Hello new display! Finally found the time to update my display game 😎✨
Small biz life is always having a mental to do lists that’s never ending and then suddenly having these bursts where you cross off a bunch of them at once. Secret high-five for me! 🥳

By the way if you are a shop selling mimimono’s you can order these babies from me. They’re about 29x19 cm and can fit up to 5 models. Also offcourse made from Greencast Acrylic.

Making shapes ◾️➰✖️〰️⚫️
A big part of my love for mimimono is in designing, combining and color coding each different shape that eventually becomes part of the collections. It keeps feeling special to grab a handful of shapes out of the laser which you drew yourself and to see their contour being cut out of the shade of acrylic you chose for it.
My personal fave keeps being the Half Moon, so simple yet perfectly geometric. What’s yours?

Did a big restock at today. So many styles where sold out 🥹 thanks so much to everyone purchasing a pair of mimimono’s lately! I’m super happy this little biz of mine is doing well and keeping me busy. Maybe it was extra busy because of the holidays? I do kinda feel like I could use a break myself 😅 so will spend the rest of this afternoon out in the sun 😎

Spring colors 🌸 these made me think of spring whilst I was prepping them. With a little burst of thunder on the side, just like the weird spring weather we’ve been having in Amsterdam at the moment.

New design: Brutalist III

Often when you think of Brutalist architecture hard lines and concrete shapes come to mind. However I think that harshness cannot exist without a bit of softness. These curved dangly earrings give a soft edge in graphic black acrylic. Perfectly framing the edge of your jaw line, which is such a beautiful spot to accentuate.

New mini collection BRUTALIST 🌚
I love architecture and have a special soft spot for chunky brutalist buildings in all their concrete glory. This model was inspired by those great balcony-like structures on The Barbican in London. Which is an amazing building by the way!

Popped into the for a little delivery of some Cara emerald greens. Always fun to see my items displayed so nicely 😊 I especially like those tube lights in the background, would def like some of those in my new place 👌

Lots of orders being sent out! Which makes me super happy ‘cause not only is it cool to see mimimono going places. It’s also been a little rough start to the year. Having my work and creativity to focus on has been such a good thing. Let’s hope this year brings lots of good stuff in the form of great designs, new colors, more efficiency and maybe even a new studio space 🤞🏻✨

Starting up the new year slowly. I’m looking forward to updating my collections. Fine tuning my processes and also just having a bunch a fun ⚡️

Because making and designing should be fun firstly. As a small business it can sometimes feel overwhelming dealing with all the aspects of running a business. For this year I want to grow more confident in that respect and also just do my thing 😎

Pfew! Been working my 🍑 off to organise and make all the December wholesale orders, webshop orders ánd special festive event preparations! 🎄It’s been a hectic few weeks in the studio with lots of lasercutting, bending metal, opening and closing of boxes. A little production machine. Seems like we are starting to see the end of it, final push and all that 💪🏻 so if you have placed an order, thank you so much! It really makes me so happy to see this lil’ business grow 🖤

Hello Spectral Colors!
Last mini collection drop before the end of the year is here ✨ which is your fave? I would love to know!

Spectral: A wavelength of light is perceived as a spectral color.
When viewed as a continuous spectrum, these colors are seen as the familiar rainbow 🌈

Sometimes it can so difficult to carve out time for creation and play and just making. Happy I got to spend the morning by myself making shapes and playing with color combinations. Cooking up something new 😊

What’s in a name 〰️
Ever wondered what mimimono means?
Japan is a never ending source of inspiration for me. My favourite country in the world, my happy place. So when picking a name I wanted it to have a small Japanese connection.

In Japanese mimi 耳 means ear and mono 物 objects making mimimono ear objects!

Ever wonder how you go from this mess to a mimimono? Too be honest most of the making part isn’t very glamorous 😅 lasering and sorting, then glueing - waiting - assembling and finally boxing everything up. And since it’s all me who does this it can become a bit of a production line. However when I’m in the zone in the studio I love doing it. Seeing something that once was in your head become a physical thing in the world is such a great feeling!

Well hello, it’s been a while 🪁 finally getting back to some much needed updates and putting new models online. Who else get’s super procrastinated every summer? I basically just want to hang around and eat icecream 24/7 😅

But am happy to share these new transparant blue beauties. They are called midnight, after the blue hues of the design and because I always seem to be dreaming about architecture 🏙

And while I’m always shy about getting my picture taken I was actually pretty pleased with this one ☺️ mind you there where a lot more with me looking more like this 🤡

Dropped off some mimimono’s at in Amsterdam city centre this weekend. It’s been super sunny lately and jt was a real relief to enjoy the cool airconditioned inside of the shops while I was there 😅😎
