This is in old Mud daubers nest. Mud daubers are solitary wasps that build mud tube like nests. These wasps gray on spiders and place a spider in each cell with an egg the female lays. Once those eggs hatch the larvae feeds on the spiders for nutrition and help them develop. Mud wasps rarely sting even when provoked. But their nests can be an eye sore on an exterior of a home. Summers coming and so are the wasps.
