𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | Fire broke out on a ship anchored near Navotas Centennial Park. The fire was intensified due to the strong winds circulating around Metro Manila caused by the storm.

Residents near the incident reported difficulty breathing due to the dense smoke. Authorities are advising people in the area to evacuate immediately if needed.

Today marks the 41st anniversary of the death of Senator Benigno "Ninoy" S. Aquino, Jr.

Honoring his courage and sacrifice in the desire of democracy for our country. May his legacy continue to encourage us to maintain the freedom and liberties for which he battled with firm.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | According to the official memorandum from the Malacañang, Ninoy Aquino Day, a special non-working holiday, will be moved from Wednesday, August 21, to Friday, August 23.

National Heroes Day, which is a regular holiday under Proclamation No. 368, falls on Monday of the following week, August 26.

In accordance with this memorandum, classes will be postponed from August 23 to 26 to provide a holiday weekend promoting domestic tourism.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | Navotas National High School's Filipino department successfully launched the opening program for Buwan ng Wika 2024 with the theme “Filipino: Wikang Mapagpalaya”.

Along with this, they will also conduct contests for the commemoration of the said event.

We're celebrating the 57th ASEAN month this August with the theme “Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience”. This is to promote awareness about the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in the Philippines.

According to Mayor John Rey Tiangco's announcement, the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office has recommended 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, due to a 1.9-meter high tide expected at 11:22 AM and continuous rainfall from the southwest monsoon.

Residents are urged to exercise caution to stay safe from potential hazards.

Maligayang Buwan ng Wika!

In celebration of August as National Language Month, let us honor and take pride in the Filipino Language: A Language of Liberation. Together, let us promote our culture, a symbol of our identity and freedom.

The recent oil spill in Bataan, Philippines, has become an environmental crisis, threatening both marine life and local communities. On July 25, 2024, the MT. Terra Nova sank off the coast of Limay, releasing 1.5 million liters of fuel into the ocean. This incident poses a severe threat to aquatic ecosystems, as industrial fuels are highly toxic, capable of killing sea animals and coral reefs.

The impact of the spill is already being felt in Navotas City. The oil spill endangers the livelihood of Navoteño fisherfolk, who rely entirely on fishing for their income.

According to Rappler, an oil spill boom was installed at the floodgates of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in Barangay Tanza Uno, Navotas City, on Wednesday to help contain the spill.

Celebrating Filipino music's rich tradition and unique talents, thereby strengthening national pride and cultural identity.

This celebration recognizes the huge impact of Filipino artists, composers, and musicians on the country's heritage.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | Navotas National High School successfully commenced the first day of the school year 2024-2025, July 29.

Faculty, school administrators, along with members of the Secondary Supreme Learners Government, were present to assist students, particularly those in grade 7, in locating their respective classrooms. This initiative aimed to ensure a smooth transition for new students as they began their secondary education.

In addition, officials from the Schools Division Office - Navotas and the regional office conducted a visit at NNHS to verify the school's readiness for the new academic year. The officials assessed various aspects of the school's preparedness, including the condition of the facilities and the measures in place to maintain a safe environment for the students.

Be guided by the following schedules for tomorrow, July 29, 2024:

Grades 7 and 12 will have classes in the morning (6:30 - 12:00 noon)

Grades 8 and 11 will have classes in the afternoon (12:30 – 5:30)
