Happy New Year!

Rather than put too much pressure on myself by having a lengthy list of “resolutions” this year, I decided to make a conscious effort to be more intentional with my time which I think will automatically resolve many shortcomings in and of itself 🥰🙏🏻 One of the ways I’m trying to be more intentional is by being more active on this space for the benefit of our family and the beautification of your homes 💜

I think part of the reason we can fall in this trap of “wasting time” is because we get in a rut. Everything feels so….ordinary. Or “mundane” even-as the priest put it this weekend. He had such a beautiful homily about how God is there with us in the mundane. He remarked about how little we know about how Jesus spent his time in those early years-but it’s likely that many of His moments were “mundane” just like ours. Learning how to be a carpenter. Helping his Mother Mary clean or cook. If someone were to write about our lives, the stories would include our triumphs, milestones, greatest accomplishments, etc…all the “big” stuff. But our real story is made in the mundane. In reading to our children. Spending time with our parents. Eating meals. Making meals. Folding laundry. In those messy, mundane moments that make a memorable, beautiful life. God is right there with us-making even what feels so mundane anything but 🙏🏻

Last year for our Christmas ornament I drew and cut out my children’s silhouettes and quickly decided I would recreate that ornament each year to see how they change 🥰 Then I thought “why only ornaments?? I can’t enjoy those year round” so this year I am adding silhouette prints to the mix! 🙌🏻 They start at $10 per child! They can also be combined on one sheet if you prefer. Animal options also available!

Hi friends!

I don’t remember where I heard this quote, but it stuck with me...so I’ve been pretty quiet on here because, well, I’ve been trying to focus on my “glass balls”. And this cutie is one of them 🥰 We snuck away for a baseball game because his love language is DEFINITELY quality time, and it was just what the doctor ordered for both of us 🙏🏻 🧡

I have a lot of ideas swirling around in my brain and I’m hoping to have some of those ideas materialize in the coming weeks. Stay tuned! And-as always-please DM me if you have any ideas you’d like to have brought to life!

Welcome to Binding Roses! My name is Elizabeth and I am the maker of all the things here at Binding Roses!

So how did Binding Roses come to be? I have always loved creating-it is a form of therapy and escape for me-and have sold things casually to make a little extra money as a "boost" for my family. Then in August of 2020 we found out that our oldest had type-1 diabetes. The overwhelming influx of information-combined with the added expenses-changed the income that I once viewed as "optional" to "necessary" in an effort to help cover these additional expenses. To help me cope and give me strength my mom brought me a Rosary Novenas to Our Lady book. Confession: I had never prayed a Novena in my life, and only prayed the rosary here and there. And so I began praying the Novena. And so changed my outlook on everything. In this particular Novena, the prayer you pray before you begin each set of mysteries talks about kneeling before our Mother and offering a "crown of roses bound together with my petition for a particular grace". I immediately fell in love with the imagery of binding together these roses to place at Mother Mary's feet. I also began to feel this pull to begin focusing more on creating religious inspired items. And thus Binding Roses was born. The closing prayer really struck me as well. It says "I offer you this Spiritual Communion to bind my bouquets in a wreath to place upon your brow in Thanksgiving for (specific request) which you in your love have obtained for me, even if I do not yet fully comprehend your wisdom." What a beautiful way to sum up our prayer life: praying and having confidence that our prayers are being answered...even if we do not fully understand God's wisdom.

I can't say enough how much every single purchase means to my family-it is a blessing to all 6 of us. I love creating custom orders so if you have a vision I would love to help you bring it to life! Thanks for stopping by!
