Last Friday was a landmark day as Boots and Zoey, formerly known as Mika, embarked on their long journey from Texas to New England. A huge shoutout to our stellar transport partners at Tigger's Texas Transport, LLC for making it all possible! By Sunday, they were snuggling up with their forever families, marking the end of a long journey and the start of a new chapter.

Zoey's New Chapter:
Zoey is loving her new life! Her new pal Augie can’t get enough of her, sticking by her side day and night, even sleeping outside her crate. They're exploring the world together with enrichment toys and leisurely walks. Zoey has quickly settled in, mastering commands like 'sit' and 'paw,' and she's a natural leader on the leash, showing Augie the ropes. This happy girl is running the show at home, adapting seamlessly to her family’s schedule and filling their lives with happiness.

Boots' Beachside Adventures:
The moment Boots’ new parents saw his profile, they knew it was meant to be. Their anticipation mirrored a child’s excitement on Christmas morning! Boots has made himself right at home, winning hearts with his playful spirit and goofy antics. His long, elegant legs have earned him the nickname "Bambi," especially as he masters the art of navigating slippery hardwood floors. Now living just a stone’s throw from the beach, Boots is quickly morphing into the ultimate beach boy, destined for a life filled with sand, sun, and fun.

These wonderful updates from their families are heartwarming reminders of the incredible lives these pups are destined to lead. Thanks to all who support and make these journeys possible! 🌊💕

🌟 Exciting News! 🎉 Mr. German, now lovingly renamed Mookie, has found his forever family and is all set for a life-changing journey from Texas to New England this September!

After a month-long wait at the shelter, Mookie's dream has come true. He joins a wonderful family, seasoned in caring for his breed, and ready to welcome him with open arms after the loss of their beloved Steele. 🌈 Mookie is poised to become Luna’s new partner in crime, promising to bring joy and companionship back into their lives.

Named after the talented Mookie Betts, our charming boy is destined for greatness. 🐾 His new family is eagerly awaiting his arrival, and though they haven't met yet, the bond of love is already strong. 💖

A huge congratulations to the Loynd family! We're just as excited for you to meet Mookie and see all the amazing adventures you’ll share. Here’s to new beginnings and happy tails! 🎊

Last week, our sweet and fluffy Godiva found her forever home and is now proudly named Penny! In just a few weeks, Penny will embark on an adventure to meet her new family on the beautiful island of Nantucket, where she'll have a cat sibling named Gus. 🐱 With a grandmother who’s a dog trainer, Penny is in for a life full of fun, learning, and love. 🌟 Congratulations, Courtney and James! We can’t wait to see Penny’s journey and all the wonderful updates! 🌼❤️

Our adorable fluffball Mika has found her forever home! 🏡 She'll soon be meeting her new brother Augie, another southern rescue, and we’re thrilled to see them become the best of friends. Mika will be joining her new family in just a few weeks, and we can't wait to watch her grow and thrive with all the love and care she'll receive. 🐾 Big congrats to Kelsey and Michael! Get ready for endless cuddles and adventures with your sweet girl! ❤️

🌟 Lila’s Journey Home! 🌟

This has been months in the making. Although Lila’s adoption was personal and not handled through PIYHR, everyone involved deserves recognition for their efforts and dedication.

Over the past nearly two months, we faced numerous unknowns and hurdles, including three failed purse strings and one colopexy surgery. But baby Lila has finally made her way to me, Amala (owner of PIYHR).

A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved—those who donated to Lila’s GoFundMe, shared her post, and supported her in any way possible. Lila thrived in foster care thanks to her wonderful foster parents, Christine & Scotty. There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude for these amazing people. While it was a bittersweet goodbye, thank you for trusting me with the next chapter of her life.

None of this would’ve been possible without Bastrop County Animal Services & Tigger's Texas Transport, LLC. They are the best, and having a personal dog come from these two places means so much more.

Shelter Pet Safety Net also played a crucial part in Lila’s journey by handling her health certificate, and a big thank you to Essential Vet Care and Central Texas Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital, who performed her surgery.

I know this post doesn’t acknowledge everyone, but please know your efforts don’t go unnoticed.

✨Exciting News: Boots Has Found His Forever Home!✨

We are overjoyed to announce that our sweet boy, Boots, has finally found his forever home! This moment is so special that we couldn’t choose just one picture—there are too many adorable ones to share!

Boots, with his amazing personality and loving heart, waited far too long for his chance at happiness. Despite being overlooked time and again, he never lost hope. It’s true what they say: good things come to those who wait. And for Boots, the wait was worth it.

A heartfelt thank you and congratulations to Jake and Angela for choosing to open your hearts and home to Boots. Your compassionate decision has given him a second chance at life, filled with love and joy. We eagerly await the moment you finally meet and begin your beautiful journey together! ❤️

While Boots has found a loving home, countless other dogs still need help. Shelters and rescues are struggling to cope with the increasing number of dogs in their care, and the futures of many of these dogs are uncertain. Boots’ fortunate escape from euthanasia stands in contrast to the plight of many of his companions, who are still eagerly waiting for a family or foster home to provide them with love and care.

🐾 Meet Pandora! 🐾

Just like our sweet Lila, Pandora has been bravely battling a re**al prolapse and recently underwent the same surgery that Lila will be receiving tomorrow. She’s currently under the loving care of 4 Little Paws Rescue, based in Connecticut but with many of their furry friends residing in Texas. Right now, Pandora is in Texas, where our amazing rescue/transport partners, Ashley & Roland, are part of her dedicated team.

While we’re tirelessly working to reach Lila’s fundraising goal, Pandora also needs everyone’s collective support. Her medical bill stands at $4000, and so far, they’ve only raised $312. Every bit helps!

🌟 Heartwarming Update Alert! 🌟

This evening, I received the most wonderful update from a former adopter who rescued a sweet pup from us back in July 2022. At the time, his name was Kaspar (a former BCAS pup), but now he’s known as Bandit. 🐾

Bandit’s family just made a big move to Florida, and he’s loving his new home with acres of land to explore and run around in! 🌴🏡 He’s living his best life and has even made a best friend—a playful ferret sibling! 🐕🤎🐾

It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do. Seeing our rescues thriving and happy in their forever homes is the greatest reward. ❤️

Penny, formerly known as Sweet Lily, was adopted back in December when she was at risk of euthanasia. Now, six months later, she has flourished and come so far. We couldn't be happier to see her thriving! ❤️🐾

As many of you know, we work closely with the Bastrop County Animal Shelter, and they have many incredible dogs available for adoption. Some of these wonderful dogs have been waiting far too long for their forever homes. Please share and spread the word so we can help these deserving pups find the loving families they deserve.

This July marks two unforgettable years since Joey (originally Marcy) found her forever home, and what a journey it has been!

Back in 2022, Joey was discovered as a vulnerable puppy under a house, suffering from severe skin issues and desperately needing rescue. Thanks to the unwavering care and dedication at Pearls Place Rescue, Joey's path to recovery began, transforming her into the vibrant, joyful soul she's known to be today. 🐾💕

Through the efforts of our rescue, we were able to network this beautiful girl out of state, leading her to the perfect forever home

Today, Joey is living her best life as a beach bum, bringing joy and laughter to everyone she meets, and is truly the best friend her mom, Jenna, was looking for.🩷

Remember our charming low-rider, Gator, formerly known as Squatty? Adopted last summer, we thought he was a dachshund-lab mix, but surprise—it turns out he's a Great Dane x dachshund mix! 🤯 While we're scratching our heads about the logistics, one thing's for sure: he's undeniably adorable!

Here's the latest from his mom:
"I was just thinking of sending you an update on Gator. He’s doing great! Everyone loves him. He’s a big hit at the dog park. He has traveled with us to Montana and Florida on extended trips in our RV and did very well. He’s a good traveler.He loves car rides and even likes riding in a motorcycle side car. He’s learned to get along well with our cats and is especially fond of one of them, she lets him lick her face and sometimes they sleep together. Our other dog and him are best friends and hang out together all the time. We had Gator’s dna tested and you’ll never guess what he is. He is half dachsund ( no surprise) and half Great Dane! He’s still a bit reactive to dogs when leashed but he is improving and we’re working on that. He’s been a great addition to our family"

Who remembers Mitzi, now known as Opal? Our adorable medium-sized mix found her forever home in August 2022 and is absolutely THRIVING! 🎉 Here's a heartwarming update from her mom:

“she is the queen of comfort and will spend all day on her chair barking at the squirrels or napping. She has a little sister now (Skye) and they are best friends. They do everything together and both bring us such joy.

We have been renting a little house on a lake since last year and she has been loving the outdoors and all the birds that come by. We recently just closed on a house so I'm excited for her to have a big backyard to play and bask in. I call her my agile adventure dog because she goes billy goating up rocks, hills and log piles. She even got into running with me - she's done up to four miles and never even looks exhausted.

I'm so happy she's been in my life and has brought so much joy to everyone she encounters!”
