Our Coast 2 Coast hike, 2010

Signed the C2C book in Robin Hood's Bay and are now with Emma and Ben. Our feet are itching to get moving again so we will walk in to Whitby tomorrow to explore and have lunch in my fav pub, The Duke of York. We met some wonderful people along the way and have some great tales to tell. They will be better with photos....hope to work on those soon. Cheers for now.

Today was dry but windy and it promises to be clearer tomorrow! Our tans are fading so we are looking forward to sunshine again! Thanks for keeping up with us. We may be out of touch again for a while as we head through the Dales and up to the Moors.

Found an internet cafe after a rather lovely short day today. We are in Richmond, the biggest town we have yet to see! Yesterday was miserable! It rained all day as we trudged through sheep sh*t. We arrived at our B&B and fell asleep for a moment before heading for the pub where there was a roaring fire and fellow walkers to chat about the weather with.

Wish I could sleep past 4:30 but not able to. Breakfast is not until 7:30 so it is a long morning. Rain today but we have had beautiful weather all along. Anne is up now and making our first cup of tea. Magic!

We are at Shap tonight. Exhausted but exhilerated too. Tomorrow is a 21 mile day!! Taking lots of photos.

We did the most grueling day today. Highest peaks and really rough downhill bits. Anne has some wicked blisters and I am sun burned and wind burned. The Lakes are behind us now and we are in the Dales. Sheep have been our constant companions, we call it " sheep tv" . Mums and lambs every where. from the pub. Four deer today.

In Padderdale the first wifi we have seen! Taking lots of photos and loving the amazingly challenging hikes!

We are off on the 3:45 ferry! Will stay in Boston tonight. 8:15am flight tomorrow!
