Back in March, at our Retreat in Puerto Rico, Sogol Pahlavan MD, FAAP and Parastoo Jangouk MD made a lasting impact on our group.

The attendees spoke about how pediatricians are pulled by the desire to build a satisfying career but pushed by their goal of life-work balance. Their message resonated with everyone and had a lot of positive takeaways.

We are SO excited to reveal our keynote speaker for our Empower Express event!

Dr. Johnson is a board-certified pediatrician practicing at Gwinnett Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine in Georgia. An Emory University alum for both undergrad and medical school, she completed her residency training at Duke University, where she also served as chief resident. She is also a certified life coach and National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach for physicians.

Known for her passion for connecting with patients and families, Dr. Johnson loves getting to know them, finding out their interests, and helping them to become more knowledgeable about health and wellness. Outside of pediatrics, she supports fellow physicians in navigating career challenges and leading more fulfilling, more authentic lives.

We look forward to Dr. Johnson bringing her wealth of knowledge and passion for pediatrics to our event!

Last year, as we were reading over our 2023 Retreat feedback, we saw that one of our attendees wished for a group volleyball tournament.

We hesitated slightly, but quickly remembered the type of event that we run. The type of event that makes anything work if it empowers you, and encourages you to do something that you haven't done before.

The volleyball tournaments at our 2024 Retreat were so fun! We realized that they permitted you at the end of a long day to have fun and choose to do something out of your comfort zone.
