2020 Event Postponed
We have been monitoring the current situation on a daily basis and taking advice from various sources as to the possibility of the 2020 Vets MXdN taking place on the weekend of the 12th & 13th September.
Having considered all of the data and information available, the reluctant decision has been taken to postpone the event until 2021. The provisional date will be the 11th & 12th September 2021.
The main reasons are based around social distancing which includes the safety of all riders, officials and spectators, with so many people on site for the duration of the weekend.
Secondly, it would be impossible for the social part of the event, the evening bar and disco, to take place and this does form an important part of the event for so many people.
Thirdly, with the UK Government having made fourteen days quarantine compulsory for most of our foreign friends at the moment, it would not be a true International event if so many are unable to attend.
The organisers originally set the criteria that the whole of the UK moved into level two of the Government Guidelines for the situation which states – Covid 19 is present in the UK, but the number of cases and transmission is low. We are currently still at level four which is a long way off this being met.
You will be aware that with so many riders requesting an entry into the event creates a large logistical problem. Therefore, it has been decided that all entries (and reserves) who have been successful, will be held over for the revised date and therefore entry fees will not be refunded. However, if any rider does not wish to take up this option, they should contact the Event Manager ([email protected]) before 30th June when a refund (as stated in the Supplementary Regulations) will be made, but of course, the place will be given to another waiting rider in due course.
We trust that you understand the circumstances of the postponement as our first priority is the safety of all concerned.
Update on 2020 Event
Following a speech by the UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson this evening it is still unclear as to how or when the United Kingdom will allow motor sport to begin again.
Currently, the organising team are staying positive for the 2020 event and a final decision will be made by July 1st.
A Club spokesman said, "There will be many problems to overcome as the event has grown in recent years and if social distancing is still in place in September it will be very difficult. We also have concerns on how the new fourteen day quarantine rules will be applied for all of our foreign friends who have entered".
Details will be published here first and all riders will receive a personal e-mail by 1st July.
ENTRIES ARE FULL 7th FEBRUARY
To keep everyone informed the team have been processing the entry applications and we can confirm that all classes are full.
There are still a few days for some riders to take up a Reserve option to which they have been notified.
Please - no further applications for an entry as we do not want to disappoint.
New country teams have already entered this year, so again there is little point in Sonia receiving any further applications for Team places.
A further update will be posted on Tuesday 11th February.
Farleigh Castle MXdN 2020 entries have been gaining momentum and classes are filling up fast....don’t delay!!! Please check website for updated information www.vetsmxdn.co.uk
Ex world number two, Mike Healey is the first rider to be signed up for the legends parade for 2020.
The hard riding American has been hunted down by Dave King and he has agreed to attend in September and will demonstrate a factory 1991 250cc KTM on the Sunday legends lap.
It was in 1991 that Healey was just three points adrift of an actual world title when he was pipped by Trampas Parker, 241 - 238.
Details of further signings will be announced in due course.

Nicoll confirmed for 2020
One of the favourites wherever he competes, Kurt Nicoll has confirmed that he will be participating in the 2020 event.
Drafted into the British Team a few years ago by Dave King, "King Kurt" always puts 100% into all his races and the Vets MXdN is no exception.
A spokesman for the organising Club commented, "We are delighted that Kurt has once again confirmed his intention so early on. It looks like he will once again form part of the British Team which he has represented so well in the past. Kurt will also be invited to take part in one of the individual classes so fans will be able to watch his super smooth action in nine races over the weekend."
Further details of entry criteria will be posted on this site after the 17th January.
