San Diego Countywide Media Advocacy collaborates with regional partners to develop media campaigns.

The Center for Community Research (CCR) facilitates the San Diego Countywide Media Advocacy Initiative for the San Diego County Substance Use Prevention System. Our regional prevention providers work collaboratively to develop media focused on educating and informing the public about the risks of substance misuse. Resources for treatment, harm reduction and overall population health are available.

As if e-cigarettes weren’t kid-friendly enough already, they now come with video games, Bluetooth and other smartphone-like features that make them even more appealing to kids.

These products can deliver massive doses of ni****ne that quickly addict kids — and they’re on the market illegally. That’s unacceptable. The FDA and other agencies must act now to take these and other illegal products off the market.

New San Diego Grand Jury Report on Ma*****na - San Diego police and the county sheriff should collaborate to crack down on unlicensed cannabis delivery services and smoke shops that illegally sell synthetic CBD, the county grand jury says in a new report. The report also recommends the city and county evaluate and document the impacts of cannabis legalization on their finances and local law enforcement efforts. The county is also asked to analyze impacts on health care.

The San Diego County Office of Education is empowering school nurses to combat the opioid crisis.

âś… Free Training:
Facilitated by SAY San Diego, this training program teaches school nurses about fentanyl and opioid risks, overdose symptoms, and how to administer Naloxone, a life-saving medication used to reverse overdoses.

âś… Free Resources:
California DHS offers Naloxone toolkits at no cost. Free Narcan nasal spray and Fentanyl test strips are also provided through SAY San Diego's program.
