Polly has been practicing meditation since visiting a Theravada Buddhist monastery in Kyoto, Japan at the age of 12, practicing yoga since 1994 while living on the beach in Mexico and teaching Yoga since 2007 where she trained in New York.
Polly has a deep Sadhana or conscious spiritual practice.
She is a massage therapist since 1994 and has a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture since 1999. Robert Duggan, her acupuncture mentor, taught her that vulnerability is her greatest strength.
Polly wears her heart on her sleeve and will help you connect to your own heart and the courage within it. Polly has been a lead teacher of Yoga Philosophy, and Sanskrit in numerous teacher trainings,
Polly studied dharma under world peace leader and Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh who blessed her with the 5 Mindfulness Trainings which are based on the precepts developed during the time of the Buddha.
Polly studied 800+hours of Yoga Training with Internationally renowned Jivamukti Yoga Teachers: Sharon Gannon and David Life.
Polly deepened her original Sanskrit training with Manorma, Ruth Lauer Manenti and lovely mentor, Andrea Boyd, which led her to further study of Sanskrit with Dr. M.A. Jayashree.
Polly has led healing retreats including yoga, meditation, deep spiritual awakening and surfing to Bali since 2011. In Bali she studied under Balianes healer Jakorde Rei who was spiritual healer to the King of Ubud.
She has been blessed with incredible teachers and remains humble, kind and slightly radical effortlessly blending ancient wisdom, well thought out asana sequencing, alignment cues and hands on adjustments that assist each and every student to transform and evolve.

Pura Vida
While this trip was certainly wonderful playing in the water: surfing with my nephew, jet skiing with my brother and his girlfriend, watching the boys shred on skim boards....
My absolute favorite part of this adventure was helping my brother and his girlfriend set up a project in the little town called “Bamboo”. We helped bring each family staple foods to eat for a week, 5 articles of clothing each that they got to pick out, and a dump truck to haul away the big trash they can’t afford to take away. The matriarchs of the town helped disperse all the goods to each and every family and It was a huge success!
You know this is truly the good life when a “Tiko” woman from the Puebla walks into the community center all set up with clothing and food for her community and exclaims loudly,
“Ayyyy La Pura Vida”!
We are all so blessed! Let’s enjoy this sweet life together!

I am eternally grateful for the growth as a teacher and the opportunity to share these profound teachings so necessary in these times.
I always felt supported and encouraged and ultimately loved at Urban❣️

The birds were really vocal around me during this meditation last night. Sitting outside wrapped in blankets on my back deck amidst the wonderous ecosystem of the low country marsh; I was delighted and could not help hearing the birds calling out. The birds, the messengers of the gods, that fly in the Akashic realm had so much to say....
Maybe when we quiet down the other species tell their stories, the story of how the humans almost destroyed the earth until they were told to go home, sit still, and turn inward.
Maybe we all can self study and change! What will you change?
What do you feel is being asked of our species now?
I feel a call to speak truth, increase consciousness, teach my boys to not over extend. Own my s**t, don’t borrow, live simply, love deeply, be accountable, be kind, cook, clean, take good care of my home, my family, the EARTH, read, sing, laugh and

Food is Medicine!
We can use our food choices to help our immune systems.
(Please see earlier post for nutritional specifics and herbal insights).

CoVid_19 is classified as Toxic Dampness/Phlegm condition in Chinese Medicine. Patients who already have damp conditions in their systems are more likely to suffer if they contract the virus. There is also aHeat component that presents in the fever and dry cough which can further exacerbate the condition.
Knowing this we eat our medicine and choose foods that clear dampness and heat and support the organ systems that are involved in these tasks. The Spleen and Stomach help to resolve damp and assimilate our foods into nutrient rich blood. The Liver and Gallbladder help to keep the blood pure and clear out toxins.
Foods that help to build nutrient rich blood and clear damp are cooked. Root vegetables, soups, dahls, curries. Onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, parsley, celery, green leafy vegetables.
Spices that are great to cook with are tumeric, licorice, (ginger, garlic if not too much heat).
Keep up your oranges, berries, apples.

VISUALIZE HEALTH
Organ systems being hit by the Corona Virus are: lungs, heart , kidneys, liver.
Covid 19 can cause multi organ failure, which is a threat!
Corona virus affects deep lung tissue which has much to do with grief and loss, so be mindful to do your deep breathing exercises and fill the lungs with GRATIFFUL Qi!
Immune systems are overwhelmed thru citacon storms and the immune function throws everything at it which is causing the organ function and the immune system overload. Essentially the body goes haywire on itself, much like an autoimmune condition.
Corona virus has a specific type of protein that binds with a specific receptor that lives in the lungs, kidney, liver and heart. The receptor is angio tense enzyme 2 receptor.
So if you are on an ace inhibitor drug, they upregulate your ACE2 receptors which make you more susceptible, you may want to talk to your doctor as you may be more susceptible to COVID -19.
“2019-nCoV, caused the pneumonia outbreak in China and continue to expand. The host receptor for 2019-nCoV Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), which is the same as the host receptor of SARS-CoV. Targeting ACE2 holds the promise for preventing 2019-nCoV infection. Chinese Medicine herbs could be a valuable pool for identifying active compounds for treating infection of 2019-nCoV. “
Chinese herbs can block the ACE2 enzyme receptor and help immune support!
(I am not your doctor and am not prescribing this to you! you must consult YOUR care provider.)
However, what I am taking daily now is Isatis leaf and root, Echinacea root and leaf, platycodon root, astragalus root, Goldenseal root, Ligustiicum root, licorice root, gingseng root, vitamin C and B, & zinc.
I am also making a green juice daily including: kale, celery, carrot, lemon, ginger, turmeric and orange.
I encourage meditating, getting to the beach or outside for movement an hour per day, which helps keep Spring or Wood energy moving forward with creativity and hope - which are the gifts of the Liver and Gallbladder.
Take time now....this is truly a unique opportunity for mindfulness reflection and self care.

It is with a very weighted heart that I closed Tides Acupuncture and Massage tonight.
