and hopes of homecoming, hope of a change and seeing your loved ones one more time. There are no regrets, no lamenting while the film progresses, but just smiles, which might just hide the pain of separation, longing and half done goodbyes.
It showcases how borders wonāt sometimes serve the purpose of what they were constructed for at the first place.
Itās beautiful how the director just listens to them and through their lens you feel like you are talking to every person and living a day with them.
The documentary not only examines the effects of external borders, but also the ones that we internalize. While the physical lines divide two lands geographically, we humans make psychological demarcations between the people we love and who we want us to be.
To put it simply, Samarth Mahajan subverts the sensationalism that stories of this nature typically use to give a compelling, sympathetic, and timely depiction of the underappreciated lives of individuals across borders in āBorderlands.ā
I am so glad to be a little part of it. Thank you .arth.mahajan for this opportunity and for this beautiful documentary ā¤ļøšš»

Dil Dhadakne Do has been those few films I would never stop talking about. The film was about a lot of things but most importantly as the title makes it so clear āLet your heart beatā. Let it be as free as it can get. And in one of the most beautiful scenes where Priyankaās character ( Ayesha) is standing on the edge of the cruise , as if she has lost all her hope to live, ready to jump into the water,Sunny says āCareful there!ā saving her from jumping. But when Sunny asks her to be Friends! She says āIāll rather jumpā.
As Pluto narrates the whole scene, with such beautiful lines about how human beings are so complicated when it comes to their emotions, especially love. Telling someone you love them is the toughest thing to do! But why? I guess itās the fear of knowing that probably they donāt love you, itās the fear of being vulnerable in front of someone. Life is too short to leave important words unsaid. We rush through life working and tackling day-to-day concerns, but often forget to stop ourselves to connect with those we love. The most important ones in our hearts deserve to know the depth of our love and appreciation for them. Dil Dhadakne Do beautifully captures this emotion of how so many things are left unsaid.

As I watched YJHD for the first time when I was 13 years old, I couldnāt really understand the depth of what Bunny actually meant ,when he said this. But as I grow up , I realise how Adulting is all about this phrase. We need to understand that at some point of time , we need to leave things behind for the best. To grow as a human being, to grab opportunities, to move forward, we need to leave things behind. Everything comes with a cost and maybe, instead of living with regrets for the rest of our lives, we should learn to move forward, to let go of things when itās the right time.
Bunny and Riyaās conversation is one of those underrated moments from the film, when really gives the film,itās essence. Bunny had went from one thing to other in the 8 years of his life, after leaving for Chicago. He had learnt , that sometimes in quest of moving forward , we had to let go of certain things, certain people and a certain environment. Transition is a part of life, but transiting from one state to other is our choice. We need to make those choices consciously, and more importantly at the right time. At another point in the film, when Bunny realises that he loves Naina, he leaves his dream of travelling to Paris for his dream project and decides to stay at a place, where he truly wants to be, because he didnāt wanted any regrets of leaving Naina behind.

Little Things will always be one of those series I would love to watch whenever I am in search of something comforting to watch. Everytime you watch it , there are moments you discover which are so raw and may be thatās why they are so relatable. One of the most beautiful thing about this series is Dhruv and Kavyaās honest conversations about their relationship. Itās like you see the couple solve their day to day problems and you grow with them. Whatās amazing about this is, that even though everyone is scared to share thatās there in their mind at some point of time, Dhruv and Kavya pour their heart out to each other about their experiences and thoughts. Maybe thatās the reason they stay together because they both are so true to themselves.
In this scene where Dhruv says that they have let each other grow, because itās one of the most important things in a relationship. Change is inevitable no matter you are in a relationship or not, but growth is always a choice. Itās always an individualās choice ,whether the changes in their lives are part of their growth or not. Relationships do not come with an instruction manual,itās always the ones in it , trying to learn everyday through their experiences. At one point in the series Kavyaās mother says that people need to be a part of each otherās growth, even if your happiness doesnāt stem from it. As Dhruv says here that , we have had that freedom to make mistakes, to learn from them.
Love and growth should go hand in hand and not as individual choices. Thereās a dialogue in Dil Dhadakne Do where Pluto says āJisse pyaar kiya hai , usse thodi azaadi bhi doā and I think thatās important. To grow , one needs space , and love should provide that space, that ease to make mistakes and to learn from them.

Been obsessing over this song likeš„¹š„ŗš
Apart from being one of the most beautiful rom-com we have seen, Jaane Tu ya Ya Jaane Na easily stands out as one of those films, where every character had so much potential and depth that a whole story could have been threaded about them, whether it was Aditiās brother Amit or whether it was Meghnaās heartbreak. One of the characters which I feel, should have been discovered a little more in the film was Aditiās friend-Shaleen , her character may not be the most important one, but she certainly had moments in the film which stays close to your heart.
She was the only one who understood how Aditi felt when was with Meghna. Maybe she knew that Aditi was in love with Jai, before Aditi knew this. During the sequence of the song āNazarein Milana Nazarein churanaā she was the only one who sees it clearly that Meghna being in Jaiās space throughout made Aditi feel like she was suddenly all alone.
This scene where Shaleen makes Aditi realise that , Jai hasnāt changed, he is still the same person, but now the difference was Meghna was in her place. I love how simple it was for her to explain Aditi and Jaiās situation. Friendships can be a weird thing to understand sometimes, you donāt know how feel exactly and most importantly you donāt know why you feel , what you feel. In those times, friends who understand you from your perspective is all one needs. Maybe Shaleen was that friend to Aditi.š»

In Zindagi Gulzar Hai,there are many moments that have been methodically strawed together to carve out an unearthed gem of a drama. But out of all the beautiful scenes this one remains my favourite where Kashaf while describing her meeting with Zaroon while Zaroonās uncle ushered the two to sit down and talk.
From the start of the drama , it was pretty much established that Kashaf was a hermit, suffocating in a raging storm with no way out. Beyond her sisters and mother, Kashaf trusted no one and forever pitied herself against other girls. As Zaroon prevents the cup of tea from spilling onto Kashafās hands. Maybe it wasnāt a grand gesture, but for Kashaf , it certainly was. You see, one has to understand where Kashaf comes from, she has always been the one protecting her family, and for someone to do something for her and that too without giving a split second of a second thought, makes Kashaf feel important and loved in the way she never imagined.
Who on earth could have guessed something as oddly wonderful as chai would resound alarms in Kashafās head? Nonetheless, that is the fragrance of love; pungent, crashing forth like a wave against a dry shore, and almost entirely unpredictable. While explaining to her sister , that, what really made her say āYesā to Zaroon , she says āHow many people ,you know in your life, will not allow a cup of hot tea to fall on your handā? and it makes us realise how sometimes simplest of the gestures of care, can make someone feel important, can make someone feel actually seen. When you feel alone most of your life, with an unfortunate cord of incessant mishaps twined around you like barbed wire ā itās something close to remarkable when someone not just wants to stand by your side, but also rip you from that very cord. This scene was magnificent and is unfortunately often overlooked and not really inhaled in all its purity.

Tia and Arjunās conversation about what would be written in their tombstone is one such beautifully written scene. Everybody who has been following this page, knows how much I love this film and this scene is one more reason why I love it.
Arjun always felt like he has always been the second best in everything he did, he always felt like an underachiever and is diffident, because Rahul was the perfect son of the family. For this reason, he tries his hand at everything to make his parents proud of him. This scene where Arjun pours his entire heart in one line by saying āHo sake toh kahaani yaad rakhnaā it resonates with his thoughts that, how he wants people to remember him , not just by the failures in his life, but by his journey to achieve success, to prove himself.
It makes you think how sometimes, we get so busy thinking just about the outcome of things, that we donāt remember the journey of getting to it. It makes you think, that maybe this is what people want, their story to be remembered, more than money and success, the thing that human being desires the most is identity.
In todayās episode of lyrics I am obsessed with āJaan Nisaarā always stays on the top.
