Sometimes when I feel rough patches in my life, I look to any source of water and remind myself that I can either fight the current, flow with it, or witness it from above. There is no wrong way to live life, there are only ways that make life harder or easier to enjoy. I witness when I am mindful and reflective. I flow when I move with ease through the motions. I fight when I feel the currents are rough and taking me in a harmful direction. Today I witnessed and flowed. I cannot see what any moment truly has in store for me outside of this current one. Now is real, now is eternal, now is important. In this moment, there is nothing in my immediate surroundings causing harm. In this moment I can hold space for all emotions. In this moment, I can focus on the cold weather and the night sky. In this moment I can witness my experience of the human condition.
Sometimes I lose my sense of self when I do not have mindfulness practices as often or frequently as I know is good for me. I am recommitted to strengthening my relationship with myself and the extensions of my being. That looks like diving into nature, singing, dancing, meditating, spontaneous trips, alone time, coloring, journaling, arts and crafts, and so much more. We all play an active role in our lives and the relationship we have with ourself is the most important one. We carry ourselves in our bodies, we carry ourselves in our emotions, we carry ourselves through our souls.
It is in the moments of the in between, the pauses of thought, the suspension of humanity, the silence in stillness, that I feel one with the universe in the rawest of ways.
This is one spot that helps ease my consistent cravings of being in a forest. I’m really grateful for this little nook in the local park because it feels so nature dense. I love seeing the tree roots above ground and how they are equally as big as the branches. This going to be one of my writing spots out here.
“This is my story
This is my vision
Everything right on time”
I’m a strong believer that we are the most powerful force in our own lives. It is up to us to flow and create experiences. My intuition kept bringing me back to San Diego and despite a lot of ego conflict about pressing pause on traveling, I’m so grateful I did. I’ve made so many amazing connections, done some awesome things and found a beautiful ass community. Among people and things, I connected with this guy. He’s one of the best people I’ve ever met and I’m so happy that he is apart of my journey. I feel inspired to keep growing, flowing, and explore a deeper sense of knowing. I’m pretty freaking happy with where I’m at in life and this connection really does add so much joy and happiness in my day to day. Thank you Alex for showing up and being such a powerful force in my life. I appreciate you immensely. I’m so excited for this chapter of my life and what we are be able create together.
