Pride Month Presentation

The love for music of the Ilocos Norte Voices has always been emphasized and it is put into good use by giving tribute to individuals, groups or demographics that are greatly misunderstood but are important in the society, such is the LGBTQIA++ Community. We always love the qu**rs who brightens up our day with their innate talent in arts and entertainment.

If music is the universal language, then this song entitled Sirena makes for an LGBTQIA++ anthem. This recording features many talents and artists like the remarkable rapper, REDD TWIZTAH fron Batac City. Not to forget, the brilliance of Ilocano Gay Divas, Xian and Lew Jerez Together with IN Voices, this song expresses both the pain of isolation and otherness as well as the jubilant feeling of self-love and community.

So to celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month, we offer you this most memorable song that celebrate the LGBTQIA++ experience. Happy Pride everyone!

The INVoices today give praise to a brilliant man who has been very influential in our lives and our careers. This man’s accomplishment in sports, music, arts and culture will overshadow that of the popularity of the Rosetta Stone. His achievements will rival that of the tallest obelisk ever built. Despite his achievements, he remains low key as he is a man of humility but always benevolent. We are referring to Mr. Arsenio T. Gallego, the Director of the Center for Human Movement Studies of the Mariano Marcos State University. Today, Granma Arsie as he is popularly known to us his children, marks his most wonderful day in the government service and in the academe, bidding farewell to a fruitful and cherished career as an educator and mentor to a lot of students and professionals. His legacy will remain and will be etched forever in the hearts and minds of those whom he has touched and inspired.

So now, the INVoices, a group that has been very dear and near to the heart of Granma Arsie can only be grateful. Our hearts are filled with joy and delight as we celebrate this milestone in the life of Granma Arsie. Only then that we could express such emotion if we sing together for our most loved guru. We sing it with a lot of amor, emotion and passion as we dedicate this song "Handog" to the man of the hour and truly a man of today.

After all, Granma Arsie is really like the song Handog, he is very simple yet a man that is full of substance and subtle yet he touches the hearts of everyone. A song befitting to a man whose contributions will forever be celebrated and remembered even in the next generation.

Happy birthday and enjoy your retirement Granma Arsie!

TALENTS FROM THE SOUTH OF ILOCOS NORTE

Clearly, not everyone is given the gift of art, music and dance. But in the southern part of Ilocos Norte, there are thriving talents that have permeated the mainstream arts and music scenes of Ilocandia. Take for example Jeorge Pastorin, an up and coming Ilocano musician and John Rex Pancho, among the most sought- after composers not only in Ilocos Norte but in Northern Luzon as well.

Jeorge Pastorin’s works are important in defining what Ilocano music is today. He collaborated with other creatives in Ilocos Norte in producing music for festivals and cultural presentations. Most notably, he created music for Badoc’s La Milagrosa Festival, Banna’s Abuos Festival, Batac’s Empanada Festival, among others. He also composed and arranged music for the La Virgen Milagrosa Story.

Jorge and John Rex are now household names when Currimao was declared Champion in the fabled Tan-ok ni Ilokano Festival. The two talents’ collaboration was indeed a success. They composed the song with its famous line “Taga Currimao kami, panagdaklis ti pagsapulan mi”. It was made even grander with the talent of Rowell Tagatac who did the choreography. Together they presented the most cherished musical extravagnza that has captured the hearts of many Ilocanos. Let us relive this exciting masterpiece of Jeorge, John Rex and Rowell. Come and sing with the Ilocos Norte Voices while dancing to the rhythm of it as well.

Manhattan used to be the busiest in the world but today is so quiet... very few people on the streets and stores are all closed except for a few. But life must go on... we never give up!

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”

JUST FALL IN LOVE.

Ilocos Norte Voices records yet another classic song and I think that there will ever be any romantic song that is as uplifting, powerful and emotionally performed like this one by a choral group with members rooted in Ilocandia. “When I Fall In Love”- the song written by Victor Young (music) and Edward Heyman (lyrics), popularized by Celine Dion and Clive Griffin as a soundtrack of the movie Sleepless in Seattle, is truly a dream for us to record.

More so that we are enthralled with the participation of our guest performer, MR STUART R. WILSON KILMACOLM, a Tenor from the Royal Choral Society and Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Notably, this piece of recording was arranged by Kirby Shaw- an arrangement of delicate rhythms and sweeping harmonies.

You will really fall in love with the song, no matter where you are, what you are doing and what mood you are in, the song just touches your heart and you are thrown into the heavens. Listen to the music and get ready to wander and get lost in the song. A perfect escape from the dreary world we are in. Somehow, the song calms your mind and improves everyone’s good taste for music.

Presenting to you the first-ever performance that combined the best talents from the world of Ilocano music- the Ilocano Voices!!!

What could be more delightful in these darkest of times than for us to make beautiful music like the fabled Ilocano folk song “O Naraniag a Bulan”- arranged by the very exquisite music master and fellow Ilocano based in Florida, Nhick Ramiro Pacis. This rendition of the song gives us a spark of hope and a shining beacon that will help us traverse life amid the uncertainties that lie ahead of us. This is also a tribute to the many frontliners in our fight to survive this pandemic.

Now listen to our voices spreading the beauty of Ilocano music, showcasing Ilocano virtousity!

Watch out for the launching of ILOCOS NORTE VOICES.

We are lucky to have been gifted with musical intelligence thus my inclination to music was made even richer to this day. We’ve also had the pleasure of hearing choral groups on numerous occasions and in doing music with the most talented musicians, singers and music gurus in Ilocandia.

This group will be recording with voices coming from Australia, Europe, the Philippines and here in New York and is a testament of the great ilocano talent. This recording also scratches the surface of what we as Ilocano singers can showcase, with our vocal prowess and musicality.

We hope that in listening, you will find our voices in beautiful timbres creating lush harmonies that truly succeeds our hope to inspire people. We certainly hope that we get to do more projects that uplifts the soul and spirit. Our first recording will be released very soon!
