Who am I??!

Who am I really? It's very hard to get an answer...i don't know myself really....sometimes I feel many different things about me... I want to know myself... I'm searching about myself... it's kind of an advancture...not finished yet...this is not the first portrait or the last! I'm just trying to figure out my physical appearance by drawing myself... while looking at a mirror...other intangible things are hard to capture with eyes... I wish to meet myself and find who am i?!

So i draw a handsome villain...a common predator you found here...
Changeable Hawk Eagle - Spizaetus cirrhatus 🤍🤎🖤
He was planning to do something bad...but the first attempt was failed and then came here to plot next step...he saw i was looking at him... stared at me with his yellow eyes...like "what are you looking at silly girl?" ...That look is hard enough to frighten someone innocent...but i couldn't stop looking at that sharp looking eyes and magestic body with a little crown ... this tree is one of his favorite place...dark and hard to spot...no one to disturb except me
So i wanted to show you that handsome villain and his dark island... Hope you enjoy the drawing!

Hi everyone!... after long time we met again... here's my new story!
When i was going through a dark wooded area ( secret location!) i found some pretty blue flowers. i loved that since it's my favorite color! then i was searching for the scientific name ....but my knowledge is not enough to do that kind of deep analysis. so i ask help from experts and they confirmed it is Memecylon royenii. Thank you for your help! (Himesh Ayya and Mrs. Shiwanthi)
It belongs to family - Melastomataceae and genus - Memecylon.
so you can guess that appearance ... yes, its very close relative of "Blue mist" or "Kora kaha" in Sinhala.
you can find 32 species (may be more than 32) of Memecylon from Sri Lanka. it's an Endemic plant that grows in wet zone ...rather common. (reference - flora of Ceylon )
So it becomes my first attempt of botanical drawing.... I'm not sure about success because I'm seeing many lacking points! i have to study carefully... but I'm happy that I've done this much! so I'm sharing that happiness with you!🥰

Hello everyone! 🤍 it's raining here....we got rain after a long dry period...so it's a happy day! i want to share that happiness with you...so I'm sharing my latest drawing... once i saw a shiny little guy hiding under a leave...at first he was acting shy...then he find out I was taking his photos, and then he became a cute fighter...once he jumped on me...of course he is a jumping spider🥰 i tried hard to capture him because of his beautiful colors and fighting style...then i draw him...i don't know the exact scientific name...if someone know please mention.thank you!

After long time! so how are you my dear friends?...sorry for not posting anything for a long time.
I didn't have much things to do today...so i was watching at the bird bath.... i noticed a beautiful bird coming there...he is called Black-headed Yellow Bulbul ( Pycnonotus melanicterus). he comes to the bird bath when the day is getting hotter.... like an indicator about the temperature...he came with his wife and had a satisfying bath....i think he care about the health more than anyone here....😆 when he is combing his wet feathers, he become a yellow fluffy ball!🥰 how cute!! so i draw him...

last week i was heading home after a long day...there is a natural cannel near the road...one side of the cannel, filled with trees and it is a cool, shady place... good for a exhausted mind....in that darkness i saw something blue....shining like a flower....a beautiful little guy was flicking his tail and looking at me...🥰
A common Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis)... common bird here...it had a black bill, so it is a male bird...he was fishing alone in the evening....he was bobbing his head, as he was trying to cheer me up! 🥰i was so happy to see him,so i draw him...
even if the day is hard and dark, you will find something cheerful and colorful in the end! ❤

Of course! he is so beautiful like a real tiger....vibrant colors like fire! can you imagine being surrounded by this kind of butterflies in a golden morning with soft sun! it was an amazing feeling!
so I draw one butterfly to watch you the colors and enjoy his beauty... put him into your colorless dreams...he will fill it with colors, for sure! ❤🥰

Hello everyone! After long break I came up with a new drawing...
Another beautiful winter visitor " Forest Wagtail" ( Dendronanthus indicus).
This guy has a very interesting habit..... wagging tail and back area deliberately from side to side... It's very funny to see him doing this....In the dark forest floor, while foraging....like he is enjoying some good news secretly.....😅 when i saw him he was searching foods with his wife and friends....there were three couples! may be a family vacation....when they find out i was looking, quickly fly up to a tree branch.... so I draw our winter visitor friend during my little break.

It was close to a wetland area and he was sitting on a branch of a dead tree like a king! .... So he wished us "Good Morning !"with his loud yet cute voice... that day his wife was not around, may be waiting at home....most of days we see them....like friends who meet on our way... So i wished him "Good Morning!" and started my day....another great day!...to make it greater i drew my cheerful friend...with his colorful dresses on a white background...singing loudly... 🥰

This cute guy was feeding on over-ripe "Annona cherimola" fruit. he sure has a sweet tooth!...also they feed on tree sap...his colors are well blend with this kind of environment...how come he have such a beautiful color combination! hm..... So, I wanted to show off my cute friend to you....😊

This weather remind me the days at Sinharaja Rain Forest....one of most beautiful places in this world! 😍
One day we met this handsome guy on our way. I'll introduce him first....this is "Sri Lanka Jungle Fowl" (Gallus lafayettii) the national bird of Sri Lanka.🇱🇰
He is endemic to Sri Lanka....see, such a beautiful creature owns to our land...such a precious jewel!😍 watch carefully, he has all the colors of the sky!colors of day and night...all the colors of sun and clouds...!!!!
I have to tell another story also... that day we were on our way back to Kudawa entrance...when he found that we have biscuits, he was following us😕 its not a good habit..we don't know how did he addicted to this processed food. but its sad to find out that forest birds becoming this way. I'm kindly requesting you, "don't feed processed foods/ artificial foods to wild animals" and "don't put your garbage in forest areas". please be responsible while traveling. this is where we live and breath! so protect our nature!
think about that while enjoying my drawing....you will enjoy this beauty forever, if you protect nature!

Indian Pitta ( Pitta brachyura)
I saw this fight in 2020 - mango season... there were lots of fallen mango under the tree.... the squirrel found a juicy orange mango, which was eaten by his friends from above...so it clearly own to squirrels..😆 but a colorful visitor approach...he was interested in that mango...but the squirrel didn't give up...he was trying to get it also... then the visitor threaten the little squirrel in a cute way...he was trying to threaten him by opening his wings like this drawing...such a beautiful warning! 😍finally squirrel gave up the mango....just because he is a visitor...and he is beautiful!

very common butterfly in Sri Lanka. usually they wait on a leaf and open the wings to get more sunlight... not for a long time...but enough to take a good look....I love their "EYES" on the wing....🥺 so i draw them like this...😊

Red-Wattled Lapwing ( Vanellus indicus ) ❤
There is a paddy field with a banana plantation on other side....these birds often come to paddy fields and when they are flying it's a beautiful scenery.... they are little bit noisy... specially when they have little babies....they start their work early in the morning....yelling at each other about their plans for the day!😅
i couldn't see them for few days....they moved to a new place because of heavy rain here

My old friend... ❤Fishing Cat ( Prionailurus viverrinus)❤
He is not a common visitor here....before 7 or 8 years he came to our pond.... i haven't seen him for many years....didn't get any news....reasons may be the changes in environment...at that time our environment is clean and non-toxic....but now all farmers are using chemicals....all the water streams are polluted by chemicals....so all the fishes are gone...fishes are the main food for fishing cats....and they prefer well wooded habitats....many well wooded areas are clearing for buildings and agricultural purposes...so they have lost their habitats.
I'm waiting..... one day that my old friend will appear in front of me again and glare at me with those sparkling eyes...

Sri Lankan Blue Magpie ( Urocissa ornata)
This well dressed gentlemen was searching foods with his wife. they are very attractive with that vibrant color combination. That's why they are called "The beauty of the forest".... so i got some photographs and drew them.
there is something i should say about them.. it's about their conservation....they are forest birds and their diet should contain natural foods. but lately visitors used to feed them artificial foods, such as biscuits/cooked foods. i saw that they also addicted to that easy food source.... so I'm requesting you, PLEASE DON'T FEED ARTIFICIAL FOODS/ PROCESSED FOOD TO WILD ANIMALS ! ❣️

Woah! I lost my mind when i saw him in my dream....he was such handsome and amazing guy😍🥰 so after waking up I've done a quick drawing....that dream was really better than this drawing...can you imagine..?!..

Since we were little, we saw this cute friends living in our area....Toque Macaque (Macaca sinica) .... they share this lands with us, like our close relatives....sometimes make troubles, but they make our day to day life more live.....having them here is like having an interesting and weird friends....so much fun and thank you for existing!

"A happy place"..... not in our home garden.... there is a huge Kakuna tree (Canarium zeylanicum) which i cant see the top, surrounded by many Fern species (Asplenium nidus - Bird's Nest, .....) this place is a man made and then it turns out it's own way.
this place is like another world....cool, dark and fresh....i don't know how to describe that feeling....it's such an amazing thing. i tried hard to capture that....so you can say your thoughts after seeing the drawing ❤

Palm Squirrel ( Funambulus palmrum) 🐿
Most adorable trouble maker!🥰 you can see them everywhere....running, climbing, searching unpredictable things, yelling and chilling like lazy toys....when you get familiar with them, they will follow you and do the "cute face" trick🥺....so you will become addicted to that cuteness...😅 that's why, i end up drawing them so many times.

Today it's about a spider! if you see him real you would not find who is that...very small (you can compare the scale in the drawing)and similar to a bird dropping or a mantis head.... but he is a Spider who is chilling under a leaf, hiding his legs.... the round thing in the first drawing is his egg sack....i couldn't find the name of this species...but i found his Genus - "Cyrtarachne."
if you know the name of this species, please mention...if you know any expert who know about these things, please mention them...I'd be really grateful for that.
the first photo is a drawing from my field note book.....it doesn't have colors...so i did a color illustration...it is in the second photo.

Today it's another drama about Fantail. 🥰 they are very protective parents...they will fight with whole world to protect their babies...true love !
There are 3 families of Brown Mongoose (Herpestes fuscus) living in the forest.... their little world is so beautiful....like in a cartoon...among bushes in the dark forest...its like a different scale landscape😍
one day a mongoose met a fantail family on his way to paddy field ...the fantail parents get angry and started to attack him....the mongoose was confused...he just came out of the home...fantail parents didn't give any chance...they were attacking continuously while saying " egg thief "////

there are two couples living in our garden...,sexes are alike.
he is very active guy and a good singer! 😄
he got his name because of the habit of fanning tail...their mating dance is very interesting....one day you should watch ! when they start making nests (during January - August)all the spider webs are gone..poor spiders!
sometimes he come to the land while catching insects in the air.... so here he is....🖤🤎🤍
