Gen-X Perspective 23/06/2021

So when I embarked on this adventure called starting a podcast. I knew that it would be a learning experience; I knew that it would be interesting, challenging, maybe. What I didn't expect was meeting a whole new group of people in the podcast community. John Svedese from the basement surge and Podcast to Vodcast, Trish TheDish from GenX Voice just the name two that I now consider friends. I never would've met or known otherwise. I have NOT promoted my podcast; I have NOT started a Facebook group I don't post every day. I basically did this podcast to share my opinions to share my frustrations just to have an outlet. I've surpassed 1000 downloads; what an honor, how exciting, and also how weird that there are 1000 people out there who have listened to me ranting and raving about whatever! Wow, what an experience. A new podcast episode is dropping tonight, Tuesday, June 22nd; check it out. You can find it wherever you listen to your podcast. Thanks for everything, thanks for your support. Tony Randazzo

So I’m happy to say that when I started this episode I thought “how fun, my first interview” turns out we talked for so long that I had to split it into two episodes so this is episode one of a two part series with Trish the Dish from GenX Voice. I had a great time with the launch of my first interview earlier this week Trish featured me on her podcast GenX Voice so it gave us an opportunity to continue our conversations. We sure did go down one or two rabbit holes this episode in particular, we talk about politics and of course the pandemic and how Trish got her self in Twitter jail, just a few examples of what we talked about. Enjoy

This is a repost from a family friend and just had to put it out there so well said...
I am Generation X. Anyone who was BORN between 1965 & 1979, we are the last generation that played outside until dark. We are the FIRST to play video games & the LAST to record songs off the radio onto a cassette tape, we loved roller skating !!! We survived the 80’s with big hair and the era of extravagant everything. We took walks with friends without worry of being taken, we watched cartoons on Saturday mornings while eating a bowl of cereal... we programmed the VCR before anyone else... we remember learning how to use a computer for the first time, we played Atari & Nintendo. We are the generation of Dukes of Hazard, Knight Rider, A-Team, Airwolf, Street Hawk, Miami Vice, Scooby-Doo, Charlie’s Angels, Wonder Woman, Happy Days, & Good Times... We hurried home for the premier of MTV and traveled in cars w/o seat belts or airbags & lived without mobile phones. We went to the high street, Cinema, Bowling Alley, and hunted for friends when they weren't home. We did not have internet, texts, flat screens, surround sound, iPads, Facebook, Instagram or TikTok... But we had a GREAT time All the time with each other!

remember back in the day when you were a kid and you look at somebody in their 40s and thought wow they’re really old and then you look in the mirror and realize you’re that person in your 40’s! holy crap when did that happen? now I truly believe what all those old people said when they talk about ages just a number, now I have to admit the knees hurt the back aches things crack and creek that didn’t in my younger years but damn time flies when you’re having fun. PS still look at people in their 40s and 50s and think damn they’re old :)

So yesterday was the big day and I announced the launch of the GenX Perspective podcast or at least told the world about it. Now we got to get down to business, I am on the hunt for ideas, topics, guests and content for the page. I know that in everybody shares things they enjoy there’s got to be some good stuff out there about Gen Xers, the 80s and 90s, fun stuff, serious stuff, all stuff! the podcast is designed to be entertaining thought-provoking at times, And most importantly fun it’s definitely fun for me to talk about my experiences and memories but I hope that it’s sparks memories or experiences in your life that bring you nostalgia happiness and all that good stuff.
