OUT NOW!! Abhorration After Winter Comes War CD (jewel case)!

A brand-new formation begun in early 2020, Norway's Abhorration nevertheless feature members hailing from such bands as Condor, Nekromantheon, Hecatomb, Resonaut, Purple Hill Witch, and Obliteration. While one could reasonably expect what sound might result from such a conglomeration, the power-trio's first public recording, After Winter Comes War, aims for an olde-world Metal of Death that abounds with a refreshing sense of the "new." Here, Abhorration invoke and re-arrange trace elements of classic Sadistic Intent, Morbid Angel, Possessed, and early Vader into something uniquely labyrinthine - epic, haunting, and most devotedly METAL above all - with the wicked angularity of prime Axis of Advance to make proceedings that much more twisted & pi**ed. The recording across After Winter Comes War is suitably raw, but the ex*****on is deadly tight, and the four component compositions thus ripple with an intensity that's scabrous. And thankfully, not once is there a cloying sense of "retro" here. Truly, an auspicious first start for this formation!

What comes after After Winter Comes War? Only Abhorration know at this moment - the band has since expanded to a quartet, and a full-length is rumored to be in the works - but Invictus is ready for whatever arsenal is provided next!

Her kommer fire nye band som er klare for LEGEND METALFEST 2023.
Denne gangen har vi en pen liten trio til death metal fansen når vi presenterer bandene OBLITERATION, THE SICKENING og ABHORRATION og krydrer med det lokale albumaktuelle black metal bandet BLODTØRST.

OBLITERATION

"Cenotaph Obscure" is the fourth album from Norway's death metal custodians OBLITERATION. Following their now classic "Nekropsalms" (2009) and the harrowing "Black Death Horizon" (2013), the latest offering further expands on the quartet's trademark sound; lead heavy oldschool death metal with distinct flavours of both doom and black metal. Inventive yet never difficult to grasp, technical without wankery and obscure without being diffuse, OBLITERATION are masters at their craft. Cenotaph Obscure was recorded in Studio Cobra, Stockholm with Martin "Konie" Ehrencrona at the helm, lending the album an organic yet in your face production. THE SICKENING
Kompromissløs dødsmetall fra Kristiansund som vil blåse ørevoksen inn det ene øret, og ut det andre i 220 BPM. Bandet har holdt det gående i 20 år fra oppstarten i 2003, og har ikke veket fra den kompromissløse musikkstilen de peilet seg inn på i starten. Det er brutal og rett i trynet dødsmetall med masse energi som deles med publikum hver gang bandet går på en scene.
Bandet har ikke vært overproduktive, men har brukt tid og omtanke bak hver utgivelse. Først med demoen «Soiled Rotten» som ga bandet en kontrakt for 2 utgivelser med spanske Xtreem Music. Der ble platene «Death Devastation Decay» og «Sickness Unfold» utgitt. Mellom utgivelsene hadde vokalist Stjernestøv en pause fra The Sickening slik at gitarist Markspist håndterte vokalen på «Sickness Unfold». Med en retur til bandet for Stjernestøv begynte de å jobbe med nytt materiale, og ga ut EPen «Sadistic Self Mutilation» på amerikanske Sevared Records. Derfra gikk bandet på nytt inn i studio og spilte inn en EP som ble gitt ut på vinyl titulert «Realm of Putridity». Utgivelsen har EPen «Sadistic Self Multilation» som B-side.

BLODTØRST

Blodtørst er et ekstremmetalband fra Trondheim som ble startet opp i 2019 av to black metal-hoder, en death metal-vokalist, en tungrockgitarist og en ekstremmetaltrommis.
Bandet består av medlemmer med interesser og bakgrunner fra alle typer av subsjangre av metall, men fant hverandre i ønsket om å lage noe under ekstremmetalbanneret. Mantraet til bandet har fra starten av vært å ikke ha noe fasit for det soniske uttrykket. Medlemmene kan teste ut og slenge hva som helst på bordet musikalsk sett og gjøre det til Blodtørst.
Debutalbumet «Ferd» ble sluppet 12. mars 2021, og er starten på bandets utforsking av nyanser av Blodtørst. Lyrisk er albumet preget av ulike former for norske naturlandskap, fiktive utstøtte skapninger og deres skjebner i reisen de gjør gjennom livet.
Dag Axel A. Loe forlot Blodtørsts rekker i midten av 2021 og ble erstattet av gitarist Jørgen Alexandersen.
Bandet jobber i disse dager med oppfølgeren til debutalbumet «Ferd»: DALMUNR er et hardtslående, organisk album, hvor bandet dykker dypere ned i den dystre, lumske stemningen etablert av Ferds andre halvdel. Lyrisk følger DALMUNR tematikken fra debutalbumets tittelspor, i en ny og grusom historie ført i pennen av vokalist Mathias J. Rye.
Lydmessig er DALMUNR kompromissløst med minst mulig bruk av «studiomagi» i et forsøk på å fange Blodtørsts vold.
