When I was a child, I used to own a stuffed toy to comfort myself. Whenever I was in need of rest or I was stressed, I used that same stuffed toy for relief. As I grew up, I slowly drifted away from using such toys and ended up taking vices due to influence and wanting to feel like an adult. The more vices I partook in, however, made me more and more weary of my healthโboth mentally and physically. Eventually, I decided to stop, and went back to the more wholesome stuffed toy to reminisce about my childhood. Something I learned after a while is that even a teddy bear can be a warm comfort for an adult.

Books were a sort of escape portal for a child like me. A child who preferred the fictional world and the company of printed words to the reality in which she lives. However, I had to stop escaping and face my responsibilities as I was growing older. The weight of the world eventually caught up with me, and I felt lost. The only way to go back and feel like myself again was to go through portalsโbooks. The real world altered my character, but the childhood habit of reading brought back a familiarity that reminded me of who I am.

Since the day we were born, milk has always been the first food we've consumed. It was vital to our daily growth and serves as a reminder of our purity and innocence as a child. As we grow, we tend to explore and see the world independently. Coffee was there, ready to help us succeed or fail. It became the primary factor that brought color to our lives. It replaced milk as an essential for growing older, bolder, and better.

I always enjoyed reading. I was one of the resident bookworms in my elementary school who spent almost every hour out of the classroom in the library and burned through numerous full-length novels every week. I mostly read fiction, but as I grew older and busier with other responsibilities, I had to give up this treasured hobby of mine. Thankfully, I started to accumulate more books in recent times and expand my taste in literature, as shown in the photo. One of them is a collection of non-fiction stories and the other is an illustrated childrenโs book, both from critically acclaimed authors. Books donโt have to be thick and lengthy to leave a significant impression on the reader, and the satisfaction of finishing a good read felt amazing to relive after not having felt it for so long.

This photo reveals how children and adults contrast. The subject, Kisses, represents the candy that kids like. Candies are usually given to them after they behave well, and sometimes, they are given as a surprise treat because they are special and loved. On the other hand, there is the coffee cup, wherein it symbolizes adulthood and authority. It is also a treat for an adult, likewise. So, my picture represents gifts that come with each level of growth, and after being diligent and responsible, there's always a reward to give and to grant that makes life special and enjoyable for babies and grandparents.
