I'm delighted to share Maggie's final portrait! It's always an honour to be asked to do a memorial portrait and this one made it all the way to Canada. My reference photo was very old so I had to add in a lot of detail, while keeping true to Maggie's lovely character.

Almost there with Honey's portrait. Absolutely loved drawing her ball!
My first ever coloured pencil portrait vs my most recent horse portrait! This is just over two years of practice. It feels really good to look back and see how much I have learnt. I think I'm going to need to redo a portrait of Jack to get his proportions right! Just keep practising!
What an honour to have drawn this stunning girl. Ally is such a beautiful soul with the kindest eyes. I loved seeing her come to life.
I've had the pleasure of having this gorgeous face on my drawing board. It's been so long since I've drawn a horse! She is such a stunning girl with so many lovely colours in her coat so I got to use many of my pencils. I was in colour heaven π
Otis' completed portrait π the background was such a challenge, but so rewarding when blocking in the subject. I just loved doing the finishing touches on this one.
Progress on this gorgeous black labrador Otis. Backgrounds are always such a challenge and take far longer than the subject. In this piece the background took 5 times longer to draw than the subject π±βοΈ

Brutus' completed portrait. I just loved drawing this cutie and felt so honoured to be able to create a lasting memory of him through my drawing. I'm always very careful with my thoughts and intentions when I draw. I imagine the owners looking at their drawing and feeling all their animals' love and the happy memories they have shared. Brutus will always be loved and remembered by his lovely family.

Inspired by animals
I have loved and admired all animals from when I was a child. I spent my time drawing from my wildlife books and a love for drawing animals was born.
I have mainly worked in oils and graphite, but recently discovered the beautiful potential of coloured pencils. I started drawing my pets and those of family and friends and felt I just had to share this love with others.
I offer commissions to honour your pet for who they are. I capture their unique eccentricities, quirks, beauty and soul. Each animal is different and the experience of drawing them varies too! I love it when clients send me extra pictures, videos, stories and best yet when I get to meet the special pet, because I can transform this into a true likeness of their being.
