Another great weekend in Oahu🌴🌼🌈☀️💕
Welcome back from spring break🌼Hope everyone had a great time. I myself went to Mexico for break and had an AMAZING time!
We were a group of 7 HPU students that went together. The flight was pretty long, around 12 hours in total - but so worth it! Tulum has such great culture, food, atmosphere and beach clubs 🇮🇹🌮 10/10 would recommend a trip there!
What did you do for spring break?
It’s always a good idea to squeeze in a sunrise or sunset during the week ☀️
Student story🌼🌈: Aloha, my name is Sarah. I am from Germany and have a Bachelors degree in Human Resource Education and Management. I am currently spending my master semester abroad at HPU because I love the ability to study at one of the most beautiful places in the world, at one of the most diverse and international universities.
There are endless possibilities such as surfing, hiking and exploring the beautiful culture of Oahu and the other islands. Additionally, HPU offers small classes and great teaching. I highly recommend studying at HPU.
Kauai and Big Island guide⛰🏝⛵️
If you are considering going to Kauai or Big Island for a weekend trip or spring break, here are some of my recommendations for what to do
Kauai🌴🌈:
Kauai is called the «garden island» and that for good reason. It is even greener and more tropical than Oahu, and there are beautiful sights and hikes everywhere on the island. I would recommend spending around 4 days in order to have time to see everything. We rented an airbnb in Princeville. Here are some of my favorite activities and spots out of what we did
- Napali Coast boatride
- Awa’awapuhi Trail
- Queens bath (tide pool)
- Waimea Canyon
- Hanalei Bay
Big Island🌋:
Big Island is the volcano island and it also houses some beautiful hikes and sights worth seeing while there. Big island is the largest of the Hawaiian islands, so I would recommend about 4 days here as well. And be prepared to drive around a lot🚙 Here are some of my recommendations for things to do
- Night snorkle with Manta Rays
- Mauna Kea
- Go see the volcano (even though I don’t think it’s active anymore)
- Rainbow falls, ‘Akaka falls, Pe’epe’e falls
One of the things I love the most about being a grad student at HPU in Hawaii, is how diverse my days are. I can start one day doing a sunrise hike at Pali Noches, go to work/class before Taco Tuesday and trivia night at Aloha Tower right down the road. The next day we might go snorkeling at Electric beach before class, or have a barbecue to the sunset at North Shore. The opportunities are endless and I am so happy that I get to combine school and work with all the things that beautiful Hawaii has to offer "hawaiipacificuniversity
It's been a while! Happy Aloha Friday ! Enjoy the long weekend to de-stress after your first week into the spring semester.
