Natalie Jackson for Congress- US House of Representatives FL District 10
Civil Rights Attorney Natalie Jackson is running for U.S. House of Representatives in FL Congression District 10 includes most of the western half of Orlando.
As a civil rights attorney, Natalie’s career focus has been on holding those in power accountable. She has taken on government abuses of power and institutional racism locally and nationally, having worked with preeminent attorney Benjamin Crump on the Trayvon Martin (FL), Robbie Tolan (TX), and Andre Hill (OH) cases. Natalie is running for Congress because she believes that we are at a critical p
Biden canceled $10,000 in student loan debt for people earning less than $125K per year and $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients. He also extended the payment pause.
Biden just forgave $10,000 in student loan debt. Elizabeth Warren calls it ‘one of the biggest acts of consumer debt relief in American history,’ while Mitch McConnell calls it ‘socialism’ Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and more weigh in on the historic decision.
We Didn’t Win The Election But We Helped To Frame The Issues!
After January 6th, I knew that our country was at a precipice and that the hard-fought-for civil rights and freedoms that defined us, as Americas, were at stake. So, I filled out the paperwork to run for Congress on May 23, 2021, after finding out that Val Demings was leaving her seat to run for U.S. Senate.
I was the first candidate to file. I didn’t know who else or if anyone else would be in the race, but I knew we needed politicians who understood that we were fighting for the soul of America…democracy, voting rights, and free and fair elections. When qualifying was over and all the candidates had filed, there were 10 Democrats and 8 Republicans in this race.
On July 28, 2022, the Orlando Sentinel and AARP had a community forum with all of the candidates. The question was, “What is the most pressing issue of our time?” The other candidates said “the economy,” “affordable housing,” or “climate change.” All great answers. But I answered, “Voting rights. Because without it, all the other issues don’t matter.”
Since that forum, I’m glad to say that when asked that same question, almost every candidate who was on the Orlando Sentinel and AARP panel with me, including our Democratic Nominee Maxwell Alejandro Frost, now answers the question with my original answer of “Voting rights and free and fair elections.”
This makes me happy because, even though I didn’t win the election, I helped my fellow candidates see that while we have many pressing issues (from inflation to housing), without the people having a real say in how and who runs the government, we’d live in an authoritarian government with no voice or say in any of those issues.
Last night, I texted Max to congratulate him on his primary win and to let him know that I support him as he goes on to the general election against Republican Calvin Wimbush. FYI...Wimbush stated at the AARP forum that he believes won the election and women should be made to give birth even in the cases of in**st and r**e. So, I REALLY HOPE THAT WINS!!
Last but not least….
Thank you, thank you, thank you to all my donors, supporters, and volunteers. Although we were a small group, WE WERE MIGHTY!!
Thanks to our generous donors, we raised enough money to pay for our campaign and all the vendors and resources needed to run this year-long venture. We were able to purchase computer equipment and political software, buy social media ads and text messages, sponsor and host campaign events, hire political consultants and campaign compliance contractors, and pay our canvassers a fair wage. PLUS…we were able to and made sure to support LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSES and BLACK-OWNED BUSINESSES.
Thanks also to our incredible supporters and volunteers, who knocked on doors, made phone calls, handed out fliers, waved signs, attended political meetings, called PACs, created social media posts, protested, and rallied with the campaign for social justice, women’s rights, and voting rights, and encouraged me to keep going. You all were really RIDE or DIE!!
Since last night, I’ve received many calls and texts of condolences and encouragement. I’ve also been asked. “What’s next?” Long term, I’ll continue my work as a civil rights attorney and start my political PAC. And in the short term, I plan on helping:
1. Lj Holloway win her Congressional race in Florida District 4 (Duval, Nassau, and Clay counties), and
2. Karen Green win her Congressional race in Florida District 7 (Seminole, Brevard, and Volusia counties), and
3. Aramis Donell Ayala win her race for Florida Attorney General.
I’ll end this post with one of my favorite sayings….ETERNAL VIGILANCE IS THE PRICE OF FREEDOM.
Thank you, everyone! Love you. xoxo

Un mensaje de campaña para los votantes de habla hispana de Natalie Jackson para el Distrito 10 del Congreso de Florida, ubicado en Maitland, Winter Park, Eatonville y Orlando.
ENDORSEMENT ALERT: Higher Heights PAC is proud to endorse Natalie Jackson for Congress (FL-10). She is on the ballot Tuesday.
Natalie is a Central Florida native from Sanford, FL. Growing up, she saw the realities of the struggles that would power her through her career and chose the path that would lead her to run for Congress.
Natalie was commissioned as a Naval Intelligence Officer and graduated from Naval Intelligence School. She was assigned to an air wing aboard the USS Roosevelt as a Middle East analyst, becoming a part of the first team of women allowed on a combat vessel. After her service on the USS Roosevelt, Natalie was assigned to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, at the Pentagon, as part of an internal think tank that taught operators about new satellite systems. Her experience at the Pentagon provided her the expertise to work with the Department of Defense, other departments in the Federal Government, and across Washington to participate in moving America forward.
At the age of 30, after nearly a decade of active-duty service in the U.S. Navy, Natalie earned a scholarship to the University of Florida Law School. After graduation, Natalie began working as a public defender, seeing first-hand the need for justice reform as clients were shuffled through a system designed to get convictions above all else. She knew that if you wanted to change the system, you had to be willing to do the work to make that change.
Building a reputation for taking the tough cases, the everyday fights for Civil Rights and justice, and being willing to battle uncooperative institutions have turned Natalie Jackson, the Florida attorney, into a nationally recognized Civil Rights lawyer.
In 2012, Civil Rights Attorney Ben Crump called Natalie to partner as local co-counsel on the Trayvon Martin case. Her work on this case put her on the national stage with the Black Lives Matter movement. She continued working with Ben Crump, representing the families of Breonna Taylor, Andre Hill, and several other tragic, high-profile cases. Natalie has worked on the inside to fight for equal justice alongside other activists and community leaders engaged in grassroots activism.
In a moment where our nation’s democracy is on the line, it is more crucial than ever to have Black women at the table where critical policy decisions are made.

Today we celebrate the life and legacy of , , native, . She died in 2019.
When she first became eligible to vote, she had to take a literacy test and pay a poll tax of $1.50, a sum worth about $25 today. Anyone who couldn’t read or couldn’t pay the tax, which accumulated, couldn’t vote. Most white voters – those whose ancestors were on the voting rolls before the Civil War – were exempt from the test.
“It’s important, I think, for everybody to be able to vote and let their choice be known,” she said.
Her words still ring true today.

NATALIE JACKSON FOR FL CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT 10
America is at a precipice. We’ve seen the tribalism, destruction, and chaos that happens when powerful and corrupt people create and exploit the economic inequalities, racial divides, and fears of everyday people. We have also seen how our federal government can be rendered almost useless when cults of personalities and extreme partisan politics take precedent over common-sense bi-partisan legislation.
I served 9 years in the military because I believe in democracy, and I love this melting pot of a country that my father died in Vietnam for and that my ancestors built. I do civil rights work because I believe in the ideals expressed in the Declaration of Independence.
In 1967, MLK, Jr. asked the question, "Where do we go from here: community or chaos?"
I’m running for Congress because we owe it to ourselves, our children, and future generations to choose COMMUNITY!
I’m Natalie Jackson, you can find out more about me by visiting my website at www.nataliejacksonforcongress.com and I hope you will support me in my bid to become the next Congresswoman in Fl D-10 by voting for me on August 23rd. Thank you.
