I’m reality we should have been back about a week ago but sometimes getting back into the swing of things can be harder than you’d think. We’ve had a big break from social media and feel really good for it.

To kick start our return we thought we would share one of the hand painted home prints we commissioned for Christmas gifts.

I have absolutely loved painting this house, it was an interesting angle to capture and I love the outcome. Our home prints are all painted my hand and make thoughtful gifts for special occasions. I think I might try my hand at wedding venues next!

One of Arthur’s favourite things to do is go to a farm. We love them, even better than a zoo because you’re guaranteed to see lots of animals up close!

⭐️ We’re One!!! ⭐️

Incredibly it’s one year to the day that we officially launched Peepo Prints.

It’s been so much fun, super rewarding and has certainly kept us busy. We have learnt so many new skills along the way. At times it’s been tough to keep momentum but when we see our prints in the window of shops, on the walls of a local soft play and in numerous bedrooms and playrooms it makes it all worth it.

If you’re thinking about setting up your own small business here are three little bits of advice we’ve learnt over the last year:

- Set yourself deadlines. It’s easy to over-design but a deadline can force you to make decisions and not over think something that is already great.

- Be prepared for not everything to be a success. You can’t always get it right and trends come and go, what’s important is the new learning you take from this. Although this sounds negative it does help you to learn what people like and dislike - ready for new ideas!

- Give yourself a break. Give yourself some time off. It’s ok to pause, take stock and when you’re ready; come back with the excitement that creativity brings.

⭐️ Moon Print ⭐️

Here at Peepo prints we create detailed and imaginative prints for your little ones and so sometimes the simplicity of Moon Print is lovely to see.

The print comes in various colour backgrounds and can be further personalised with a rocket bearing a name of your choice.

We have made this available in A4 and A3 at the moment but have been thinking about introducing an A5 option. What do you think?! Let us know in the comments below 🥰

⭐️ Fun in the Countryside ⭐️

Trying to get that perfect shot of your little one standing amongst a meadow of wild flowers.

Five minutes of singing, dancing and waving later, we got it. (Obviously digger included)

We came across this quote a couple of days ago and it really resonated with us.

Although we’ve had a lot of fun and have taken a lot of pleasure out of what Peepo Prints has become, it’s been tiring to keep going. In particular this last month has been tough to juggle everything that’s been going on, so learning to slow down and take time to pause has been really beneficial for us.

We know it’s a lot easier said than done though, especially when you see all the amazing stuff that’s created by small businesses everyday, you want to stay involved. But some times to reinvigorate yourself, rest is definitely needed.

⭐️ Day 26 - Favourite ⭐️

If we had to choose a favourite it would be a close call between our Penguin Story Print and our Moon Print.

Not only have these been two of our best sellers but they were also the two that came together the easiest.

⭐️ Day 22 - Jobs ⭐️

We always have a joke about our jobs and responsibilities at Peepo.

Pete is our Creative Director, he takes our sketches and brings them to life.

Sasha is pretty much everything else. Our Marketing Director, our head of production, our Finance Director. Pretty much everything that can’t be done on Illustrator.

Arthur is our one boy focus group. (and we’re not just saying this to be cute) To make sure what we’ve drawn actually looks right, we always ask Arthur to tell us what it is, and if he gets it’s right, we’re on to a winner.

Day Two of is STYLE

I think if we’re honest, even in the short time we’ve been creating prints, our style has developed from our initial story prints to our newest Explorer range. But there are three consistent characteristics that we stick too with every design.

Playful - we want our prints to be fun to talk about and also fun to look at. We try to tell enough of a story to dream but also leave room for our children to imagine what is happening beyond the print.

Colourful - we love to use colour to tell a story. Whether it’s using colour to contrast or compliment the subject of our prints, we have a lot of fun creating our palettes.

Simple - our designs are simple in the shapes and tones we use. One of the most rewarding moments for us is when we hear that a little one has seen our prints and instantly recognise what we have created.

Morning, we’re playing catch up today with so to kick it off we’ll be sharing two posts today. The first is about giving you an introduction into Peepo Prints!

We’ve had a lot of new people join us since we last said hello, so it’s also great to show the face behind the brand.

We’re Pete & Sash, parents, designers and lack of sleep sufferers. (We’ll let you work out which one of the three is the main cause of this!!)

We live in South London with our son Arthur, who has just turned two and celebrated by eating the most amount of mikado sticks ever eaten by a toddler.

We both work in design, (which is how we met) and we’ve always wanted to give our own thing a go. Then along came lockdown and it felt like the perfect time to try. We’re very lucky that we could start something with no pressure, give it our best shot and see what happened, and coming up to 6 months later, that’s exactly what we’ve done.

With Peepo Prints we set out with the aim of designing prints that sparked children’s imagination. Allowing them to dream about the characters and read the stories behind the prints. This has since grown into a new range of prints that tells our customers own stories, personalising them to their own dreams and capturing their adventures.

When we’re not working we spend most of our family time these days going out to spot diggers, painting diggers, drawing diggers, reading about diggers or watching diggers!

So that’s us, (apart from that Pete likes football, which is very boring so we’ll gloss over that)

Peepo Prints

FREE Half-term story pack coming this weekend!!

We’ve seen a few of our favourite small businesses release some great, free activity packs during lockdown and we loved them so much we wanted to do the same.

So for this half term week, four of our stories will be available as a digital download pack to print at home. This will include black and white prints to colour in and shortened stories with blanks, for you and your little ones to create your own stories together.

We’ll be releasing this for free over the weekend with the hope that it will be a fun activity for your children to do whilst we’re all at home.

This will still be available after half term but we will be charging a very small fee to download them, so make sure you take the chance to get them for free whilst you can.

Our custom house prints have been launched today and are available in our Etsy store (link in bio) right now.

We know everyone says this but we are genuinely so excited to launch this today, It has been something we’ve wanted to do ever since we launched Peepo Prints.

Over the last year our homes have become more than just our places to eat and sleep, we have learnt how to turn them into our workplaces, our playgrounds, our classrooms or our art studios. We have made so many new memories in them, that when it is time to spread our wings again, we will always look back at this time in lockdown and know that our homes are where our new stories began.

This is a fully custom print and we’ll work closely with you to make sure we’re able to capture exactly what you want. Here’s a few examples of commissions we’ve done already.

Today’s adventure took us to the deep forest. (Richmond Park really but it’s the closest we could get) Where we walked over wobbling bridges, climbed over fallen oak trees and made our way over the rocky stepping stones of the misty lake.

We may be facing a year of staycations again, but there really is some beautiful places to explore in the UK and we can’t wait to get out and see them again.

This has made our day! Honestly every follow puts a huge smile on our face, thank you, thank you, thank you.

We’ve been amazed by all the positive feedback we’ve had for our new print.

Honestly we’re really proud of it and to hear that people like it is so heart warming, so thank you to everyone who’s commented, shared and messaged us, it means so much.

🤩🎄❄️ Our Etsy store is now closed for Christmas. We’ve taken the decision that this Christmas more than ever, is a time to recharge and spend time with the people we love. So we will be closed until the 4th of January so we can switch off and enjoy the time we are allowed with our family. 🤩🎄❄️

We also want to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to every single one of you that has liked, shared, commented and bought our products. It has been such a humbling experience and we are so grateful.

We’re so exciting about 2021, not only with the hope that all our lives may slowly get back to some kind of normal, but with the ideas we have for Peepo Prints. We’ll be coming back in January with some new products to share with you, so please keep an eye out to see what’s coming soon.

It’s the little moments of generosity that have really helped us get through the ups and downs this year.

Today we received a very nice surprise in the post, a box of DIY doughnuts from
The people that sent them, you know who you are and thank you so so much.

We had a lot of fun this evening decorating them, some of us more than others, looking at you Arthur George!!

When starting a small business there’s a lot of what if’s.

It’s completely normal to question yourself and what you’re about to do. We spent a long time deliberating and questioning what we were designing and whether we take that leap into having a small business.

Social media was one of the biggest hurdles for us. Firstly knowing what to talk about and when to post, but also do we want to open ourselves up to this world of instant opinions.

This though, has by far been the biggest reward for us since starting Peepo Prints. The support not only from family and friends but other small business owners, has been incredible. The willingness we’ve found from others to share advice and help out, is so heart-warming and has made the last three months so much fun for us.

So if your asking yourself all of these what ifs right now, then please feel free to message us, we’d love to hear your ideas and we’d be more than happy to share advice and help in any way we can.

Thursday will be our last day to send out any orders before Christmas. As we send out all our orders via Royal Mail, this should allow enough time for them to arrive, for you to wrap and give to a someone special.
