Cornist Hall. ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ
In 1746 it was the birthplace of Thomas Totty, an admiral who served under Lord Nelson.
It was later owned by members of the Summers family, who ran the ironworks business of John Summers and Sons in Shotton and who made extensive alterations to the house.
In 1953, the local authority gained ownership of the house and modified the interior for catering purposes.
In 1987 the Napier family took it over and developed it as a wedding and dining venue.
The Hall was eventually converted into the local golf club's club-house.
The hall eventually closed in 2012.

A little burnt out farm spotted whilst working
Lower ridge was a former care home with 35 rooms. Built in 1967, it closed its doors in 2018 due to the poor structural condition of the building. In 2021 a large fire was started in the building
๐ The abandoned shopping centre that closed due to covid
This was a mission to get into but well worth it. We spent a bit of time in there and eventually got caught off security and let out the back door rather than climbing back outโฆ result

The abandoned hotel ๐จ
This stunning hotel/ wedding venue has to be one of cleanest explorers weโve done to date. Although it does appear to have been a little bit trashed in parts it was still in very good condition. Warning to anyone thinking of hitting this one up, we was greeted by police and the owner on our way out as alarms went of in the reception area and we was seen on camera. The owner is planning on turning it into a large care home and it will be getting sealed as police have been called out multiple times. Glad we got to explore it before it was too late. Hope you enjoy the pics it was a bit of a rush job
The abandoned CE (voluntary aided) primary school
Second fail of the day, the abandoned seminary. Got on to the grounds and got clocked off security ๐ if anyone has any tips for getting in please let me know been wanting to get in for years
The abandoned jolly angler, aka the hoarder pub. One of Manchesters oldest pubs. Whoever owned this pub was obviously a hoarder, we didnโt even attempt to get to the top floor it was that bad
The abandoned Hotspur Press Manchester ๐ญ
The very decayed, abandoned Cheadle Royal Hospital, originally known as Manchester Royal Hospital for the insane ๐ฅ
Situated on the grounds of a working hospital, lies this eerie abandoned asylum, which was known locally as south house. The hospital was originally part of Manchester infirmary and in 1849 it moved to Cheadle. Pioneering at the time, hospital chiefs aimed to move away from the brutal and humiliating treatment other mental hospitals commonly used at the time, using more mild methods for those suffering from psychiatric illness. The name changed to Cheadle royal hospital in 1902 to remove the stigma associated with the previous name. By that point it was one the largest hospitals of its kind in the country.
The beautiful abandoned restaurant/bar and grill ๐ฝ๐บ
Built in the 1800s this stunning venue has been used for many things over the years with various names. The ground floor was used as a casino in the 70s. Unsure of the date of closure but what a waste of a beautiful building
The abandoned synagogue ๐
The abandoned secret Stockport village, home of the ukโs first cannabis cafe ๐
The abandoned Oakwood nursing home was built in the mid 19th century. Locals know it as Teapot Hall as the property was originally built for Thomas Binyon, a member of the well known tea merchanting firm of Binyons and Robinson.
๐The abandoned school, Stockport ๐๐โ๏ธ
The ww2 prisoner of war camp. It was originally built to protect Liverpool docks and surrounding areas. It was then used for Italian prisoners of war and eventually n***s. Local history suggests it was then used for refugees before it was eventually abandoned.
Daresbury Hall was built in 1759 for George Heron. During ww2 it was used as a military hospital. For some years, from 1955 it was used by a charity, now known as Scope, as a residential home for handicapped people. In April 2015 a large cannabis farm was found, containing 600 plants worth around ยฃ750,000 in street value. In 2016 there were plans to demolish part of the building and refurbish but in July of that year a fire broke out and completely destroyed the building.
First and second picture is then, and now
Earnestโs abandoned time capsule โฑ๐
The original building was built in the 1600s and another cottage was added on in the Victorian times. Earnest had lived here since birth before. He lived in the property with his wife Elizabeth until he sadly passed away a few years ago. They were a well known couple in the area and used to deliver milk on horse and cart.
The famous Winstanley Hall.
Built in the 15th century by the Winstanley family and extended in the 17th and 18th centuries.
There is quite a dark past on this place. In 1855 the estate manager, Thomas Shortrede was having an affair with a Mrs Atherton who also lived on the estate with her husband Mason. Not long after the affair came to light, Mrs Shortrede was found dead, apparently drowned, in a well on the estate. it became obvious that Mrs Shortrede had taken her own life when she discovered the affair.
Mrs Atherton, Thomas Shortredeโs lover, could not bear the scandal and her partial responsibility for Mrs Shortredeโs death, so she then took her own life by hanging herself.
Wurzel-Land
Jake Mangle-Wurzel was the self proclaimed king of eccentrics. He lived in his cottage which he called Wurzel-Land, where he collected/hoarded various things, from mannequins to wigs, hats and pretty much anything he could get his hands on. He made wacky inventions and even torture devices with the items he would collect. He spent his life wanting to put smiles on peoples faces until he died of skin cancer at the age of 83. He appeared in various tv shows in the 80s and in 2014 a documentary about his life. He also appeared on channel 5 show hoarders when he was battling the local council to keep his possessions. In July 2010 a fire broke out in his cottage that completely destroyed it, after that he lived in a caravan on his land.
