Our retreats are a transformational life experience & heal, and inspire your body, mind, and soul.
I love having a cuddle with Bliss. Jeff calls her Sue’s Bliss. She always makes me feel so happy. She is one of the six Baby Doll sheep that share our lives. We adopted them when they were in need of a new home and they were instantly a part of our family. At first they were quite nervous of me and the changes in their life. They are very sensitive and wary of strangers. I knew I needed to earn their trust. Every evening I would sit with them in the barn and sing to them. I would sit closer and closer and, over many weeks, they finally trusted me. Earning the trust of an animal is a beautiful feeling. It’s real, they don’t pretend about their feelings. All the sheep have very different personalities. Bliss is quite laid back and doesn’t get too excited, where Blossom is quite shy and more nervous, Mickey is the protector of the flock and stands guard if he thinks there is a threat.
I really like having animals in our family. I love being around them, they bring me great joy, peace, and comfort. They are some of my best friends. At our retreat centre, I want people to be around the animals if they would like to, so they too can benefit from their healing powers. Animals offer us amazing therapy. As well, when we learn about animals, we can understand them, and when we understand them, we will care about them, and when we care about them, we will want to protect them. Living compassionately is one of the greatest ways to raise our personal energy.
Our Baby Doll Sheep; Bliss, Blossom, Bella, Bonnie-Lass, Mickey and Mack are some of the animal ambassadors at Wild Heart Spirit Heart working with us to improve the treatment of animals through our desire to help create a loving and compassionate world.
Walking the labyrinth 🐓
Life itself is a journey of many steps. With twists and turns we discover our path, sometimes very intentional, sometimes with surprises, the direction reveals itself. We wish for answers, meaning, healing, and inspiration. We may hope to connect with ourselves on a deeper level of truth about our own existence. The labyrinth represents our journey inward to our heart and soul; a gentle, peaceful path guiding us on a natural flow towards the centre of our being - a welcoming space to ask questions, set intentions, or quiet the mind to inner calmness. Our walk outward from the centre of the labyrinth is our return to the world around us. Returning to our life, perhaps with more clarity, renewed, and inspired.
Labyrinths have been a part of people’s pilgrimages for thousands of years. The labyrinth at Wild Heart Spirit Heart is a replica in size and design of the Chartres Labyrinth in the Chartres Cathedral in France, built in the early 13th century. In France it was a sacred space for travelers seeking sanctuary and guidance.

If I were to think of any animal while sitting in the Crown Chakra garden, I would think of the Spirit Bear. Not only because they are white but because they feel magical and other worldly. They have an ethereal beauty. On a deeper level it has to do with our personal connection to Spirit Bears. In particular to one young Spirit bear who became our friend.
Almost 30 years ago Jeff, and Chelsea, our six-month-old daughter, and I lived on a remote coastal island for two years making a film for the BBC. There were wolves, black bears, and white bears who had absolutely no fear of us. At that time no-one went deep into the forest and we felt they had never seen people before. When we met, they would come right up to us. I believe they were responding mainly to our energy. We felt love, respect, and gratitude towards them. Animals are very attuned to the emotional energy of others. I think they feel it and see it.
It was a transformative and spiritual experience to be in the presence of these incredible animals and be completely accepted into their world - a world beyond what I had ever experienced or could have imagined.
Energetically it helped connect us to our crown chakra. Our Crown Chakra opens us up to the universal consciousness. Our consciousness expands in the understanding that we are all one and we are interconnected. The pureness and beauty of the nature and the animals on the island and our being a part of it, connected us to this higher level of consciousness.
The Earth Vortex in our garden was an unexpected gift. We had never even imagined one being in the land. After the ground was cleared of fallen down trees and brush, Jeff and I sat on the hillside looking down over the space where the garden would be. As I looked at the land I had a strong feeling of an energy vortex in a circular form. I was given the image of three standing stones positioned around the circle, each eleven feet apart. The energy there was undeniable. We later discovered two intersecting earth energy lines, or ley lines, crossing through the vortex. It filled me full of wonder at discovering this earth energy center. Placing the large stones and marking the ring of energy became our first project in the garden.
There are many famous large earth vortexes around the world. Among them are Stonehenge in England, the Great Pyramid in Egypt, Ayers Rock in Australia and many more. There are also many uncharted smaller vortexes on earth. I have flown over places in the wilderness and felt intense earth energy erupting out of the landscape. So powerful that it brought me to tears as I sat in the helicopter.
This energy can give you a deeper sense of something very profound, both within yourself and beyond yourself. Some people describe their experience in the vortex as incredibly peaceful, healing, inspiring, calming. Some people meditate there, some sleep there, some journal or paint there. Many just stay present, in the moment, connecting to the energy of our beautiful magnificent Mother Earth.

A cheerful red English phone booth takes her place on the hillside overlooking the garden. She is tucked in beneath some stately evergreens where she can connect to the breezes that carry our messages. She is a Wind Phone. Inspired by the original Wind Phone, in Otsuchi, Japan. Created by Itaru Sasaki to connect to his deceased cousin who had passed from cancer. Itaru was incredibly grief stricken and could not find a way to express his loss. He built a Japanese phone booth on a hill in his garden as a place to connect and talk to his cousin and called it “The Wind Phone”. A wind phone because it was not connected by wire, only by the winds reaching out to Spirit. Over 30,000 people have now traveled to his booth to have the opportunity to share their messages with their lost loved ones.
I was so moved by Itaru's story that I wanted a similar place in our garden. An honored space to share our feelings with those we have lost from the physical world. We chose an English booth because they are ever so quaint and charming.
Jeff and I have also spent much time over the years living in England and we had fallen in love with the images of the red English 'phone boxes' that were the cornerstone in every village. As cell phones replaced phone booths, the red delightful boxes were now in search of new homes and new purposes. Our booth found her way from the tiny village of Dancing Cross onto a barge and across the ocean to Victoria, B.C. Jeff and I picked her up and brought her to the wilds of the Cascade Mountains to her new home in the Wild Heart Spirit Heart garden.
Hello, Dear Ones,
My name is Zuzana, a Holistic Health Coach and the creator of life-giving meals here at Wild Heart Spirit Heart.
Growing up in former Czechoslovakia I was brought up on hearty, home-cooked meals - meaning I found my passion for cooking fairly quickly. I have sweet memories of baking, canning and cooking Sunday meals with my grandmother. I learned from her that cooking for other people and sharing moments around the table develops a special loving bond.
Adopting a plant-based diet, when I was around 16, allowed me to connect to cooking in a more meaningful way. Through exploration and experimentation, I have discovered that plant-based cuisine is a skill and art in itself.
I feel blessed to be part of the Wild Heart Spirit Heart Family. For me, cooking is a powerful tool and I see my "work" in the kitchen as part of my own yoga practice - service to others and the way I can express my love and compassion.
I believe that “cruelty-free” quality food can make a real change toward a better and more peaceful society and I look forward to sharing the beauty of plant-based food with you!
I hope to meet you soon!
🙏🤍☀️

Hello, I am Nikki Lefler. I feel truly blessed to share Wild Heart Spirit Heart with all those who visit. It really is a high vibrational and healing place - don’t just take my word for it, come experience for yourself!
Long story short… the universe conspired in order to help me achieve what I always dreamed… to be part of a place where people can visit and slow down, recalibrate, reconnect with themselves and find the answers or healing they are seeking.
When I was younger, I found myself curious about everything… this carried through to later in my life and led me on my path to vibrant health and vitality. I would ask myself things like… what will this food I am eating do for me? How does moving my body affect me - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually? What is my intention with what I am doing… Always inquiring… and always listening. When we quiet ourselves enough we will find the answers.
Through my own experiences in life and what I have come to understand so far - I feel it is deeply rooted in my soul to inspire and encourage others to be vulnerable, to live from a place of love, to slow down, to notice the world around them, nourish themselves (in all ways), and to embrace every bit of joy & bliss offered from this life.
I can’t wait to connect with you at our upcoming retreats! You will find me leading the Wild Heart Spirit Heart yoga practices, helping Zuzana in the kitchen or doing chores around the property.

Stay curious - stay humble!

The heart of the Blue Bird kitchen is McClary, the old wood cook stove. She warms the room even when there isn’t a fire burning in her belly. Her soft pastel colors of green and yellow reflect the romantic impression she had already lived. McClary holds the energy of our grandmothers and great grandmothers. That energy speaks to people who come to the Blue Bird. “It was love at first sight when I saw this little wood stove for sale beside the highway. There was no justification to buy it, other than love, and so sensibly I drove away. Then as fall was turning to winter, Jeff surprised me one late afternoon when he drove up our driveway with the precious McClary in the back of our pickup. There was no village, no cottages, just an old wooden floor in the trees, leftover from a tenting site. We unloaded the stove on the floor, wrapped it in a tarp, stored away for some time in the future." The secret that no one knows is the magic that the little stove held within her and what happened through the love she released. “In the early spring I would walk through the remaining snow and sit in the March sunshine beside McClary. I visited her often, and as I sat, romantic visions of what could be started to emerge from around the little wood stove. Images of a screened in summer kitchen, flowers, lace, candles, cushions, little cottages tucked in the trees on the mountainside, bird houses, old fashioned furnishings, soft rose patterned fabrics, the kettle simmering on the stove, it all streamed from my heart. The simple yet beautiful details that would bring warmth and joy to one’s being." 'What if ' and 'could we’, turned into a family project and a tiny village grew all from the love and magic of a little wood cook stove.
Hi, I’m Sharon, I’ve been with Wild Heart Spirit Heart for five years. I’m a certified aromatherapist. I love understanding the therapeutic affects of essential oils.
Born into a farming family, I grew up with a deep knowing that the earth is what sustains and nourishes us. After obtaining degrees in business and education, I became a chartered accountant and worked for over a decade in corporate positions. During these years I could not shake the deeper knowing that my path lay elsewhere. Wanting to know what else the world had on offer; my husband, Neil, and I packed our belongings, sold our home, and set off on a multi-year bicycle journey. Living outdoors twenty-four hours a day, in sync with natural rhythms led to many amazing experiences in over thirty countries. From the fjords of Norway to the desert outback in Australia’s red center, the land spoke to me. I felt the love and support of the earth everywhere. I had a renewed confidence in the world. Meeting so many generous open-hearted people, and connecting deeply with the land, gave me hope for the future. Neil and I completed our transition from corporate city existence to rural life near BC’s Cascade wilderness. We raised two children, while continuing a love affair with the land. The mountains, rivers, lakes and our own garden provided plenty of opportunity to connect with Gaia and grow spiritually. Aromatherapy is a natural extension. It is like nature in a bottle. Energetically I love essential oils. I feel connected when I’m using them. I want others to experience the joy, inspiration, and uplifting energies they provide. Oils are amazing tools to aid in healing and spiritual growth.
How did Wild Heart Spirit Heart enter my life? Fortunately for me, one day out of the blue, I received a phone call from earth angel Susan Turner asking if I would provide an aroma massage for her retreat guests. My intuition didn't have to work very hard for me to say yes. Before long I was helping to create the gardens and have been involved with Wild Heart Spirit Heart ever since. I look forward to meeting you and sharing the joy of essential oils.
Hello lovely humans,
I’m Andrea, 30 years old and since last year proudly part of the Wild Heart Spirit Heart family. My journey began with growing up in the big city of Berlin in Germany. Originally I worked as a controller in the finance sector. I always knew that this wasn’t what I wanted to do in life. I decided to follow my inner calling and find out what really excites me. I quit my secure and well-paid job and took a year off for my adventure of self-exploration. It was the starting point of a journey of self-healing, finding my purpose in life, and selfcare. I finished a course as a vegan-nutritional coach and realized that I wanted to educate myself further in the area of health. Nutrition is a big part of health but I wanted to get a more holistic view of it. Motivated by taking my health into my own hands and working on several health issues like my asthma, I joined a life-changing program from the Institute for Aliveness. I realized that when we start to listen carefully to ourselves a beautiful healing journey can begin. Meanwhile my partner and I decided to travel around the world. We sold all of our belongings and started our trip to Canada. The plan was to stay for 6 months and then go to Asia. In May of 2022 we connected with Sue and Jeff and decided to help them for one month to prepare everything for the retreats. We fell in love with the vision, the place, and the people so we decided to become a part of the Wild Heart Spirit Heart family.
Following my inner calling has brought me to a place where I can live my life's purpose, which is to help humanity and the earth to heal and find love and peace. Welcome home.
I hope to meet you in the upcoming retreats later in the summer. I will be in India in June finishing the health coach program. I have the opportunity to learn from a wise person there and also do a yoga-instructor course in Rishikesh. I will be back for the retreats in August and September. Hope to see you and we can learn from each other. Lots of love
The Wild Heart Spirit Heart garden was inspired. Each aspect of the garden was given in a message from Spirit. The garden was not designed on paper ahead of time. We didn’t even know exactly what we wanted in the garden. Its form took place one vision at a time. We did have an intention when we first imagined the garden and that was to bring together the highest forms of vibrational energy through colour, shape, sounds, crystals, plants, animals, etc. Visions came often and the energy that accompanied them was very uplifting and invigorating. You could feel a palpable excitement in the air. The first part of the garden that appeared was the Earth vortex. Jeff and I were sitting on the hillside, looking down where the garden would be, and I began to sense the energy from the Earth. I was shown the image of three standing stones around a circle where the vortex was. The Chakra garden design was also unexpected. Spirit gave me the message of the Fibonacci Sequence or Golden Ratio one evening. I had never heard of Fibonacci. It’s a powerful mathematical formula, discovered in India around 200 B.C., that forms a spiral. The Golden Ratio is found in most of nature; in shells, in flowers, in galaxies, and countless other places. We studied it and incorporated it into the garden with each individual Chakra garden placed along the rise of the spiral. Many times when Sharon, Jeff, and I were just standing on the land, the placement of something would become naturally apparent. We would all share the same feeling of where something was meant to go. The phone booth, or wind phone created for talking to loved ones in Spirit, just felt right being above the Crown Chakra garden. We would ‘feel’ what we should do, not ‘think' what we should do. I believe that the higher vibrations of ‘being' that created the gardens are still very much a part of them. Every part of the garden has a story, something very meaningful. From time to time, through our Instagram posts, we will share the stories with you.
Hello, I’m Susan Turner. I’m so excited to be sharing the inspiration and creativity of Wild Heart Spirit Heart through our Instagram posts.
First let’s start with the name ‘Wild Heart Spirit Heart’. The name began as a way I saw myself; having a heart that connected with nature (Mother Earth) and also a heart that connected to Spirit and the Divine Universe.
I have lived much of my life in the wilderness with my husband Jeff and our two children. We were wildlife documentary filmmakers and lived in the wild with bears, wolves,
and many other incredible animals. Then at the age of forty, I had an unexpected and profound connection to people in Spirit and to energy healing. Through my next eighteen years of self-discovery I was beginning to understand our soul’s journey and the emotional and physical healing paths we travel. I went on to write a book called 'Wild Heart Spirit Heart' about my unexpected expedition into the spiritual realm.
I became incredibly inspired to create the gardens of Wild Heart Spirit Heart so people could have an opportunity to experience the energy of Nature, Spirit and discover their own ways of connecting to their heart and soul. This might be for healing, physically or emotionally, or finding their inspiration and their own truth, or both. It may also be to enjoy the peace and beauty and rejuvenate. Whatever it is, I have come to find that we all have a ‘Wild Heart’ and a ‘Spirit Heart’. We all are aware on a deeper level that we have a belonging and a relationship with the earth (nature), with Spirit and the Universe. Just lay on your back in the grass on a warm summer evening and watch the stars, in one moment, simultaneously, your heart will connect with both the Earth below you and the Universe above you.
