Establishing our Pedigree Jersey herd
A quick check of the magnets inside our Trioliet feeder wagon this morning shows the importance of them.
As you can see,even the smallest of foreign objects are caught meaning there is less chance of the girls eating anything they shouldn’t and potentially causing injury to them!
AHDB is disappointed with BBC Two’s "Brian May: The Badgers, The Farmers and Me." Despite our efforts to provide accurate, peer-reviewed evidence on bovine TB and the impact of badger culling, key facts were omitted. We'll be reflecting on the programme and next steps.

Our calves here at Buckridge HQ are impressed as much as we are with the Britannia milk powder replacement they are fed,That they literally cannot wait to get to get the bags open!!! After trying various powders we have settled with this one and have seen calf health and growth improve.
It defiantly gets the moo of approval from Belle our newest Jersey calf.

I think I know what happened to this 🦒 giraffes 🦒 markings… 🍀 Clover 🍀 has them!! Apparently this unusual coat type in Jerseys is known as 🐓 Chickens 🐓 foot!!
We had a fantastic result at our pregnancy detection (PD) session last week - 5 Jerseys checked and all 5 are in calf!! 🙌
We were very excited to find this cheese today in our local farm shop. Not only is it udderly delicious but it’s made with Jersey cow milk! 😋

2023 saw our herd grow again with 8 heifers purchased and 18 heifer calves born into the Buckridge herd. We’ve had a fantastic year and would like to thank 🙏 everyone that has helped us along the way 🧡

We had an exciting week last week attending the South West Jersey Club Christmas dinner and 2023 on farm competition presentation. We were thrilled to come 4th in the Small Herd class (up to 115 cows) and got 5th in the in calf heifer class with Lolly! As if that wasn’t enough excitement we were also part of the breeders forum feature in the December issue of the UK Jersey Times for the Jersey Cattle Society!
Our first little Banging calf has finally outgrown her coat! Her dam’s name is ☘️Clover☘️ so we decided to call her 🍀Lucky🍀. Here she is with her mate Maroni they love doing zoomies around the pen!

Meet 🎤 Mercury 🎤 the latest addition to the Buckridge herd. She’s named after the legendairy Freddie Mercury, another one of our favourites! 🎶
Now the dust ✨ has settled we would like to introduce you to 🧚♀️ Rivermead Victorious Pixie 🧚♀️ We are very excited to welcome her to the Buckridge herd where she has joined our incalf heifer group with some of her old friends!!
