How do MCTs provide quick energy?

This is a common question, and we’re here to shed some light on how this occurs.

Generally speaking, when you eat, the nutrients are broken down and then absorbed in your small intestine, and to get through this system can take 5-8 hours, depending on the individual.

MCTs are unique and bypass the majority of the digestive system and are absorbed directly into the liver through the portal vein and then onto the bloodstream. This occurs within 1-2 hours after consuming.

MCTs energy is a great, quick, and efficient way to boost your day!

What’s the difference between MCT Oil in liquid or powder form?

Fight, Flight, or Freeze.

These are the three basic reactions people have to stressful or traumatic events. When presented with a stressful or traumatic situation, we either fight back vocally or physically, run away to our cubicle, or simply freeze midline on stage.

The threat is there, and our body knows just what to do - shut down the brain’s cognitive abilities, direct more blood flow to the body, and increase life-saving hormones.

When we were nomadic foragers these innate reactions helped us humans survive for millennia. Problem is, as a society we advanced rapidly but our genes did not. Now stress and trauma come from societal expectations, not a man-eating sabre-toothed tiger.

We’re not downplaying the severity of the stresses (family, work, environmental, grief, etc.) we are all faced with each day, but rather, trying to shed light on how and why our bodies react the way they do.

The hope is that knowing what is going on will help you recognize the signs and look for short-term solutions. Like removing yourself from the situation and breathing deeply. Accept the sensations and remind yourself that you will be OK. Easier said than done, we know.

For longer-term solutions try to recognize patterns or triggers that bring on the stress, practice calming techniques when you’re OK to build up muscle memory and seek out professional help.

Meet Jeremy.

Jeremy is a highly imaginative and creative thinker with years of accounting and executive-level experience. He has a high EQ and is very adaptable to situations. His curiosity and quest for knowledge about many facets of life are insatiable. He’s always up for a laugh, and rarely do you not see a smile on his face! He is 1 of 3 co-founders of Sun Under the Sea.

Driven to succeed in most areas of life, Jeremy’s journey in nutrition started as a student-athlete in university. He entered freshman year at 185 lbs, graduated at 265 lbs, and years later returned to 185 pounds. Jeremy learned a thing or two about bio-hacking and nutrition. Most importantly, he learned about his dairy sensitivity and ability to metabolize fats well.

As an accounting professional, Jeremy quickly climbed the corporate ladder and earned a CFO position he set out to achieve and drank a LOT of coffee along the journey.

Jeremy tried dairy alternatives, but they provided little functional nutrition and, most times, had undesirable additives. Additionally, Jeremy discovered the immense amount of benefits of meditation and being more mindful. Jeremy is just beginning his journey of living a purpose-led life.

Fun fact, Jeremy at one point, was drinking 10 cups of coffee a day for months, trying different ingredients and formulas before arriving at the product you enjoy today!
