Thought I’d share the before and after of the garage in photos as well. Still so happy with how it turned out. Definitely worth all the effort!

And so, what I assume will be a life long obsession with Rub n Buff, begins… Turned an ugly yellow chandelier into an aged beauty. Now I need to resist the urge to turn everything in the house gold

So so happy to have finally changed the kitchen tap myself! Have been worried about this for months thinking it would be really complicated, having to take the sink out to disconnect the tap, but then remembered I don’t have a fixed worktop yet 😅 all sorted in under half an hour!

Finally picked a plaster style for around the fireplace and committed. One step closer to a finished sitting room

The shelf brackets have arrived! Was very concerned I’d purchase these from a dodgy company after they didn’t arrive and ended up having to change my order to have 4 in a different style due to low stock. Which is your favourite style?

Amazing the difference 24hrs can make! This was absolutely back breaking but so glad with the result. Just need to get the bricks sand blasted and a plasterer in…then to decide on the hearth!

Now I’ve relaid the floorboards I remembered I didn’t share the installation of the bathroom vents! Something I agonised over for a while but was actually quite a quick and fun job!

Purchased some beautiful finds at the antiques emporium this weekend! One of my favourite finds was a “Everything Within” book…not sure what the author would make of me buying a house as a single women not remotely need a husbands workplace!

The sauna is ready for customers 😉 Just need to win the lottery so I can afford skirting board

The w**d patch took far longer to turn around than I expected but so glad it’s done. This is just phase one. When I finally get some new windows I have a far more elaborate plan for this space! 🤫😉 **ding

Very excited as samples have arrived from ! They even threw in a free fabric sample!

Revealing the reason why I had to bandage my finger today - I had been making a small fence panel to fit at the end of this side of the garden (flick to final photos to see) and managed to hit myself with the hammer exactly 1 minute after thinking I should put my gloves back on. Genius. We replaced all the broken fence panels a few weeks back but I wanted to tidy up the garden before the big reveal! So happy with it!

Introducing my beautiful Frankenstein sink unit, cobbled together before I had even bought the house from an old vinyl storage cupboard off Facebook and a travertine counter and designer sink off eBay (sum total £45 ex. paint!). This is the real reason I can’t pick a paint colour for the walls to save my life! Keep the suggestions coming. Currently exploring yellow

Trying to get back into the swing of posting after a few crazy weeks. To start here is a little transformation I did to cover the copper towel radiator pipes. Started with a special radiator spray and then a second coat with a chrome spray. Topped it off by tiling all around. Very happy with the end result!

And the first door is up! Not to be one to hide the bad parts - this was a nightmare as the door struggled to close because I'd used wood that was too thick on the inside of the frame. Lots of time later my boyfriend managed to sand it down enough for the door to close - talk about a way to celebrate valentines!

Today marks a milestone. The underfloor heating is on!! Been waiting so long for this!

Some fantastic guesses on stories as to what the surprise parcel might be but yes it is a ginger jar. Can't wait to build a shelf to put it on

Words cannot describe the joy of getting out of a shower to warm towels and a heated bathroom...

The doorframe of doom is finished. Just need to fill a few more screw holes and gaps with wood filler and we are good to go!

Celebrating this celestial beauty tonight. Went up in the kitchen this weekend and I cannot tell you the enormous difference it has made! I can actually see what I'm cooking and no longer have to dodge the old bayonet. Plus was only 22.50 from Dunelm! Gotta love a bargain! I did actually want one for £200 but hey ho

Happy New Year! I've been having a full DIY detox the last 2 weeks recovering from the last 12 months which have been very intense. Feeling refreshed and ready for all the big projects in 2022. Here are some snaps of the final major project of 2021 - complete bathroom makeover. As my hands have now healed from the tile adhesive I can look on this with joy! Hope you've all had a good start to the new year!

Ready for a bedtime story? Here’s Goldilocks and the 12 chairs. Once upon a time Goldilocks moved into a complete building site and much to the disappointment of visiting friends, there was not a single chair to be perched on in the house. Determined to improve her guests experience, Goldilocks panic bought 6 Victorian dining chairs from Facebook, only to realise when she got them home that they were far to large for the table and the room! Not to be disheartened by this she continued to search until one day this beautiful set of oak chairs came up that perfectly matched the table! Only problem is...Goldilocks went from having 0 chairs to 12...pretty sure Goldilocks doesn’t even have that many friends...

Double introduction to my new working sink and beautiful fridge! Very exciting step towards habitability!

Exciting little update! Managed to get the kitchen tap fitted tonight and granite in place. Step one of the temporary kitchen is in place!

Breaking news: After several very late nights this week I managed to finish my bedroom floor and have as of today moved all my bedroom furniture in bar my mattress which is still at my current home as I have no water or electricity still BUT hope to be in very soon! Watch this space!!

Tanked my first bath area. Quite easy to do but absolutely stinks! 😷

I would like to formally introduce my favourite new item in the house ❤️ I wanted this Farmhouse duel fuel cooker for so long but it was sold out nearly everywhere and was going to be quite a chunk out of my very minimal budget. Went to buy it online on Sunday and thought to check one last time. Low and behold someone nearby was selling a basically brand new one and I just happened to have a van on hire the next day! Saved nearly £200 as well! Some things are just meant to be!

Before I forget for another day here are more photos of the finished kitchen/dining room floor that I promised last week and failed to deliver. Few befores as well. Still so happy with the result!

Have to say, I'm pretty proud of the results of my tile cutting this weekend. Didn't even think this was possible when I first started but to cut tiles around a door frame and fireplace and for it to actually work?! Think I'll give myself an early night as a treat 😂

Can add "Able to lay underfloor heating" to the CV now 😂 was actually a lot easier than expected! CanNOT wait to turn it on during the cold winter nights!

Despite the hiatus with adhesive amounts, I think I can declare my first attempt at tiling as a success! Just need to grout and then can get moving with the plumbing!
