It wasn’t my intention to produce a sandy beige glaze but a detour while researching a frustratingly elusive glaze produced something else that really appealed. This
soft, sandy beige matte glaze with lovely iron spots partners beautifully with this lava stoneware. What do you think?
When one cup is not enough…
Garlic storage jars.
No more storing garlic in the fridge, it is so much faster to peel when it’s stored at room temp. These jars allow airflow and can look good on your kitchen counter.
Wheelthrown stoneware garlic jars with ventilation holes in a semi matte oatmeal glaze. Perfect for two to three large bulbs. Available by DM or in the next online shop update.
The last of the blood oranges, snapped a few weeks ago and hopefully the last time wearing a thick wool pullover for a few months 🤞
This is a new glaze colour I am teating. My other shade of blue is a chrome and cobalt mix, this one has iron oxide instead of chrome producing a subtle grey blue. I have tested on small pieces but it is useful to see it on larger items like this one.
Large stoneware salad or fruit bowl textured with carved facets on the exterior.
I guess it was only a matter of time before I made a proper matcha bowl to accommodate my fix.
I love my morning espresso and am very particular about the quality and provenance of the beans, the same goes for my matcha. Currently I am enjoying the Yamabuki from , it’s so fresh and aromatic with lovely toast and cacao notes.
My take on the matcha bowl has an intentionally modest foot but in keeping with all my work, the texture is apparent on the curved bottom while the bottom of the foot itself is carefully burnished to produce a silky smooth base.
Not the best with at remembering to take photos as I managed to send off this order for lidded jars without taking a single photo other than this one taken by my son. Besides that it’s lovely to being in the studio while the very timid sunlight attempts to peek in and warm up my shelves.
“These are a few of my favourite things” ☺️
Stoneware plate, mug and butter dish all wheel thrown, glazed in my own matte oatmeal, all available on my website or by DM.
Having grown up with bee hives in the garden, nothing beats raw honey, unsalted butter, fresh sourdough and a cup of good matcha. This particular honey is so good from
I formulated this semi matte glaze a while back, at the time I was trying to phase out this grey lava clay intending to use the glaze on my other grey sand flecked clay. A fortuitous enquiry/order late last year led me to revisit the clay, I am glad I did as it works so well with this glaze.
The glaze is off white with the oatmeal effect coming from both iron in the glaze and in the clay. Texture-wise, it is so lovely and soft. I hope you like it too?
These cups will be added to the next web shop update.
Bringing signs of Spring inside.
So many posts on here are images of Spring in full flow, where I live, it’s arrives somewhat (quite a bit🙃) later. Last year I planted so many Spring bulbs to boost my mood after the long winter but they are still struggling to blossom. So in the meantime I settled on some magnolia branches that sit happily in one of my vases.
Eggcups sell like hot cakes!
So here are more freshly glazed egg cups ready to be fired, and then ready for Flid market on April 6 & 7, Nørrebrohallen, Copenhagen.
Jars - soon to be added to the online shop.
Am I allowed to be biased - because I love them. Another ceramicist once told me ‘you have to put love in to your work’, well these storage jars are filled with love.
Available in various clays but today I am showcasing this lovely textured stoneware clay with beautiful iron spots. I am hoping to have some left to bring to the upcoming Flid market on April 6 & 7 in Nørrebrohallen, Cph.
Is it their fickle nature that makes me love hellebores so, or is it their wonderful colour palette?
I find they compliment my vases beautifully. The natural colour of the textured stoneware clay works so well with them, and for that matter any bloom.

I revisited my egg cups in the lava clay.
These are glazed in a lovely soft semi matte off white glaze of mine. It contains red iron oxide which accounts for iron spots in the glaze as well as those from the clay. What do you think ?
I will soon add some of these to my webshop but in the meantime you can find them for sale
Seasonal blooms in a raw textured vase alongside a wider tea cup to accommodate plentiful quantities of tea.
Wheel thrown, stoneware ceramics available by DM or through my webshop.
Today is the last day for placing Christmas orders.
Which is your favourite coloured mug? There’s one colour that sells out at every market I have done, and that’s despite bringing more each time.

The studio shelves are currently pretty empty, I am grateful for all the support and orders I have received.
New projects mean that my head and hands are again deep in the clay producing and getting orders ready for delivery in January. I look forward to seeing bisqueware shelves as full again as on the photo.
Cloudberries from a few months back, just to bring some sunshine in to the day. Have you ever tasted this beauties? I am not sure how I was supposed to use them but they were delicious in my breakfast bowl.
I have finally updated the webshop with new stocks. It is a lengthy process, so if you have seen something here and it is not there in my shop, please just send a direct message. This seems to be the way most of my work sells these days. A sincere thank you to those who have already placed orders today after this update, your parcels will be posted this week - thank you for supporting a small business 🙏
If you are looking for a lovely way to spend some time this coming weekend, pop by design market where I will have a stand on Saturday and Sunday at Fabrikken, Sundholmsvej 46, København S.
I am beginning to get fed up with the reflections in my images, hence the lower angles to avoid them.
Meanwhile my matte and semi matte glaze tests continue, I have developed two lovely base glazes both with beautiful texture, but I am just not satisfied enough yet with the oxide combinations.
These stoneware, wheel thrown bowls are glazed in blue and green, the gloss glazes juxtapose beautifully with the raw, carved exterior on these bowls. Available in several sizes including larger serving bowls.
I am always so grateful for flowers that dry well and can enjoy a second life. I would love to know what other flowers dry beautifully and easily?
Wheel thrown handmade vase, raw and textured on the outside highlighting the natural clay tone, glazed inside with a white gloss. Available on my website or by DM.
Am I alone in enjoying repurposing objects for other uses, such as using this bowl for a flower ?
Wheel thrown textured stoneware bowl - available for sale.
Grey on grey.
A grey gloss glaze with subtle variation with blue nuances on a grey textured stoneware with fine flecks of sand.
A handmade wheel thrown ceramic cup for cupping in the hand, comforting and reassuring.
The finished jug from the previous post where it can be seen being thrown on the wheel.
A set of these bowls are on their way to Norway having just come out of the kiln. A few weeks back I was contacted by a lovely lady who had seen my work at Finderskeepers in June and commissioned these.
I will bring a few more of these to the next market on Oct 14/15 in Øksenhallen.
Wheel thrown, lightly textured stoneware bowls ideal for snacks, cereal, ice cream or desert.
The range of colour that limelight hydrangeas offer is wonderful. Starting with the eponymous pale lime in the early season, progressing via a lovely cream to dusty pink with hints of burgundy. Dry or fresh the blooms are equally beautiful.
Single stem of limelight sitting in a one off, unika wheel thrown stoneware vase with circular carving.
Eggcups seen through three phases of their making.
These three are all the same clay. Firstly as greenware, freshly thrown and trimmed and very fragile. Next bisqued, fired to approx 980C resulting in a porous but hard ceramic state. And finally glazed and ready to meet a new home.
Vases in dark or light clay - which do you prefer?
The last few days have been spent throwing vases in various forms and sizes as stocks on the website are low.
This vase was very much a one off in a darker clay than usual, glazed inside with a cerulean blue gloss.
Focus on flowers and vase. First the bloom with its perfect petals, then the stoneware vase glazed only on the inside so the textured exterior can sing.
Once upon a time we had summer days filled with warm, balmy sunshine and gentle breezes…
Wheel thrown tea/coffee cup in a grey stoneware with fine sand grog and my own variegated grey gloss reminiscent of the stormy skies we had here yesterday.
