This Memorial Day weekend we honor the lives of those lost in the service of our country. For the rest of her life, Gold Star mother Naomi Hendrix, mother of William Langston, was dedicated to the cause of veterans and their families.

The man who wrote the letter to the Memphis newspaper - presumably the man with the limp - said that he had gone to Ripley to see June Queen. Langston had no connection to June Queen, America's most famous murder defendant, who had bludgeoned a truck driver with a hammer. Here's a photo of her behind bars, offering candy to her jailer.
