When a picture says a thousand words! 🥰
This is the moment captured when Colin’s wife opened her gift of their family Growth Chart!

This was a happy accident pointed out to me by Tyler.
The turtles front arm appears to be going under the sand and peering out, which is the knot in the wood!
Didn’t even visualize this when I started this piece!
This side table is available today at our last Market this year at the Laurel Packing House, unless any of our ocean lover friends call dibs on it before!
If not, maybe we’ll keep it, I love this so much!

All customs are special to us because… well, they are custom; therefore, special to the client and you don’t want to mess it up!
However, every once in awhile you get an extra special request.
We met Colin a couple weeks ago at one of the Christmas Markets; he came all 3 days that we were there. Each day with more questions.
Five minutes before ending the last day, Colin came to our booth with a long piece of old till tape and a decent slab of Apple wood.
Colin had trust issues handing both pieces over to us but did so reluctantly and definitely with a couple tears in his eyes.
The slab of wood was an old apple tree that they had in their family’s backyard for years that they had planted.
The ‘piece of paper’ was attached to their wall for years; Colin’s wife kept adding to it with more till paper and tape!
It was their family’s Growth Chart all in Colin’s wife’s print.
Colin couldn’t express enough to us how important that ‘piece of paper’ was to him and his wife, and told just a part of the journey that this ‘piece of paper’ had been through; including evacuated from a couple of Kelowna’s notorious forest fires!
That ‘piece of paper’ has gone through their family’s entire journey with them!
Colin had a vision and I saw it right away!
But I took it a step up!
He requested that I transfer all the names and lines in whatever font that I thought would look good!
Well obviously I had to use his wife’s own handwriting!
Sometimes carbon paper is your best friend!
Along with her handwriting and the same spacing, we frickin’ nailed it!
Well I received 3 hugs from a teary eyed grown man yesterday who couldn’t stop thanking us and touching this piece!
Colin’s wife will be crying for sure after opening this Christmas gift!
He’s promised to video it so we can be a little part of her receiving this!

These ladies were fun!
And when we were almost finished, I received a text from a lady from Wednesday nights class!

Fun was had! Success! 🎨

The lake is in-laid and filled with resin and the actual sand and rock that Trudy supplied from Indian Lake.
Each burn is meaningful and represents a memory to each of her kids and husband.
The whole board tells a story of her family trip to New Brunswick where her family instantly grew!
