Happy New Year 2023!
Lots of interesting water polo developments to come this year... starting with a bang next weekend - trials for U18 Boys SW squad on Saturday and for the new National Talent Centre in Bristol on Sunday. Not sure how we feel about either at present π³
No time to be sluggish after the mountain of food and screen-time over Christmas...
Let's go! πͺπ€½ππ€
Where I started my water polo, aged 11! π (There are some shots of me trying to catch the speedy Alexander Fewtrell here! π€£)
Tiverton Water Polo Club invite new members to join them for the new year They say it has lasting benefits for both old and young alike
Wishing all water polo players and supporters everywhere a relaxing and happy christmas!
Team Sponsors 2022 - Thank you!
As a reminder of our 2022 Team Sponsors, all as shown below. Links to all these supportive businesses can be found on the club website's home page.
Mum's new bottle! π
We are super grateful to Exeter City Football Club for the donation of two adult and two U18 match tickets to the Grecians' home match against Cambridge United on Saturday 25th February 2023.
We are going to have an online raffle for these in the run up to Christmas. ππ§βππβπ€ΆβοΈ
**Just 30 numbers at Β£2 per number.**
A fab present for an Exeter City fan if you win... and, if you don't, you can still give yourself a big pat on the back for supporting a local lad - Mr Ginger AJ - (Oh lord, he's going to kill me!) to achieve his water polo aims!
Please comment to purchase (via PayPal to [email protected]) and your name will be added to the list below.

Anyone interested in cheap soft toys as Christmas stocking fillers?
ππ»π΅π―πΆππ°π¦πΈπ¦π·π₯π§ππ§Έβ€οΈ
We were donated lots of lovely cuddlies to help with fundraising (the plan was to do a teddy tombola) but Mum's recent ill health and lack of free time has left us with huge bags of toys which need to go before Christmas!
Each picture is just Β£1.00! (apart from the three large teds at Β£1 each)
If anyone is interested in the 50+ large group of toys - see last photo - we will accept Β£5.00 for the lot.
Thank you to all our kind supporters π
A busy night again tonight! π
Another week of matches and training both at Exeter and South West Academy.
It's been a tough month or so, having not being well in October, then away visiting family in Turkey (where the pool was freezing!) and again off ill from school this week. π
Not exactly dominating but not quite drowning yet either! π
π²π Scary stuff... AJ's been asked to go with the Exeter City Men's 1st Team to play against Bristol. His debut as a senior squad member! A huge step up but so much to be learnt from the experienced and talented seniors. πͺππ―
The "out-takes" π€£π€£
So here are the prizes for each winning number...π

Home from National Academy camp at Millfield. A brilliant 5 days of hard work and great fun. New mates made within the 2007 boys training squad and all the players have improved significantly π
New kit doesn't exactly suit AJ's colouring (being the only ginge in the squad!) but you can't have it all! π§βπ¦°π
Here are photos of some of the prizes kindly donated for my raffle. Will add more later...
** Don't forget that numbers are still available at Β£2 each until the end of August, when the draw will take place. **

Thank you πππ
Had a great session on Friday night at the pool in Totnes. ππ¦
My brilliant swimming teacher Sally Alberici-Trueman - who I haven't seen for about 7 years - put me through my paces and gave me some helpful tips to improve my strokes.
You can't be a good water polo player without being a good swimmer so I'm always trying to improve!
This coming week I'm back to training at Exeter after the club's summer break and then off to the National Academy training camp for five days from Wednesday. The muscles might be aching a bit by Sunday! π
Another busy day!
We spent the morning at Tesco selling some raffle numbers, shaking a bucket and chatting to the shoppers.
Huge thanks to those who were kind enough to donate or buy tickets!
Special thanks must go to Ben, Luke and Dan who gave up their Saturday morning to help us. Sadly Poppy and Laura couldn't make it due to the dastardly Covid (get well soon Poppy!)
Grid numbers are still available and we have a new prize added of a spa experience at the new St Sidwell's Point in Exeter (home of Exeter City Water Polo π¦)!

Hello to all our water polo friends and supporters! π¦π€½
As AJ moves forward along the talent pathway for his sport we are very grateful to all those who are helping him... His fab coaches, fellow teammates (who enjoy ribbing him mercilessly!), friends and family who are chipping in to help with the ever-increasing costs.
Now we are spreading the net in the hope of finding local businesses and independent sponsors to support his dream of becoming a top water polo athlete and representing his country.
Today we have started a Go Fund Me fundraiser (see link below) and are also asking if anyone has anything they could donate for AJ to raffle off this summer to help pay for his National Academy residential course - which happens at Millfield School in Somerset in August.
