Had a mom reach out looking for a quick Easter gift for her Lego loving little ladies. The One Man Woodshop came through. I wiped these up in a few hours over a couple nights and the end result is so cool. I added a dry erase board as the bottom on the underside because let’s face it endless distractions are the key to any road trip with little ones. I even had to break out the Cricut for to add a personalized touch.

The One Man Woodshop has been busy with some very big things coming up so this was a welcome break to do something fun and easy.

I made these little night stand cubbies before Christmas and never posted. I like the geometry of these pieces. I love that they offer lots of storage and the ability for the kids to have quick access to whatever they need.

Amazing outcome for even more amazing, returning, clients. I simply love everything about this custom cabinet build!

Supply chain delays lead to this outcome. When the initial job was to paint and install stock cabinets but constant supplier delays allowed me to work with the client to create these beautiful custom cabinets and doors. This was a big job for my small shop and may or may not have taken up residence in our family room while sub zero temps threaten the finishing. I’m still in love with the ability to take raw wood, some with bark still on it, and turn it in to something amazing that a family will use for years to come. handled it all from build, paint, glass, install and even installing quartz countertops that required some searching to get the exact match.

Took a little break from posting but it doesn’t mean I wasn’t busy in the shop!

Check out this HUGE beautiful table! Custom made to fit an awkward space in a clients house. This table measures 2 feet wide and 8 feet long. All solid 2” thick hardwood legs joined with tenons to the beautiful top. I decided to make the top reversible so you could do a fun color or pattern on one side and flip it back to white for everyday use! I love how this behemoth turned out!

This gorgeous wainscoting was installed in early August. I tried something a little different using my pocket hole jig to make these pieces all one piece before attaching them to the wall. This will keep the movement to a minimum and the joints tight for years to come. I love the trim returns being integrated into the existing window trim. To me it makes it look like it was meant to be. It’s all about the details.

After that many pocket holes I probably need to invest in the Foreman for the next one.

When I first began woodworking as a kid I would bring home random wooden items I saved from the garbage and fashion them into everything from play swords to skateboard ramps and even a soap box racer. Years later this trend would become known as repurposing. So needless to say when reached out about transforming a maketplace find from a worn out ugly table to a clean beautiful modern piece I was more than a little excited. I love the dipped legs and the brass accents paired with the grass cloth shelf. I made the shelf reversible because…kids. The color combinations are 🔥 It turned out beautiful and once again the design was spot on )even if I wasn’t 💯 on board in the beginning 😉)!

has shared her final reveal of the but over the next week I wanted to share some of behind the scenes photos of what it took The One Man Woodshop to make these pieces come to life.

It all started with the mantel😍
I’m so impressed with vision on this piece. I’m still floored when I see the pictures and concept drawing compared to the final piece.

Woodworking is a magical thing. Especially when you can take random pieces of lumber create something so beautiful that will bring years of joy to so many people.

It’s been a while since I’ve had no active projects in the shop so I took full advantage and picked up this sweet 1943 mostly original Delta Milwaukee drill press. The styling, the craftsmanship and the stories this press holds are unbelievable. So excited to have it in my little shop.

Another project in the books for a fantastic client! The client had a simple request “cover the unsightly umbrella base and have a spot to rest a drink” ✅✅!
The table top features lap joint corners and inset table slats. It also features a massive hole to allow for the umbrella to pivot!

Why just give a bottle of wine as a gift?

These wine bottle caddies make a great gift and a interesting display you can take from the counter top to the back yard. I love making these unique little things that showcase craftsmanship while being my outlet for creativity.

Just finished up this fun little project. The client will be staining and finishing. This is a great way to make custome furniture more affordable and feel like you had a part in the creation. I can’t wait to see these all done and how they’ll be put to use.

After the whirlwind of 2020 I’ve decided to do what makes me happy and bring my skills, vision, and desire to make to the public. My goal is to be a role model for my children and show them that hard work and great customer service are the cornerstones of creating a successful business and life.
