It IS ok to feel your feelings.
Some feelings can feel overwheming, uncontrollable and difficult, but every feeling, every emotion is normal.
All the emotions from anger, sadness to joy and excitement, they are what make us human. They might be uncomfortable to feel sometimes but every feeling serves a purpose. Being mindful of every feeling is just one way to help ourselves.

What will you do today to make sure you are filling your cup?
I say to my clients all the time "you can't pour from an empty cup". You need to make sure you are looking after yourself in order to look after those around us and the ones we love, especially if we have children on summer holidays right now.

🌳 Benefits Of Being Outside 🌳
Did you know that just 15 minutes outside can lower our blood pressure, lower heart rate and lower the stress hormone cortisol.
Here are some other benefits:
* Helps us connect to nature
* Helps to reduce loneliness
* It can improve our physical health as well as our mental health
* It improves our confidence and self-esteem
* It can improve our mood
There are so many benefits to getting outside every day, I give reminders on my stories most days about these benefits and why we should get outside.
What is grounding?
Grounding is a being in the present moment and being centred. It brings us safely into our body in that moment.
Using our senses is the most effective way of grounding ourselves - smell, taste, hearing, touch and sight.
There are so many benefits of having a regular meditation practice, we can notice some of these benefits even after just one 10 minute meditation.
Here are seven:
🛏 Improves sleep quality
☀ Reduces depression and anxiety
🩺 Strengthens the immune system
🫀 Improves heart health
🫂 Improves stress management
🧠 Decreases cognitive decline
💡 Enhances problem solving abilities
So where can we find guided meditations? YouTube has an amazing selection of free meditations, including meditations specifically for stress or anxiety and even manifesting. There are also great app's such as Calm and Headspace. Find the right ones for you that you connect with.
Always wondered what a Reiki treatment involves? Find a FREE online mini Reiki workshop on my website.
It goes through what Reiki is, why it's so beneficial and what happens when you have a treatment with a trained practitioner.
Connection. Do you feel you have good emotional connections with the people around you?
Having nourishing relationships can help us to destress. We feel happy when we are connected to people around us, family and friends. Not just through 'social' media but the connection we get when we are physically with someone.
As much as possible, my husband and I sit at our kitchen island and chat. We chat about our day and anything else really, and there's sometimes a wine/beer involved too. Don't get me wrong it doesn't happen every day - work, kids, dinner etc make it easy not to do it, but we do try as much as possible as we know how beneficial it is for us.
Are there ways you can connect more with the people in your life?
Did you know this? Having a regular gratitude practice has been scientifically proven to have many health benefits, here are just a few:
* Improves wellbeing by 10%
* Increases happiness by 25%
* Improved sleep quality by 25%
You don't always need to have something 'big' or life changing to be grateful for, it be be the very small things like receiving a smile from a stranger, a colleague making you a cup of tea or getting 7 hours sleep one night. Find gratitude in the small things every day.
In our mindfulness course we do journaling exercises each session, we also include a gratitude practice.
I thought it was about time I reintroduced myself again as it's been a while.

Starting a meditation practice can feel daunting.
Am I doing it right? Why isn’t my brain being quiet? I just can’t shut my mind off. I can’t sit still.
These are all things I definitely thought when I first started practicing mindfulness and meditation.
There is this perception that to meditate is to not think of anything at all and turn our brain ‘off’. THIS ISN’T THE CASE.
By following these tips you are practicing meditation. By acknowledging your thoughts and coming back to your breath, you are practicing meditation and mindfulness.
✨GRATITUDE PRACTICE ✨
Having a regular gratitude practice has been proven to help reduce stress, anxiety and depression.
Have gratitude for even the small things every day can make us see what good things we have in our life- even on the bad days. Showing kindness to others or telling someone how thankful you are to them, these are ways to practice gratitude.
