2020 is a difficult year for women entrepreneurs in Central and Eastern Europe.

While investment in innovation fields continues to increase, in CEE, that is not the case of funds allocated to female founding teams, which received only 1% in 2020 compared to a 4.1% in 2018.

Although these figures are certainly influenced by the current health crisis, it seems clear that the disparities between women and men remain significant within the European Union, especially in entrepreneurship.

The Guardian introduces us to several women entrepreneurs who, following this period, were able to develop their projects.

As Joely To, a young entrepreneur and 16-year-old student, took advantage of the first confinement to create Pionner, a non-profit organization, whose goal is to encourage and bring together young women between the ages of 11 and 18 with a passion for mathematics.
