Wow that eclipse was incredible!! Eerie to see the darkness and birds change behavior . Impactful to have the reminder of our dependence on the sun and our place in the universe!

I'm getting ready for the Mushy Mush performance on Feb. 15. I have a lovely lineup of original work from both of my poetry collections, but there are so many great love poems out there that I want to share some of my favorite works from other poets, too.
I want to share your favorites, too. Send me your favorite love poem and I may be able to include it in the show! If it's your original work, be sure to come to the show to share your socials!

What a treat to experience the Broadway sinfonietta with Spider-Man into the Spiderverse! It was intense and memorable all around- I hadn’t seen the movie yet and learned it’s about time. The music was breathtaking and engaging. I’m so happy for Theresa May and Shanyse Strickland in their musical endeavors, and glad they got to experience this 3 mo tour, and connect with more amazing artists and humans along the way! 💜 Creating and connecting- that’s some of the best stuff of life! ✨
One of my adult students lent me her copy of The Creative Act by Rick Rubin. I’m only a bit of the way through and it is mind-blowingly good imho.
Excerpt from Ives’ Set for Theater and orchestra. Woo! I guess I will figure out if I can play all of these notes.
Excited to work with the Cleveland Chamber Symphony!

Hi friends,
In case you need something to do this Sunday Mar 20, between 1:30 and 3pm I'm collaborating with my photographer friend Hal Mitcheltree at Avon Lake Public Library for a showing of his work. I'll be playing some classical music to complement his exhibition and "Meet the Photographer" event.
Here is his website if you'd like to see some of his beautiful work. Most of the photos were taken locally in and around the Cleveland Metroparks:

Some more Debussy for you :)
From Preludes Book I, IV. "Les sons et les parfums tournent dans l'air du soir"
Just for fun
Arrangement of Firestone by Kygo. It was fun and challenging to put together and I hope you like it. Thanks Marcos for the song request!
I hope you enjoy "Spring Intermezzo" from Four Seasonal Sketches, composed in 1955 by Betty Jackson King. She grew up in Chicago and went on to conduct choirs and workshops in many states. King was president of the National Association of Negro Musicians from 1979 to 1984.
A little arrangement of Ribbon in the Sky by Stevie Wonder. I just love this song, and am so glad the gigs I'm playing lately they will let me play whatever I want :) Hope you enjoy.
Megan Denman Pianist
I’ve been excited about the piano since age 7, and have continued to find joy in performing and teaching piano. My favorite and most adept performance setting is collaborative, working with other instrumentalists and vocalists in small settings. I relish performing contemporary classical works that incorporate jazz or modern genres. I also enjoy playing various styles of music for weddings and parties. I love to perform because it allows me to connect with and inspire others and brings me inner harmony.
I teach my students piano skills so they can have a greater understanding of themselves and the music they most love to play and listen to. By showing them efficient practice techniques I ensure my students craft a gratifying musical journey. My Music Teachers National Association membership and volunteer work with Ohio MTA keeps me engaged and up-to-date on the latest piano pedagogy practices.
I earned my B.M. in Piano Performance from Baldwin-Wallace University in 2008, and M.M. in Piano Performance from the University of Akron in 2010. My piano instructors include Dr. Robert Mayerovitch and Ms. Laura Silverman, and organ instructors Dr. Margaret Scharf and Dr. Barbara McGregor. I studied jazz piano for three years with Rock Wehrmann and am grateful for the knowledge of improvisation and jazz to keep me versatile as a performer and instructor.
