Adil Shamji is one of the candidates running for leadership of the Ontario Liberal Party.

The last time Adil came to visit the riding, he held a meet-and-greet at the Moose with folks from all over the community to learn about the issues impacting Nipissing and Northern Ontario. So far, Adil has released policies focusing on healthcare, housing, education, inclusion, party renewal, and support of local riding associations.

Hi Everyone!

I thought I'd give everyone a bit of a break before I posted this (I know there was a lot going on last week)!

Thursday night’s events were not what we had hoped for of course, but I am unbelievably proud of the work that our team has done. I still believe in the platform we presented to Ontarians and I am disappointed that the people in our province won’t get to see it take shape.

We knocked on thousands of doors, called thousands of families, and talked to hundreds of people at events. I’ve been energized by the conversations I’ve had and I’ve become more sure than ever that we need change. We need to protect our seniors, our kids, our healthcare and education systems, and more. I saw so much damage over the last few months and I am undeterred in my fight for a better community.

It was certainly an uphill battle with a number of factors working against us, but as I said on election night, this is what I was able to do with six months. Now, I’ve got four more years - four years to organize, four years to talk to voters, and four years to grow ever more focused on our vision.

We’ll be growing our local association as well - hosting more outreach events, fundraisers, and community improvement activities. There’s a lot of work to be done but I know how strong Northern Ontarians are.

We’re just getting started.
