Not a competition - just a simple give-away. I have two ant colonies - Lasius Niger (Black Garden ant), and Lasius Flavus (Yeallow Meadow ant) that I'd like to give to someone who will care for them and nurture the colony.

I have a jewellers loupe which I’ve been using with my mobile phone. It works quite well for close ups! Here is a photo of my four queen group of Lasius Flavus. (Yellow meadow ants) they’re a really peaceful species found in the UK. Not all ants can have multiple queens, these four girls mates and landed in the same place together.

Having started out keeping ants last summer, I have learned a lot.
Now that the spring is here, I’m happy to say that good things are now starting to happen in my little ant keeping kingdom. Lots of fresh piles of eggs and happy looking little ants! Here’s an extreme close up of the rather enourmous Camponotus Herculeanus!

So as a newcomer to the world of ants, I didn't really know very much about them at all! Since last summer, I've learned a lot and I'm exited to say that I have a Polyrhachis Dives queen arriving and species specific housing from AntboyUK. There are a few other species to document and show you guys.

I'm also exited for my daughter who be able to meet Clara the Black Garden Ant that we caught together last year!
