As a yoga teacher and fitness expert one thing I have learned personally, and teach to students, is how important space is. Space in both body and mind. Stretching, opening and lengthening the body to release tension or blocked energy, building strength while stepping away from overactive thoughts.

Space away from the busyness of life. Space away from the to-do list. In yoga we sit with emotions, feelings and thoughts, holding them in awareness, acknowledging them without reaction. Holding power over our thoughts so that ultimately, we are in control, we choose whether we listen to them or not. This awareness is applied to my other forms of fitness and in life. Noticing space.

As new and scary as this time is, I am using it to be grateful for space and time with both myself and family.

We’ve entered a period unlike any other. It’s led to personal life changes and disruptions in businesses, travel and events like we have never experienced.

No one knows how long this will go on and what the ultimate outcome will be. We are all unsure what to do. Is there a “right” answer? I’m not sure. What I do know is connection, exercise and silence to breathe cannot hurt! (even if it's done virtually with others from your computer or phone)

Happiness is the little things! I noticed a young couple in class practicing together. That’s not what impacted me. What impacted me, was the sincere high-five the couple exchanged as they finished and rolled their mats. Their hands met and eyes connected organically.

It’s so easy to get wrapped up in the idea of selling or building a business. Behind every business, every post, every computer/phone/tablet screen typing away is a HUMAN BEING!

Foundation Fitness First, LLC

Foundation Fitness First, LLC was established in 2012 to offer a space for over scheduled parents wanting an efficient and effective workout without extra time away from family. Fitness expert and founder Megan Arnold is a certified Wellness Coach, NETA, an American College of Sports Medicine certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist and 200 RYT with a Master’s of Science degree from Ohio University in Exercise Physiology, but more importantly a busy working mom. She wanted a space to train and stay well with a focus on her family and it’s wellbeing. Megan teaches her clients to search for their edge (mentally and physically). The concept behind the home studio is to make movement accessible, challenging and adaptable to any lifestyle. Life is what we create and feeling well in every breath, day and year are worth it! Love, unity and the celebration of “feeling” is the foundation of Fitness First. We are better and stronger together. This is different for each person and different on each day and in each breath. Foundation Fitness First inspires and teaches that feeling good is possible.
