October is National Children’s Health Month!

Children often can be much more vulnerable than adults when it comes to food allergies and other feeding issues. Good health habits and practices are important in taking the steps towards a healthy childhood. Some of these steps include ensuring vaccinations are up to date including Hep A and Hep B and the flu vaccine, ensuring oral health by going to the dentist to see if there are any cavities, increase intake of natural fruits and vegetables while reducing saturated fats and sugary snacks, and to PLAY OUTSIDE! :)
Children’s Health Month is important to observe exercises to increase people’s awareness to protect and develop children’s health in the United States.

Love For Little Gavin organized by Mandy Franklin 16/08/2020

The executive board of KGI PPAG will be heading over to Loma Linda Totally Kids Rehabilitation Center to extend our well wishes, toys, books and donations to Gavin Ludwick and other kids at the Rehab center.

It has been difficult to find organizations that will accept donations during this pandemic. However, a recent tragic event that occurred in Desert Hot Springs has given us a great idea on how we can spread the love.

Little Gavin Ludwick, 7 years old, was viciously attacked by a 32 year old man in an unprovoked incident after spending time at his friend's house in mid July. He was airlifted to Loma Linda Medical Center immediately and suffered serious trauma and damage to his head. He is currently undergoing rehab at the moment at Totally Kids Rehab Center. Gavin lost his father in March to cancer so his mother Wendy and him are currently going through some tough times right now.

We are happy to be able to extend our warm wishes and some gifts that can assist in Gavin's road to recovery from this traumatic ordeal. Hopefully this can shed some light on how regulations need to be stricter for criminals with past violations and violence against children so incidents like Gavin does not occur again.

If you are interested in helping out Gavin and his mom, you may donate at https://www.gofundme.com/f/love-for-little-gavin

If you are interested in supporting KGI PPAG, you may contact and message us to inquire how to help out at our future events, health fairs and fundraisers.

Love,
KGI PPAG's executive board (Alice, Quynh, Nella, Yi Wei, Diana and Matilde)

This is a picture of Kids' Book Project "Dream the Forest Wild" by Sue Memhard and Jim Crisp. This photo Memhard/Crisp's endeavors to raise awareness of rainforest and nature preservation in children embodies the theme that animals, nature, children and all life on this earth are all inter-connected.

For PPAG, we not only advocate for children's health, but also factors that may directly or indirectly impact the next generation's future- health of wildlife and nature.

Wildlife and nature are huge factors in determining the condition of the earth that our kids will live in. Without pertinent wildlife, the ecosystem is in danger of being thrown into an insidious imbalance and many problems.

With the devastating Australia wildlife that has been going on, it looks like we are in danger of heading into that direction.

More of 8,000 Koalas and Kangaroos have perished in the most heart breaking ways in the Australia bushfires.

At this rate, these animals and natural habitat will be nonexistent in our near future.

We can all help these victims that cannot escape (Koalas, animals, Kangaroos, trees, habitat) by

1. Raising awareness of the fires
2. Donating to Wires Wild Life Animal Rescue in Australia (www.wires.org.au/donate/online)
3. Donating to Wild Worldlife Fund (WWF) in Australia

$10 US Dollar is equivalent to about $18 Australia Dollars. If everyone in the US donates just $3 to wild life rescue funds, the healing from this traumatic event for animals and nature overall can expedite at a rapid rate.

PPAG board urges everyone to share this and to raise awareness/donate to save victims that cannot flee. We have a duty to save those that cannot help themselves (children, animals).

Thank you for your support of PPAG, our causes, our missions and endeavors.
