Unfortunately, no amount of sit ups will ‘burn’ fat from your tummy.

We gain fat from consuming more energy than the body required- this excess fat is primarily stored under our skin and around our organs.

Our bodies decide where we store it first. They also decide where it is lost from first.

The only method of losing unwanted body fat is to be in a negative energy balance ⚖️ for a continued period of time.

🖤ONE YEAR IN BUSINESS🖤

This week marks my first year in business….. and what a year it’s been 💥

It’s been a huge learning curve & I definitely underestimated the time and effort it takes to run a successful business- kudos to those trying day in day out to make their business viable 👏

I feel extremely fortunate to have worked with over 30 ladies this year, it’s been a privilege to be a part of their journeys 🫶 I am loving the work I continue to do with my 1-2-1 clients and hope to get back to group coaching in the near future!

Things may have slowed down in recent months whilst I juggle pregnancy with full time work, motherhood and being CEO ⚖️ however this is just the beginning, the best is yet to come! 🙌🏻

Thank you to those who supported me on this journey 🙏🏼🖤

Sorry I’ve been quiet! 🤫

Sometimes life throws huge curve balls that are unexpected and unsettling ☹️ That’s exactly what happened to me in January and I’ll be completely honest my head just wasn’t in the right place to continue with my social media 🤯

I have continued to coach my 1-2-1 clients (thank you girls 🙏🏼) which I absolutely love and will continue to do! ♥️ As I adjust to these new changes in my life, I hope to return to sharing my content with you.

Here’s to the next chapter 📖

Many of us are so focused on a number on the scales that we lose sight of what’s actually important- feeling happy, strong and healthy!

It is a privilege to work with clients who trust me to make changes that are out of their comfort zone. In this case, increasing calories and swapping cardio for weights.

Yes she’s built muscle 💪yes shes improved her overall health and fitness, both of which she should be incredibly proud of. But without doubt the most impressive change here is MINDSET, which will positively impact the rest of her life ❤️

⏱️ Have you ever considered how quickly you eat your food?

🔬Research shows that faster eating is associated with a higher BMI. In other words, reducing the speed at which you eat your food can contribute towards having a lower BMI.

👆🏻If you are someone who wolfs your food down AND you want to lose some body fat, make a conscious effort to slow down at meal time.

If so, you could be waiting a while ⏰ In my experience, motivation follows action. It’s never easy to begin with, in fact it can feel impossible 🗻

However, once you start to get that ball in motion and gain some momentum, motivation increases.

In addition, once you start to see the results of your hard work, motivation peaks 🎢 by which time your consistency with your diet and exercise is forming new habits that are far more likely to become permanent in your life.

People often say to me, ‘I don’t know how you have the motivation to go to the gym week after week’.

The truth is, I fell in love with lifting weights and how it makes me feel, both physically and mentally.

It’s far easier to make time for things that you love doing, as opposed to the ones that feel like a chore.

In order to set yourself up for success, find a way to move your body that you actually enjoy.

There is still time this year to try something new, that might just change your life.

If your “diet” is only ever lasting a matter of weeks, likelihood is, it’s too restrictive.

Over restriction leads to resentment, which is why you give up. The only way this is ever going to be successful long term is if you actually enjoy the process.

If you want to change, then something has to change.

Try increasing your calories, allow for your chosen indulgences, and you will create a bigger calorie deficit on average over time, leading you to sustainable fat loss that is actually enjoyable.

For those who don’t know me, let me introduce myself….

I’m Emma, 31 years old, living in Northwest England.

I began my working life in the health & fitness industry aged 16, whilst studying at college and then university. At 21, I left my job in the gym and began my career as a scientist.

My passion for health & fitness never left me, and in 2017 I qualified as a Level 3 Personal Trainer. The 5 years that followed have been a roller-coaster; I got married, I suffered and overcame a severe anxiety disorder, I gave birth to my son Oliver, and I set up my Personal Training business.

I certainly understand the juggle of working life, mum life & personal life, and as a result I have developed a coaching method to suit just that. I practice what I preach, I educate at every opportunity, and ultimately provide clients with a tool kit that they can use for the rest of their life.
