"Ever notice some folx unfollow or unfriend over differences in beliefs? Maybe it's not just about politics or opinions—maybe it's about values and character. I'm here to stay true to mine, even if it means some people take the exit. After all, life's too short to edit your values just to keep the peace. 🌟💬

The Angel in Room 137: A Reflection on the Beautiful Mess In the tapestry of life's experiences, there are encounters that quietly stitch a new perspective into our souls. My recent visit with a long-time church member, whom I’ve come to think of as "the angel in room 137," did just that. Sitting at his dining table, in a modest room bearing the number 1...
Help support a great cause, bringing hope and providing safety for hundreds of people each night.
As the holiday season approaches and temperatures drop, we are reaching out to you with a heartfelt request to support the Bryant Center. We have a goal to raise $15,000 for the shelter this month.
During the coldest nights at the end of November, the Bryant Center opened its doors to 248 women and men who might otherwise have been in harm’s way due to the cold. We have seen these numbers continuing to rise. Today we are serving nearly 100 people more than we had planned for. Each of these numbers is a person that we are helping to find safe space, to find hope, and compassion. We need your help!
While the Drop-In Shelter and the White Flag Emergency Shelter programs ARE specially funded by Wake County and the City of Raleigh, those grants do not meet all the needs we fund … especially with the increased amount of people seeking help. Your gift toward supporting our critical needs and operations in December 2023 will ensure we stay here to adequately support our marginalized communities here in Raleigh.
Please consider giving a one-time or recurring gift in any amount to our Shelter Fund. Will you please give today? https://pushpay.com/g/stjohnsmccraleigh?fnd=HZqYvHBHRV5FKab6JCYQJg&r=No&lang=en&src=pcgl
AIDS Quilt Display Please consider volunteering to serve as a Host for a few hours to help us while the Quilt is on public display. We need at least 2 people for each hour. See the times available on Activate Good.
Happy to Rev. Wanda and Rev. Paully. I am so honored and blessed that God called me into ministry with you! St. John's MCC
An important action taking place at the NC General Assembly tomorrow, Tuesday, September 12 @ 1pm led by students from across North Carolina to demand legislators stop making it easier to get guns and harder to vote. Coming out of the tragedy at UNC-Chapel Hill a few weeks ago, these students are connecting the dots between gun violence and the policy violence of our extremist NC General Assembly.
After their long train of abuses this session, and after losing at the US Supreme Court, Moore and Berger are following the lead of Cleta Mitchell and pushing voter suppression schemes to insulate themselves from the voters. The young people organizing this event are eager to build coalitions and work with the movement community in North Carolina, and it's their hope we show up in big numbers to support!
