LOOK! In an effort to propel further local governance in the region, DILG 10 Regional Director Arnel Agabe and Assistant Regional Director Yvette Tolentino-Sunga called for an Interfacing with Camiguin Provincial Governor Jurdin Jesus Romualdo, and Congressman Xavier Jesus Romualdo on March 24, 2022 at the Camiguin Provincial Capitol Compound.
The discussions centered on the preparations needed for the province to pass the upcoming Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) assessment this April 2022, and on the COVID-19 vaccination status of the province.
Both also commended Governor Romualdo and Congressman Romualdo for their initiatives on being declared as the first province to be “Drug-Cleared.” In addition, ARD Sunga praised the province for the recovery of their tourism sector, which is considered to be the island’s prime asset.
As a result, RD Agabe and ARD Sunga committed to provide assistance to the province in terms of the facilitation of the accreditation for their Women’s Center, and the approval of their Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDP-FP).
Along with DILG Regional Management were DILG Camiguin Provincial Director Rhona Pedraza-Abadilla, Cluster Head Jay Niel Añasco, and Program Manager Charlotte Cubero.

Mindanao State University of Naawan, represented by Dr. Elnor C. Roa, turned over one (1) unit processing table and one (1) unit smoke house to the Local Government Unit of Mahinog, and accepted by our Local Chief Executive Hon. Rey Lawrence K. Tan.
This equipment will be used in processing of high value sea cucumber into a high quality dried products for marketing and trading purposes.
This is also in line with the DOST funded NICER program in Mindanao to enhance natural stocks, and provide alternative livelihoods to local beneficiaries.

Serbisyo Caravan brings services to brgys’ doorsteps
CAMIGUIN, November 15 – With the customized proactive implementation of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) in the Province of Camiguin, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Camiguin, with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Camiguin Police Provincial Office, initiated the conduct of the “Duterte Legacy: Barangayanihan cm RCSP Serbisyo Caravan” to all RCSP target barangays in the province, with the activity kicking-off in Barangay Owakan, Mahinog on November 15, 2021.
During the opening program, DILG Camiguin Program Manager Lorjezza Quimzon-Siao said, “Tumong niini nga kalihokan mao ang paghimo niini nga bag-ong lagda – ang pagdala sa mga serbisyo sa gobyerno diri mismo sa pultahan sa mga barangay.”
(The aim of this activity is to make this the new norm – to bring the government services right to the door step of the barangays.)
The DILG Camiguin provided tools to combat COVID-19, such as, alcohol, face masks, and vitamins to the barangay. Other services provided by national government agencies (NGAs) were (1) “libreng gupit” from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and PNP, (2) processing of Philsys National ID from Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), (3) technical assistance for small and medium business enterprises by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), (4) registration of workers association by Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), (5) processing of clearance and paralegal services for farmers from Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), (6) processing of building, electrical, and other permits by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and (7) assistance on online registration by the Social Security System (SSS).
In addition, the provincial government also provided food packs, vaccinations, kiddie tooth brushes, IEC materials, and technical assistance on available services to the barangay.
The Serbisyo Caravan will continue to deliver basic services to the RCSP target barangays following this schedule:
November 16 – Barangay Manduao, Catarman
November 17 – Barangay Cuña, Sagay
November 18 – Barangay Benhaan, Mambajao
November 19 – Barangay Butay, Guinsiliban
This activity is part of the RCSP, a program which aims to address identified issues of the community by closing governance and development gaps through provision of needed government programs, projects and activities (PPAs) to attain sustainable peace, social justice and ultimate development. This program is under Executive Order No. 70, or the institutionalization of the whole-of-nation approach to end local communist armed conflict (ELCAC).
November 15,2021: Barangayanihan Cum Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) Serbisyo Caravan (Hatod Serbisyong Roger) was successfully conducted earlier at Barangay Owakan, Mahinog, Camiguin.
The RCSP is one of the government's programs that aims to address community-identified issues by closing governance and development gaps, meeting community needs, and ensuring that development is sustained and peace is promoted through the "Whole-of-Nation Approach" as outlined in President Duterte's Executive Order 70.
RCSP aims to address the community's recognized challenges by addressing governance and development gaps, meeting the community's needs, and ensuring that development is sustained and peace is encouraged as part of President Rodrigo Duterte's Whole-of-Nation Approach.
Residents of Barangay Owakan were able to access a variety of services given by numerous local and national agencies, as well as the private sector, through the serbisyo caravan. DTI, for example, offered business information materials and business coaching; PNP, in collaboration with the DILG Provincial Office, provided haircutting services and some food packs; and BFP and the Provincial Government, through the PSWDO, provided food packs to all households.
The Municipal Health Office (MHO) of Mahinog, on the other hand, ensured that basic medical services reached the barangay by providing free medical consultation during the caravan.
Also present during the caravan are representatives from TESDA, DepEd, PhilHealth, SSS, Provincial Vet Office and Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), all are geared towards bringing their services at the doorsteps of the people of Brgy. Owakan, Mahinog, Camiguin.
